Just got out of a 7 year relationship with my ex and I was nervous about having to do everything alone in my crappy new apartment. Thank you so much for this tutorial!!! My countertops are GROSS, you’re truly doing the lords work with this tutorial 😭
This is one of the best results I’ve seen. I bet this took a lot of time. A lot of people screw up by not dealing with epoxy. If you don’t seal you’re throwing money away
Thank You for giving me the courage to finally using the paper I bought to do this ! I’ve watched so many but yours is the only one that turned out awesome & made me feel like I could do it ☺️
Fabulous! I’m going to redo my kitchen in black and gray. My late wife painted our cabinets black so I’m keeping them the way they are and I’m going to paint the walls. A dark gray with light gray trim around all of my moldings. I’m doing something similar to my counter, as I just discovered that I could do this yesterday. So glad they have a product like this and thank you so much for your wonderful video. ❤️❤️
I played this to specifically see how you handled the front of the countertops and it makes sense. Very helpful technique I plan to apply to my project.
First, you have to remove electric plates, and when you finish, put them back. Also I think is a good idea to put clear caulking around sink, just to protect more of leaks. It looks good .
My girlfriend ordered this stuff and we both thought it would be easy to do. Totally messed up. So glad you made the video with such detail and explanation!! Appreciate it!
I've done this on my plain electric fireplace. It looks like a marble fireplace now. She is an expert at contact paper. Great job! I know those edges are hard to do!
I have lived in this home for a year scared to do something about my counters but disliking them every day. This is phenomenal! Going to try it today!! Xox
I was SO WORRIED because my countertops are longer than the rolls I got. I looked up a tutorial to see how other people did this and found your video and ITS THE SAME BRAND AND COLOR YOU'RE USING 💙💙💙 I didn't see any noticeable seams on your counters and that has me feeling SO much better
When I first looked at this material I said no way there’s no way I could do it after I watched your video I think I’ve got a good chance you’re a good you’re excellent at doing that you did a great job
OMG I've been looking for this video! My sink is exactly like yours and I was struggling with how to apply my contact paper with such and odd placed sink. Thank you! Saved my life.
Beautiful job! On Saturday I am starting my countertop project. I am not a handy, crafty, or patient person at all. I'll likely have many frustrated moments. This guide will be a major help
This video is so cool and professional. I have some scrapes and cuts on my countertop and I thought I had to replace the whole thing. After watching this video I think I can replace it myself. Thanks Silver ❤
First, my youngest sister is named, Monique! Second, you did an awesome job; this just changes the whole look of the kitchen. I purchased some marble contact paper from Amazon. I paid a bit extra, because it is thicker than regular contact paper and supposedly easier to handle. I have a much smaller area to cover, but I'm still kind of nervous. I'm not the best at DIY. I must say that you have inspired me and this will be my weekend project. Wish me luck.🍀
My niece helped. To be honest, it was difficult, but the transformation made the task worth it. I also painted my cabinets, painted my kitchen, my brother n law installed peel and stick backsplash and cabinet pulls. My kitchen remodel on tight budget, turned out nice. I have the biggest smile whenever I walk into my kitchen!
You did a really good job with this video. Thank u for being so in depth. Very informative! Have u found that it's held up over time or if u removed it how was that experience and was your counter OK after?
Thank you & thanks for watching. I moved out but the removing process was quick and easy. The countertop was fine like before. There’s was no damage done.
May I suggest using a blow-dryer to make any edges stick better & permanently? However, be careful! Even the brand name contact paper is pretty thin and will melt instead of shrink if too much heat is applied. 😉🤓👍
Whew chile... my mom wanted a new counter top and I told her about the laminated film and then came straight to UA-cam to find a video & just happened to pull urs up... and now ma'am my mom has Summon ME to do her dirty work!! Thanks to you!😂 You did a great job!!
First of all, thanks for sharing, very helpful! I see you are using separate sheets for the backsplash (where you have outlets) and the countertop, but not sure if this is because of not having enough size. So, if the width of my paper is big enough, do you think it is a good idea just to start from the backsplash with one single sheet and continue all the way to the edge of the countertop? Do you think the inner corner will later start having bubbles?
Great job. You made this look easy. I'm going to get two additional rolls. I bought some 3 months ago and was scared to try it. Watching your video gave me the push I needed. Thank you.
Thank you Silver! Appreciate all the advice. I want to do this to the countertops on my old house I just bought. But I'm worried about the areas that need to be spliced. Can you overlap the stuff or has to be cut perfect in??
It's going to do not so great near the sink. It's only a temporary change to last about a year or two near the sink especially. It isn't made to last much longer.(but it looks nice and the cost is inexpensive) Great for rentals too!
Contact paper won't hold up well as a counter, no hot pots around, also scratches that can tear it and constant water will damage it But it does like nice.
Thank you. I have similar counter with curve around the sink and I was at dead end how to use use peel and stick countertop. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Thank you for sharing. I love it. I been looking for this color for my counter tops. I am gonna use the vinyl rolls from ebay. A little thicker. But more durable. I already have the black wood vinyl rolls 2 191ft rolls.
Omg ty ty ty for posting this. I'm currently at my gmaws while she out of town and I'm trying to do a budget friendly surprise makeover and I was going to paint the counters until I came across your video!!! It looks AMAZING!!!! Im 🙏 hers will turn out this good :)
It looks great. Thanks for the tips. I’m in apartment and previous tenants used counter top as cutting board. Looks beat. So I’ll try this, scary but removable but why? It will be better than it is now.
Wonderfully explained and wow, it looks fantastic !! I have thought about doing mine for awhile now and this motivated me to try my countertops !! Thank you .
Such a great job!!!...wish I had thought of this when I was in my Apt. As long as I was there. Looking to buy a new place I will be trying some of these techniques.
It's been 9 months since you posted, have you had any flaws with your counter tops or do they still look this fabulous? I just bought a home and want to come out on the cheaper side but still look flawless.
Very good you did an excellent job and you made it look great and easy without any help from your other half I was surprised how well you worked the curves they look great but I have one question, you had put a lot of seams on the counter I didn't get a real good look at most of them witch means you put those seams together really good but are you not too concerned about water leaking into those seams and having the contact come apart? the reason I ask is that I am doing mine right now and I just happened to see your clip. When I finish putting all the paper down I am going to put one layer of waterproof polyurethane and that will make a waterproof seal on the seams and it is an easy process I bet your other half could even do it but you will have to use waterproof polyurethane. You did a fantastic job hope mine looks as good as yours...
Thank you! The contact paper will hold up really good no matter what. I did a 9 month update on the counter tops on my channel. You can check it out to help as well.
So, its been a little while since you did it. Day one it looks fabulous. But now that youve lived with and used it for awhile now, hows it holding up? Is tbere anything youd do different? I would love to do this but my motherinlaw doesnt believe in using a cutting board, so Id be worried it would get cut up. But I could leave her section undone. What about water getting underneath. What are youre thoughts on the water issue? Did you like seal the edges? Thanks. You dud a great job, looks awesome 😊
I would recommend taking off the receptical covers with the breaker off for a cleaner look and less precision cutting, but dang, you did an amazing job. Beautiful work ❤
Good job! Really! The only problem is the color selection they have available. Why the hell do they keep only 3-5 SAME colors in every store and online? No variety! I remember using this same exact white marble color like 20+ years ago.
I have a question for you. I had done this same thing for my countertops in my basement. I am trying to remodel my basement for my 16yr old son and turning it into a room for him. The only problem we’re having (and it’s a big problem) is that the peel and stick isn’t strong enough and rip’s very easily. Do you have any ideas on what I can use as a coating over the peel and stick or something that dries leaving a harder and a clear protectant?
Great job. I did my countertop with the same paper and I love it. Your kitchen looks beautiful ❤️
I love it too!! Thank you ❤️
Does the adhesive "sticker" feel like smooth and have the slick texture a counter would? Kind of a weird question I know
@@ItsSilverMonique what's the name of that tool that you use to smooth out the paper?
Girlfriend, u’ve GOT THIS.
I’ve been divorced since 2010 - and HAPPY 🥰
How has it been holding up? is it good quality? If you wanna take it off does it ruin the counter underneath? Does i5 rip?

It's going to do not so great near the sink. It's only a temporary change to last about a year or two near the sink especially. It isn't made to last much longer.(but it looks nice and the cost is inexpensive) Great for rentals too!
You can put some white silicon around the sink that helps a lot cause like so the water do not get in
Caulking to water proof the seam so water wont get underneath.
Contact paper won't hold up well as a counter, no hot pots around, also scratches that can tear it and constant water will damage it
