From my short but very successful experience with wrapping, I heat tension even the flat surfaces for a strong bong. I stary exactly as you with peeling off a small amount and folding but after the first initial full stick of that amount I move forward with heat tensioning the rest
So like any corner you just have to be careful and take your time lol glad I learned to do this on a car before building my own tables and drawers to wrap
I feel cheated! I really would have loved to see how you put the film on the back side of the board. To see how you cut the film to make it look uniform
Great tutorial! Will this method work on a board with rounded holes inside? I want to wrap my radiator cover somehow. I think it would be much easier to hot tension all those holes than trying to trace and cut out the foil.
how did it work out ?! facing a similar issue. i will use heat to mold the film into the creeces, i don't know if this solution will last over the years though ...
@@secession77 yeah, this just looks to be a short term solution. although i think it will last 2-3 years if applied properly, until i get the chance to remodel
@@ARTESIVE you showed that how you install the first side along with corners. At the end of the video, you flipped over to show the other side without describing it. I wanna know how did you cut the edges without seeing the attachment.

Hello I have an ikea cabinet door that is mdf. There are little parts that has already bubbled because of moisture. Can i still salvage it and cover with contact paper?
normal temperature is about 150°C at normal distance, but it depends also about time you warm and distance.. make some test and find your ideal setting.
You mean using it on compound curves ? I would think that if it works on that fairly sharp, curved corner a compound curve would be easy, using the heat gun. I have to update my kitchen cupboard doors, and intend to use it on them.Every corner is a compound curve. Even on my old kitchen, the covering on the corners was beginning to de -laminate,where there was any heat.So even professionally made cupboard doors can have problems. But I am sure after a couple of failed attempts I will get the hang of it. Cheaper than replacement doors. Similar film is used on Cars ,and compound curves come in abundance on vehicles. Give it a go. Hope all goes well on your project. Don.
The temperature used depends a lot on the film, the distance and the work you are doing. Generally a temperature of 150-200 °C (300-400 °F) is used. However, it is possible to use a normal hairdryer, the time will be longer due to the lower temperature.
This is definitely one of them random things u go to do. Buy a heat gun, all the materials u plan to use and realise it’s actually like trying to speak fluent Chinese after 2 half hour lessons
I usually precut for the back to make sure I do not slice through folded over edges of front film. Matching grain or pattern is also important for good look. I move film around until I find good pattern match and then mark that spot and then draw exact required size and shape of the back from that mark. Then apply as usual - peel a little backing, fold backing paper, and start pressing. Takes a while oftentimes.
Hi, thanks for the info. Would like to ask. Can it be stick on a plywood or mdf board door.? Do i need to sand it and apply primer before applying this vinyl film?
Hello. Yes it is better to sand it before.. On MDF surfaces we suggest to smooth the surface before apply the vinyl and use the primer especially on corners or edges, such our Magnum Primer for example. You can find it on our official website artesive.com
I did this tonight for something in my bfs van. Except I used my hairdryer to stretch and it come out perfect! Thanks 😊
great

Should you put some nails to really lock to vinyl on cabin?
well, at the moment it's still there in right position without any nail.. maybe you are used to low quality vinyls.
