That is an incredible point! No one talks about what it takes to remove peel and stick wall paper or vinyl flooring or how long it can last or stay up if used in other ways. I didn't even consider thickness as a factor in addition to the adhesive. Thank you so much for sharing your experience - really appreciate it!
I use it to line the insides of my dressers so my clothes don't snag on wood and for a fun pop of color. It is super hard to remove if it's been in place for a long time. I can't imagine how much work cleaning adhesive off an entire wall(s) would be😐
I just removed 3 layers of peel-and-stick vinyl tiles. I've done quite a bit of work myself in my home and this was one of the WORST jobs I ever did. Even after I finally got them all up with the help of a heat gun, there is a very thick layer of extremely sticky glue left. I own my home so was able to let it dry and get ceramic tile installed, but no way are the vinyl tiles renter-friendly.
I bought peel and stick for floors from a big box hardware store. We paid to have the floors done. They are lipping and popping up all over. We actually want to pull them all (the whole home) up and put in carpet. Carpet will also help insulate our floors better.
FYI everyone. If you stick a layer of contact paper down on your floor first and then put the peel and stick tiles on top of that itll come off clean everytime. Just make sure you cover your entire floor with contact paper first!
I don’t think it would create mold, as Ive seen someone use a shower curtain liner then apply the tiles on top, which I think plastic would create mold from humidity.
I hope ppl run across this video on their research for peel and stick. I enjoyed how honest and informative this is. Especially those who are renters and run the risk of learning the hard way.
Last year we did peel and stick vinyl tile marble in the basement bathroom. We tiled and grouted it. It’s definitely more permanent than people think!!
Years ago we bought a house where someone previously had used those peel and stick carpet tiles in the living and dinning rooms. Then someone later had tried to remove it. We were stuck with two rooms with patchwork effect of tiles across part of each room, some clean hardwood flooring in areas and some floor covered in black goop from the glue residue. We were struggling with getting the mess up until by accident we found something that got the goop up fairly easier. One of our dogs had an accident and we used a cheap pet urine cleaner from a dollar store for the accident and noted that it loosened up the glue residue as well - better than the Goop Be Gone we were trying to use.
@@vanessagonzalez5484 I think it was one from one of the cheap ones from a dollar store. Not really sure since it was several years ago. Think it was from Dollar Tree.
I used command poster strips to put my peel and stick up. Never removed the backing. It's in the kitchen covering back and side of wall near the stove. It looks like stainless steel. That makes it renter friendly. I haven't had to clean grease off my bare walls in 5 yrs. Easiest clean up ever!

@@angiet3535 yes I removed it. The worse thing I encountered was sticky residue. I used good off to get it right up. It was pretty simple. I even used contact paper on the counter tops and it was also easy to remove.
Glad I saw this before we spent a few hundred dollars redoing the floors in my daughters 1st apartment! She’s sad to be stuck with the brown tile she hates, but glad she’s more likely to get her deposit back. Guess we will invest the floor tile money into a really lovely area rug instead.
@Belinda Burns you can get the vinyl planks that stick onto one another. I know trafficmaster have some. They don’t stick to the floor , they stick into each other and they are easy to take up.
I installed click lock over the floors of my last house rental. The landlord liked them so much they paid me to not remove them. I charged what I paid for them plus labor and still got my full deposit back on move out. They were able to increase the rent on the next tenant due to the uograde!
I should have asked about that in my last apartment! It was in sorry shape when I got it. My father and I sanded and bleached the floors, put in a backsplash and installed ceramic tiles on the kitchen floor, painted, fixed all the cracks and holes in the walls and floors, replaced the cabinets, even soundproofed a wall and replaced the broken toilet. That apartment got quite an upgrade because of me, and we should've been paid for that labor when I moved out. Didn't even occur to me. Whoever got that place after me really lucked out.
This video just randomly came into my feed and I’m so glad it did, because not only am I obsessed with DIY and loved all the well thought out info you presented, but both of you have what may be the most pleasant voices I’ve ever heard in a UA-cam video. I would honestly listen to you take turns reading random Wikipedia articles lol.
As a renter, you have to be careful about which peel and stick you use. 'Get permission' is always the best way to go about things. There is an easy stick shelf liner that DOES peel off with out any issues. It is for cabinet shelves, but I used on an old, beat up microwave cart (sides as well as shelves) and it works fine. But - I don't have kids so it isn't getting banged about. Peel and stick tiles can be wonderful if you take your time and install it correctly. It can be cheaper or it can be very expensive. But it isn't coming up easy peesey. It isn't really 'renter friendly'.
Put down rosin paper to cover the floor then the peel and stick tile for renter. Use double dided tape on the paper to the floor. Never grout in a rental. Contact paper is an option for a temp backslash and its cheaper than p&s backslash tiles. Still always get permission for any decor in a rental. If changing light fixtures , always save the originals as they are permanent, unless you leave the new. I've done this with light fixtures and shower heads , faucets, cabinet hardware . I've even done wall to wall carpet with double sided tape. As long as you have the original permanent fixtures to put back ? You can take all of your fixtures with you. You can even change out the light switch plates. Always put back to original state upon moving unless you and your landlord have made another agreement. My sister in law put in new fixtures when the old ones were all beat up. She tried to take them with her and was faced with losing her security since she threw away the old ones. Her original landlord know bit he sold the property and the new landlord had no such agreement with her. In cases like that you should always get it in writing or as an amendment to the lease agreement.
If there is any texture to the area, like a sheetrock wall with multiple layers of paint, contact paper doesn't stick. I think that's why the peel and stick has gotten so popular. It just sucks that it might take paint off with it.
Don't forget the fumes that peelable wallpaper, flooring etc can give off and not ideal for small rooms for infants, children, animals such as birds that could be sensitive, or if you have respiratory issues or allergies. Adequate ventilation is needed to vent these fumes. The fumes come from the adhesives and plastic properties of the product. Also, to remove products a hairdryer on low may help soften the adhesive on sticky backed plastic. Wear a suitable respirator if using this method
Thank you for this. As a lifelong renter, I'm always afraid of using stuff like peel & stick products because I don't want to mess up my apartment for the deposit, etc. I'm very conscientious about the places I live in, so hearing another opinion about these products is extremely helpful!
"Renter friendly" command hooks: stuck to the wall, hung 5 oz thing, fell off the wall, ripped 2" of paint and spackle, creating sizeable hole, took 30 min to fix (reapply spackle and repaint). Regular hook with nail: held on and tiny nail hole took 5 min to fix. Added bonus: regular hook cost 25% of command hook. The truth: "renter friendly" products are a ripoff. Thank you for bringing this truth forward ♥
@@Rach1313Same here. I understand that most users experience problems because 1: wrong Command product for task 2: Not properly prepping surfaces 3: Not following application process precisely There’s a reason Command products are so popular, but you need to consider how you use them.
Yes, command hooks may NOT be renter-friendly, especially if the drywall is not well done. It’ll easily rip off drywall if something falls off and pulls the hook/strip with it. If your home has a lot of humidity, the command hook loses its effectiveness, and it falls off the wall, sometimes pulling drywall off the wall. You’re better off using a regular hook with a nail. It’s sturdier, and it’s easier to fix at moveout with a tiny hole versus ripped off drywall.
@@Jennifer_Lewis_Beach_LivingIt sure is you are 100% correct! :) Here in lovely virginia with its usual 90% humidity :) All adhesive fails here not only command hooks. I had construction adhesive fail before due to too much humidity. I now have to buy its special landscaping variety which costs A LOT.
As a renter I would never do anything to the flooring … but I have done peel and stick tiles over ugly kitchen wall tiles and they come off easy on that
I know what I’m doing this weekend, binging your Peel & Stick playlist. I just got some for a backsplash in my guest bath, and just from this video I feel better about it. I’m not a renter, so I don’t need to pull it up, I’m happy to hear it will stay put. Thank you for this video, nobody ever talks about this.
This is so true! I've been saying this for a while. I think that speaking with the Landlord on a lon term rental about making these changes would be a smart choice. I'm renting temporarily and don't plan on being here next year so I definitely wouldn't invest $200 + on DIY projects. My kitchen is "Ugly" and I would love to transform it but I said why waste my money. So I just added some decor and it looks a little better. Lol
I had peel and stick tiles on my kitchen counter. Yesterday I wanted to take it off. A living hell. I used warm iron over a cloth to make it easy to take it off. It was not. After I took four tiles off there is a huge, sticky mess under it. I have goop removal but it did not remove the sticky stuff. I put back four of these tiles and now have to have a new kitchen counter. Never again peel and stick for me. Thank you for your video. It is educational.
I put peel and stick, supposedly removable, we'll see, on my stone backsplash in the kitchen. I was just thinking of removing it, not realizing what a mess I might be in for. Wish me luck.
another comment elsewhere on here mentioned that they randomly discovered enzyme cleaners work even better than the "goo" removers, might try that, usually they're listed as great for pet urine stains etc find em any retail cleaning aisle
Lots of experience here, get permission! Peel and stick put on correctly is next to permanent and can be harder to remove than simply cutting out the floor/wall and replacing it. It’s not easy to remove like say, wallpaper. It could cost you and your landlord big bucks to take out. Not renter friendly.
@ d flowers and diy power couple, you people really annoy me as it's just not as simple as that when money is tight and landlord never updates the property. My landlord only provides general maintenance so some of us have no alternative!!!
@@Rachael121 It doesn't cost extra to get permission. Have you ever asked your landlord for permission to make an update to the property, providing you provide the materials and labour? Your landlord will probably say yes, but may want to see what you intend to do to his property, as is his right.
Roofing paper works great and protects the floor under and easy to remove. This system has been used since glue down linoleum. I have a hundred year old building with a maple wood floor under layers (3) of linoleum and peel and stick. I removed all flooring, to get to the maple floor. It was easy and the maple floor, sanded and sealed, looks wonderful. Just an option for easy removal.
I had my kitchen floor done with a peel and stick that looks great , but everytime I drop something it leaves a dent, which means it must be too thin. I wish I’d looked for something thicker instead of trying to save money. The backsplash looks amazing, and really updated my kitchen as I’ve been in the same apartment almost 25 years. I also did my bathroom floor, my landlord is also my boss and I was able to have all of my peel and stick tiles put down by contractors who work for our company. That really made all the difference in achieving the professional look I wanted.
Thank you so much for your honesty! I just watched a video for renters about peel and stick and nothing was said about it sticking or leaving residue. You guys rock!
So informative. I didn't know you could grout the peel and stick to make it look even realer. And I never thought to use it on all those other surfaces you showed. I already have it as my kitchen backsplash. Everybody thought it was real. Please keep the videos coming!
Thank you so much for this video. I own my home, but I'm a widow and I'm learning how to do things by myself. I have been looking for ideas on a backsplash. I'm definitely going to check out more of your videos! God bless!
On walls where we used a plastic texture paint we would often use a cheap peel able paper wall vinyl (wallpaper) first . That way when you want to remove the surface product it came off easy leaving the paper backing . I wonder if this would be a thing . I also helps with the porosity of the wall allowing the product to stick evenly. The wall would have to be prepared and sealed well prior to hanging the wallpaper otherwise this could cause an issue . This might be worth a trying on a wall panel to see if it works . Just a thought
I love my groutable peel and stick tile. Transformed my kitchen and dining room for 400 bucks. I even ran it at a 45 to the room (many more cuts) but it was worth it!
THANK YOU for making this video. It’s a much needed reality check. I love that you went over all of the options and their capabilities. I have seen far too many “renter friendly” products take a chunk of drywall and plaster with it when it’s removed (command strip, I’m looking at you.)
As a landlord, if I know if renter is capable, I will happily pay for some supplies. If it improves the house. I have been burned because everyone thinks they can paint! 😂
I hope wear I’m moving they allow it! They have the most god awful flooring and the installation is dated and lazy!!! It looks like peal and stick flooring gone wrong😂 It’s so bad! My fault for looking only at the model and not my actual unit!!! My bf does flooring. Really really good! Hopefully they let me do it. Hell he might get a new contract he’s just that good.
Unfortunately many landlords really also do painting and renovating by themselves even they really don't know how. That's why people want to use " peel and stick" and paint and all other things. I just did fix our new landlords mistakes he made with painting walls. I can't stand a mess people do when they don't know how to paint...
I used nice peel and stick with grout to cover over my ugly 80's bathroom vinyl. It was cheap, easy, and quick. Best of all it's more durable than the builders grade original flooring and it looks great!
@@latoyaamb3r That depends on a number of things. Is the vinyl floor the original layer? It's possible that the vinyl you see is already a second layer. I probably wouldn't add a third. I'd remove both layers, so the peel-n-stick can be the first. Some old cheap vinyl was very soft, almost cushiony. I wouldn't use grout over that because there could be enough movement when people step hard for the grout to crack. What condition is the previous vinyl in? If there are holes or the vinyl isn't adhering well anymore, it may be better to remove the old vinyl. In my case, there was one edge under the counter about 1. 5" by 15" that was curling up. My peel-n-stick was the same thickness as the old vinyl, so I used a straight edge to cut out a 2 x 17 inch wide rectangle from the old vinyl where it curled. I made sure that none of the old edges needed reglued and cut a matching strip from a peel-n-stick tile to fill the hole. It looked silly, but since it was the same thickness it filled the hole to the same height. I gave a day or two to make sure the strip stuck well, and then I used peel-n-stick over the whole floor including the patch. I also removed the toilet so the tiles could go under which will make it easy to remove the toilet if I ever need to in the future. I did not caulk the toilet--if there's ever a problem with the wax ring, I want to see the water (rather than force the water under the tile or subfloor), so I can repair the problem. I used caulk around the tub and under the cabinet toe kick, so water can't leak under the tiles. It looked fantastic and was really easy. One tip, peel-n-stick tile is difficult to remove, so lay out all the tiles ahead, so you can make sure repeating patterns match (if it has a geometric pattern) or don't match (if it's supposed to look natural like stone).
Yooo, thank you guys for the video! I am poor, so i am always on the lookout for affordable ways to possibly update my trailer home. wow...that was very informative!!!...you guys gave me a great idea for an island that I can't afford to remove/replace...I also didn't think of peel and stick for my floors!!!...I wonder if I can use it on top of the existing tile?...i guess that's another video!!!...
I love the use of white as the main color and the light shades of gray as the highlight. I'd love to work a light shade of blue into my kitchen, even though gray seems to be the way to go with white cabinets.
You all are a beautiful couple! I own my house, but need to save up for a massive update to my 1979 townhouse. I'm using peel and stick for a tempory fresh look and to experiment with potential styles before dropping the big bucks. I already did a kitchen wall with peel and stick, which aside from a few touch ups with super glue, it's been strong. It's installed over the stove so I expected the heat to effect the adhesive. Doing the floor next with traffic master, but considering not using grout so that it will be easier to remove later. Does it look weird without grout?
Hi Coach! It really is a preference to grout or not. Peel and stick planks and intricate designs are examples where you can place the tiles right next to each other without grouting. Do a dry layout before sticking to see if you like the look. 😀
One of my tenants used peel and stick vinyl tiles, and when I removed them they all had black mold under them. They were laid directly over concrete floors in Florida.
@@DIYPowerCouple not in this case. The ground became saturated with water from hurricane Ian and the concrete wicked up the moisture. It never flooded inside. The vinyl trapped the moisture but the edges were loose enough to allow mold to grow. You do not grout peel and stick vinyl tiles. That was just a weird response.
Is it best to lay a base of painters tape before laying peel a stick products? I was told this will protect the original product and makes easier to remove without damage
I agree with you on your last point about it not being rental friendly, and that it can mess up the paint if you peel it off wrong, but...... there are people who are in rentals and really want to have nice decorative walls and flooring, so although it may cost a lot more money and it may not be as easy. But for the purpose of making it look nice, living in a decorative stylish home. I think some people will compromise.
Thank you! I am doing our guest bath as we speak. This is my 1st attempt at Any of this and I have zero self confidence. You just gave me some good advice and I am going to go the grout look. I want it to look upscale bc it’s such a tiny room. Thanks so much!
I will never forget the time I put peel-and-stick "wood" planks on a wall in our laundry room - only to find all of them on the floor the next morning. Yes, there may have been angry tears. I did proceed to nail every one of them down, but no, I would not do that again.
I'm sorry I'm trying to make my living room and kitchen all black and white and I need those floors to be marble looking cuz the floor is brown and that's not working for me😅 but that plywood idea is very good. We can just stick the peel and stick to the plywood🙌🏾 Now which peel and stick was the best for flooring?
Very helpful as we now shop to replace our click together floating floor after only 2 years. Did not realize a floating floor is a terrible choice for a mobile home, what with all the flexing such a structure allows. Even a little has been enough to pop & chip each plank. Truly hope peel & stick will actually stay put. Maybe in your next video you can address different types of dwellings suitable for peel & stick tiles as well as what type of sub flooring is best. This has been an expensive lesson.
Peel and stick will work with your flooring. Just prep it right and do as they did with theirs and grout and seal it. The adhesive is extremely strong for the floor tiles. You can always look into adding extra adhesive when applying.
Oh, on Facebook there are a couple of DIY Mobile Home Restoration & Remodel groups (some have budget-friendly in the title). There also may be some videos here on YT. Anyway, I've seen a lot of great ideas and nice remodels done, using numerous methods. One lady was saving up for her floors to be professionally done, but in the meantime, she had just the bare plywood floors exposed.. so she painted and sealed them using porch paint I think. I couldn't believe the turnout, it looked good. I've seen several posts mention that they use wallpaper and vinyl wraps to update their kitchen on a budget.
You two are super cute together, and I really enjoyed your explanation of these useful products. I have used peel and stick on floors many times in the past, but I have never thought about going the next step and using grout to accentuate the flooring. Good job, I will try this technique myself in the future! Just my 2 cents worth. Peace.

Renter friendly if you are intermediate at design. Also always ask the landlord/leasing office. Repaint if you peel the paint off.(I find higher quality finished paint doesn't peel)As for the flooring foam floors are renter friendly.
Thank you! I needed this video to make a decision about peel and stick. It will work as a temporary backsplash in my kitchen while I decide on something more permanent. It won't work as a tub surround because it looks like it will take as much effort as ceramic.
This is a very informative video. Thank you for the concise information with visual examples. By the way, the lady's makeup and head wrap deserve their own videos. Very fresh and natural.
I like that you mentioned you can walk around on a new peel & stick vinyl floor to help it stick. The floor roller HD has for rent is 75 pounds and I weigh 160. Plus walking around on the floor for 1/2 hour is good exercise. I paid close to $400 for 300 sq ft of vinyl tiles and seems like HD could just let me have the roller for a few hours for free. I was fine walking around on the new tile. One thing of note, it seems like 12" square good quality peel and stick is disappearing from the market. The vinyl plank and laminate flooring seems to be the most common DYI flooring now. Thanks for your video. 👍🏼
Nothing compares to a human "floor roller". lol We have been wondering where all the peel and stick options at the home improvement stores have gone, too!
One thing with peel and stick backsplashes is that the front of the tiles warps and separates from the backing after a while. As much as I love mine, I will be taking it down and installing ceramic subway tile, which is inexpensive and DIY friendly. If you're renting, just ask your landlord if they mind you installing simple white ceramic tile. Chances are they'll be thrilled for the free upgrade.
It’s very expensive to buy your own home (down payment, closing costs, insurance, etc.) maybe they can’t afford to buy and don’t mind spending a little to have a better looking rental. Occasionally you can find a landlord that will allow you to deduct the cost of materials from your rent. That way you’re only out your labor. Before my husband and I bought our first home we had a very sweet landlady who allowed us to deduct any necessary repairs from the rent. She was an elderly lady and was glad to do this as she only paid for supplies and my husband did the labor.
I always wondered, wouldn't it damage whatever it sticks to? Like if the adhesive is strong enough to not just come off after a year of walking around, it's gonna probably peel off paint or finish or whatever when you force it off
Have you ever looked at a floor that's a few years old? I did one for a relative and a couple of years later I noticed that the tiles actually shrunk. I had put them down as tight as possible, touching. Now there's a crack between pretty much every tile about the thickness of two or three credit cards maybe. I did have the tiles in the room for a day or two to acclimate them to the temperature as I think was recommended by the manufacturer. But in the end it didn't really matter.
We have always used premixed grout on our peel and stick projects so we haven't seen the shrinkage. The grout keeps the tiles from moving and it creates a waterproof 💦 barrier 🚧. It takes more time, but the tiles last a lot longer without lipping. 😀
Thank you! I own a home and moved into an apartment about six months ago (don’t ask). I wanted to test peel and stick removable backsplash style tiles, so I applied three different ones to my house bathroom. @@cv8499I would have loved to have you as a tenant!!! That sounds amazing. The landlord should have offered!
What a beautiful, watchable couple❤
This video just randomly came into my feed and I’m so glad it did, because not only am I obsessed with DIY and loved all the well thought out info you presented, but both of you have what may be the most pleasant voices I’ve ever heard in a UA-cam video. I would honestly listen to you take turns reading random Wikipedia articles lol.
🤔 You may be on to something! 📖
Mine too and I’m glad it did
As a renter, you have to be careful about which peel and stick you use.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Oh yikes! How long does the smell take to evaporate if I may ask??
wow thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for the information. Can you please tell how long the fumes lasts. That will be a problem for me. Thanks.💯
Thank you for this. As a lifelong renter, I'm always afraid of using stuff like peel & stick products because I don't want to mess up my apartment for the deposit, etc. I'm very conscientious about the places I live in, so hearing another opinion about these products is extremely helpful!
You're welcome
Me too... That is why I just plan to use peel and stick on my own furniture as my contract clearly says to to make holes or stick anything
You're welcome, Anna. Thanks for sharing your story. -DIYPC 😃✨
That's interesting. I've never actually had a problem from using command products.
@@Rach1313Same here. I understand that most users experience problems because
1: wrong Command product for task
2: Not properly prepping surfaces
3: Not following application process precisely
There’s a reason Command products are so popular, but you need to consider how you use them.
You're welcome 😊
This is so true! I've been saying this for a while. I think that speaking with the Landlord on a lon term rental about making these changes would be a smart choice. I'm renting temporarily and don't plan on being here next year so I definitely wouldn't invest $200 + on DIY projects. My kitchen is "Ugly" and I would love to transform it but I said why waste my money. So I just added some decor and it looks a little better. Lol
We understand. Very smart 🤓.
Thanks for sharing your experience! 🤗
I respect you guys for your honesty, you don't get much of that on youtube.
Great tip!
So do it incorrectly and I’m fine? 😃
What if you use painters tape underneath? Like a barrier between the paint and the adhesive?
Rational and realistic assessment. This was long-overdue. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing, Richard! 😊
Doesn't matter what the flooring is. If you drop something anything will dent except tile but sometimes tile will crack.
So nice to hear a bunch of truth rather than one perspective. Thanks
Thank you, Lisa. You are right...they do look "real."

That peeland stick on the bathroom wall looks amazing ! What a great idea never thought you could do that. Beautiful job A+
What a beautiful couple! Thanks for the for the truth about these products, & the pros & cons of when & where you might use them. ❤❤❤
Our pleasure!🤗
Nice! Great when a DIY project works out & is pretty, too!!
Is it safer to use let’s say peel and stick backsplash when you’ve first lay a contact paper or double sided sticky paper?
Veronica, laying adhesive on top of adhesive will make things a little hard when you have to remove the bottom layer.
THANK YOU for making this video. It’s a much needed reality check. I love that you went over all of the options and their capabilities. I have seen far too many “renter friendly” products take a chunk of drywall and plaster with it when it’s removed (command strip, I’m looking at you.)
Your comment was fantastic 👏
Adorable couple!!❤
So grateful for this video and your honest take on this product! I already know it saved me some problems!
We're all about saving money and removing problems. Glad we could help! 😀
You two are a lovely couple! Thanks so much for the great tips!

I used nice peel and stick with grout to cover over my ugly 80's bathroom vinyl. It was cheap, easy, and quick. Best of all it's more durable than the builders grade original flooring and it looks great!
So you don’t have to take up the vinyl flooring? You put the peel and stick over it?

So did the heat of the stove have any effect as of yet?
One of my tenants used peel and stick vinyl tiles, and when I removed them they all had black mold under them. They were laid directly over concrete floors in Florida.
Someone let water in the room and did not grout between the tiles.
You guys are an answer to my Prayer🙏🏻❤️

What a lovely couple, and family you are! I really enjoyed watching your video. Thank you.

Is it best to lay a base of painters tape before laying peel a stick products? I was told this will protect the original product and makes easier to remove without damage
To us, placing adhesive on top of adhesive will have the same outcome. It may be harder to peel off (remove) tape over time because it could shred.
To ease removal, invest the time to use a hair dryer to heat the peel n stick material as you remove it.
Thanks for the tip.
I'm so glad that I found this
thank you for that will help us with some decisions with my son's first apartment. Old building in NYC.
Thank you for doing this video. I have waited for an honest video before I Invest any money and time into it.
Your welcome, Whisperwoman. 😃
You are right. Everyone has to count the cost and go forward with what they think is right for them. It also helps if you can fix things yourself.😊

I will never forget the time I put peel-and-stick "wood" planks on a wall in our laundry room - only to find all of them on the floor the next morning. Yes, there may have been angry tears. I did proceed to nail every one of them down, but no, I would not do that again.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. 🤗
I'm sorry I'm trying to make my living room and kitchen all black and white and I need those floors to be marble looking cuz the floor is brown and that's not working for me😅 but that plywood idea is very good. We can just stick the peel and stick to the plywood🙌🏾
Now which peel and stick was the best for flooring?

Renter friendly if you are intermediate at design. Also always ask the landlord/leasing office. Repaint if you peel the paint off.(I find higher quality finished paint doesn't peel)As for the flooring foam floors are renter friendly.
Thanks for the great intel! You guys are adorbs!
Thank you! I needed this video to make a decision about peel and stick. It will work as a temporary backsplash in my kitchen while I decide on something more permanent. It won't work as a tub surround because it looks like it will take as much effort as ceramic.

I own my home but your tips are very helpful. I'll be purchasing the floor peel and stick. Thank you.
Good to know, glad I came across this video as I was about to spend money for my daughters bathroom in Dorm life. Thank you

Hi Jilly! 😃Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Why would you want to "upgrade" someone else's property? Save your money and buy your own.
Thank you for a very comprehensive video.
Thank you, getting ready to do my foyer, you removed the doubt on peel and stick.
I love you two , you work so well together and your so easy to watch !! Thanks for the information!!!

very useful and informative video, thank you
I always wondered, wouldn't it damage whatever it sticks to? Like if the adhesive is strong enough to not just come off after a year of walking around, it's gonna probably peel off paint or finish or whatever when you force it off
Ashley, that's why people should have the skills to repair what is underneath before doing this in a rental. 😊

Thank you for this information. I feel better about using it to update my bathroom floors.
