    Ping G30 Irons reviewed and tested by Mark Crossfield PGA professional AskGolfGuru. The new Ping iron takes over from the Ping 25 and features high MOI and easy to hit qualities. The larger headed Ping G30 iron looks classic Ping and will appeal to a wide range of handicap golfers. See if the Ping G30 could help you play some better golf and lower your scores.

    I'm 13 using some Ping isi irons and I love them. I would honestly recommend getting them over newer clubs, as they are cheap, have a great feel, and nice workability if you are to that point in your game.

    I hit them at a pro shop the other day and noticed a complete difference to the TMs I was also hitting. I currently hit TM and have really liked them, but, these just feel far superior (IMO). thanks for the video Mark. LOVE your work

    I'd love to see a trackman comparison between g2,g5,g10,g15,g25 & g30 irons .... I know ping don't pump put gear like tm do, but Atleast tm irons from ten years ago are significantly different from now.
    In fact some video reviews comparing older gear to the new stuff would be very interesting mark.

    I had a fitting today. Tried G20, 25 and 30 and I have to say that there was little between them. What I did notice is that as a high handicap player, I found the older clubs more stable and forgiving. So I bought a set of G20s. I'm not interested in fashion or having the latest thing, so the G20 irons were perfect for me and I saved a bit too.

    just saved me money Mark thank you. i will stick with my G25's I know Ping won't thank you for that but I have already seen a comment similar so multiply that a few times and that means lots of happy ping customers with modern gear albeit a year or two old :) and lots of new ping customers i think, can't beat an honest review thanks again :)

    I currently have Callaway Big Bertha's (2004) which were supposed to be very forgiving compared to everything else when they came out. Depending on whether you are familiar with them, are the G30's likely to be an improvement given 10 yrs advancement in technology etc. I already have G30 woods and hybrids that I am very happy with.

  • @154rjr

    the advantage of G30 over G25 is that you only need eight irons to cover 21 - 50 degrees span instead of nine irons for G25. It frees up space to carry another club. Both irons are excellent.

    hey Mark i was wondering on which Brand & Blades would you rather hit? I used to play the Ping i3 years ago and i jus got back into golf and bought my first set of Nike Coverts and loved them. now i'm playing with Nike VR TW Blades for my first set of Blades and i love them. i'll never go back to a chunky iron ever again, it's the feel and how much more your able to work the ball so easy and looking down before swinging the irons jus looking at a Blade is so much nicer. i was wondering what you thoughts on the Nike's Blades and Ping's Blades and which one you rather would play with. i've also hit the MP4 and to me they felt jus like the Nike's VR Pro

    Hi Mark, liking the reviews. I used to have a handicap in the single figures as a junior but haven't played much since. I've just started playing again in the last couple of months and am probably around a 20-25 handicap but I have the time and determination to get this down to the single figures again. I'm currently looking at the Ping i25 and g30 irons. Which would you recommend, bearing in mind that I don't want to have to buy another set of clubs in 2 years time? Thanks

    Mark I have just bought a new set of Cleveland 588 CB's. When testing the clubs the pro told me never use range balls when testing clubs, regarding shaping the ball, and general hitting.
    I was also told by American Golf that the range balls don't give you the correct feel or distance.
    My point to you is why don't you use what the average low to mid handicapper uses in golf balls i.e AD333 etc that type..
    Apart from that normally enjoy the video's . . .

    • @davidq3229
      @davidq3229 10 років тому

      If you watch the video, he clearly says that the numbers he shows are based on hitting Titleist ProV1x balls. Not the range balls.

    • @tigerbricks
      @tigerbricks 10 років тому

      David Q But he isn't hitting Pro V1 balls . . .

    • @davidq3229
      @davidq3229 10 років тому

      james eadie He is when he is taking launch monitor data. Go and look at the videos before and after this one. Notice anything? Mark's wearing the same clothes, meaning he recorded these on the same day. When he gives real ball numbers, there are usually only three or four recordings. In other recordings he's mentioned that he's already hit some real balls before he hits the range balls.
      Now Mark can correct me on this but he probably hit all the different clubs he was going to record with, with real ball at one time. This way his good, "expensive," ProV1xs could be picked up and not mixed in with the range balls.
      The driver numbers were probably taken inside anyway. Mark's said in the past that they have to use those range balls, because real balls with a driver will come to close to the homes in the background.

      Know it's a long time since it was posted, but to understand your mechanics look at Marks videos and use eg V1 golf app with your cell phone. Last summer I used it on tripods filmed 2-3 strokes checkad the video, and adjusted my self, it is possible to draw lines etc, to see if you have early extensions, over the top etc. Fixed my chicken wing and over the top issues. I also took some lesson where they used this. It is also a good tool to follow up after a couple of weeks practise, and you feeling have changed.

    • @RC_Trailblazers
      @RC_Trailblazers 9 років тому +1

      Kevin Reinartz Kevin, I'm not a professional golfer or even close by any means. If you are unsure if its a good time to upgrade or not go to your local golf shop that has an indoor range meaning computer generated "driving range" and go test out some new clubs, you may or may not get incredible results. You may end up sticking with the 15s or you may crush the new clubs and think to yourself.. Yes it's time for an upgrade! The best thing anyone can do in your situation is go out there and hit some of the new clubs. It's not gonna hurt to try some out. Good Luck buddy!

    • @KevinReinartz
      @KevinReinartz 9 років тому

      Thanks for the input Brian Fuhrmaneck I actually did go to a local golf shop and hit on gc2-hmt... G30s were very low spin and low launch for me... Actually out of all of the clubs surprisingly the Nike Vapor Pros were the best fit. Ended up taking them home after about a week of testing clubs... Had to get a new glove because I was swinging so much... Ball flight with the Nikes was much more consistent, higher trajectory, more spin, better distance control, I could hit the fade, draw, low, high, etc. Looking forward to playing with them this season. First couple rounds have been promising, still figuring out my distance with them though.

    So, making the lofts stronger and lengthen the clubs was almost bad on the Rocketbladez but is "lovely" on the G30? You were making such a big fuss about the lofts and length of the TMs or even any similar club but not on the Pings. I dont get it!
    It is obvious that the K or Karsten series will be discontinued. I guess the i-series is becoming the all new Ping standard-club if they aren't renaming them...

    Will everyone please stop saying "I am gaming these irons", it's not "gaming", it's either using or playing. "Gaming" is a stupid Americanism which you shouldn't use unless you're an American
