happy Sunday i have a question for the stick on floor tiles... If you put them in the bathroom will the condensation from taking showers erode or peel off after a while? I'm thinking about doing that for my floors as well but that's my only question. Thank you for such an educational video. love ya
You don't need to be a renter to use those hacks, even if you own a house, it's convenient to change easy the style of your home...all options are amazing...i liked mostly the tiles and wallpaper,i would try those .. thanks for the inspiration, Kristen!!
Totally did this to the kitchen of my new house. There was no money for a remodel, but the floor was ugly. Nicest way to make a change w/o breaking the bank until bigger remodel could be done
This has one of the best ads I've seen in a video. Seamless with the content, transparent in the sponsorship, and thorough product details and cute project example. Give this woman more sponsors
YES!!! I was impressed how seamless and enjoyable she made it! Give her more sponsorships! But also, because she did have product which she really want to have in her add!!! But still she did phenomenal job with imbedding it in!
I own my home and have used peel and stick products as a very cost friendly way to change up decor. It makes it fun to try new things without the commitment of a costly remodel.
Finally! Someone demonstrated peel n stick wallpaper on textured painted walls! Thank you for an excellently produced presentation. This is HGTV quality.
I've been living in a rental house for 2 yrs now and I gave myself the ok to paint their ugly ass bathroom. I also changed the hose things behind the toilets and fix their kitchen sink.
I can't thank you enough for introducing me to peel & stick. I didn't know this existed before, and it gives me so much hope to make my home unique and beautiful even though I am a tenant.
I used contact paper over 30yo on a rental apt in kitchen after getting ok from landlord and after I was done was asked to update his other apts in that unit. Left the apt upon his request when I left .. got a few months free rent and all security deposit back. Old trick.
I am making this comment BEFORE completely viewing entire video This is AWESOME. For landlords as well as tenants, I have a tenant who wanted to add color to her unit. I do not allow tenants to repaint bcuz they do not run to original I status. I have yet to talk to her. Thank you Lord for directing me to this video
Great renters tips as always! BRAVO! I'm in love love love with that peel and stick wall paper with the bird of paradise and bugs! Need!!! Thanks for sharing!
I have used peel and stick wallpaper in my livingroom and half bath. I love it! I used peel and stick tile in my last house and they crumbled into pieces. It was a mess to take them up! Never again! I also put peel and stick subway tile in the kitchen. It looks really great. I covered an old coffee table with peel and stick wallpaper and it looks so much better. Thanks for all your great videos!
I purchased peel and stick tiles from Walmart, and Home Depot. I tried them in my home bathroom before I downsize to an apartment. Glad I did! The Walmart one was impossible to correctly interlock the pieces. The vinyl one from HD was a little better at interlocking. Both pulled paint off the wall when I tried to remove them. It’s Benjamin Moore paint, so we’re talking the high quality paint. The third piece, also from HD, is about 1/3” thick, and the pieces lock together perfectly. As for “peeling right off”, um, I need to get behind it with a flat edge and pry it off. Looks like I’m going to have to repaint my “experiment” wall.
I am not a renter, but need help getting my house looking pulled together, and I'm going to use several of these ideas to bring my house up to par! thanks for the tips and ideas!
Hi Kristen, I have never seen your channel before until this evening. I had my own condo for 20 years and the painters that the former owner hired, the painters were terrible with what I call curtains. The drips that run down the wall and dry. I wish I had known about peel and stick paper back then. I am now in a house after 20 years being in the condo and my only rent is to pay utilities but I am limited on what I can do here. I am allowed to decorate the porch so it maybe over down now but some people's standards but it has a beachy nautical feel and I made the throw pillows myself with shell fabric. I have a carpet on order with navy blue and white anchors. The kitchen is in need big time of tender loving care. I would love to have the kitchen repainted and the cabinets have a facelift. Yiu are very pretty and thanks for some great inspirations.
Ugh helloooo, 3:34 was thinking I don't want to hang from my ceiling but I sure can solve other craft puck lighting issues with this hook. Thanx for the tip.
Totally going to use the contact paper and backsplash!!. Moving into an outdated rental but it's overall a really amazing space!! Has new floors, new paint, and new appliances - but the counter, cabinets, and backsplash are very 1980
Wallpaper decals look amazing. They transform the textured white wall from something you'd want to hide to something that looks purposeful and enhances the look. Glad I stumbled across this channel!
I've had only moderate success with Command strips. I used them to hang art in 7 different apartments, and had about 50% of them take off chunks of the wall. It's especially bad with new apartment, because the new wallboard most use HATE command strips.
I'm total agreement. I've had mixed outcomes with Command products. I've followed instructions to the "t", and the picture, mirror . . . falls on the follower.
I have had success with 3M but I ONLY use the velcro ones. That way when you remove things from the wall (like paintings) you aren't directly pulling the one that's on the wall off. Then I carefully pull the tabs to remove from the wall. Otherwise its always damaged wall for me.
This was so helpful , I’m in rented and although my landlord and his wife are lovely they are not big on re-painting and modernising the apartments , so I’m going to do some peel and stick , love the wallpaper 👍🏻 and floor tiles .
I’ve been thinking about using some of these products in our RV. There are so many things you have to do in RV’s to prep for paint and these are a whole lot easier!
Great DIY renter video! This answered so many of my questions and showed me how easy and affordable it is to transform a space that needs to be easily restored back to its original condition. I'll be watching more of your videos! 😄
First thing I want to say is I love love love your videos. I recently moved into the apartment of my dreams..only problem was the outdated kitchen. I am obsessed with everything and anything marble. I decided to go bold and with contact paper, resurfaced my counters with a gorgeous black Marble print! It now looks so rich and expensive. Also, I bought this stunning white Marble peel and stick wallpaper for a small hallway that opens up into a bathroom and two bedrooms and it made the tiny hallway look so much bigger and again, so rich. Now today I am using a silvery Marble contact paper for the glass kitchen table, coffee table and end tables. Just the glass part. I like to be original and stand out whenever possible. Also, I too have Cricut Maker and the Explore Air 2, and I just can't seem to stop creating. I am saving up to purchase the mug press which at the moment seems to be an impossible task but one can only dream :) Keep the videos coming, you are incredibly beautiful and a huge inspiration for a crafter and DIYer like myself. Thank you!!
This is so smart to do, I like it cause over time I like to change things cause I get bored and want to switch things around without spending lots of money and time.
I'm not a renter but I'm definitely thinking of the floor tiles for my entry to cover the plain tile we have. I have textured walls also and had been wondering how the wall tile would look and adhere, thanks for doing that one!
Kristen!! I love that you did this on orange peel walls. Others have said not to do it because the bumps show through, some of the packaging even says don't use on textured walls, and I shyed away because of that. Thank you for showing that you can still do it!! 💐
Love the woven pendant with puck light. I can definitely use that set up in my house. Awesome! I just ordered the woven pendant, puck lights and ceiling hooks. Thank you.
Command strips have ceiling hooks? My world has changed, I'm so tired of hole-poking my ceilings. And those tiles are pretty dope. I love the look of tile (esp. those modern grid patterns), but the permanence of it is intimidating. I've been putting green tile in my bathroom, and I wish I considered the peel-and-stick option more.
Great video Kristen, I would like to try the tile decals for the floor in my bathroom!! Also, I would like to try the Wall Pops or Wall Decals as an accent wall in my bathroom. Thanks for all the tips these are great!!
Be very careful with the peel and stick back splash! Whatever brand the previous owners of our home used, damaged the drywall behind it when we pulled it off! We ended up having to re: skim coat the wall in order to paint.
You've gotta get the kind that wont do that, usually they're a bit more expensive but worth it in the end because getting crappy ones just sort of defeat the purpose lol.
I have to get those ceiling hooks ive had some pendant lights ive been wanting to hang for like a year now but i didnt want to put holes in the ceiling thank u soo much!!
Oh wow! Seeing you use Vinyl on bumpy walls just made my heart sing! lol. I've got these god awful textured walls that are plaster. The house is so old I'm scared to drill into them cause IDK WTF is hiding behind that, lol. I didn't think anything would stick to them so we've been living here for 4yrs now with bare walls. I just happen to have a Cricut so I'm going to get on making some wall decals. Eek!!
I just got the black wood textured contact paper for my bathroom. I will use a tiny amount of white glue mixed with water to run down the seams after the contact paper is up just in case. White glue is apartment friendly
Home owner here. I have nice tile throughout our home but the peel&stick tiles might be fun to lay as a "faux rug" like in an entry way, middle of kitchen or under coffee table in living room. I'm getting all sorts of ideas.... 😁
I like the wallpaper but would say take the time to match the pattern. Even on busy patterns you can tell and it makes a difference in upping your style game

Any ideas for transforming the fridge when they are not looking good anymore?
I'd love to change the price of my rent, which has increased by $600 bucks lmao!

I want to know how well the peel and stick tile and everything does when you clean it ? Like mopping or spraying with cleaning products
Yes I wanna ask the same question. I mop frequently too
They get damaged quickly at 6 months you can wash them with water
