Simon, loving the channel, quick tip, if you are selling the clubs and don't want to regrip and spend £80 use Simple Green concentrate cleaner. It brings old rubber back to life. I've used it on grips which were slick and after spraying the cleaner on the grips and leaving for 20 minutes the grips were tacky again. It's well worth trying, you'll be surprised how well it works.
I’ll give it a try!
Perfect timing - looking to get out of my i20’s and your videos always drive the prices up! 👏
How much
Just bought the i20s on Saturday off the marketplace! £125 4-SW. glad I got in before the video 😂
Have you ever did a video on the Ping i3 o-size and the Ping i3 blade? These clubs are sized good and still very playable. I think they were one of the best Pings ever.
Love , love , love my ping clubs…they are as Simon implied “ Bulletproof “! They also play extremely well and can be much more forgiving compared to a forged muscleback irons.
I started playing Ping irons around 20 years ago when the i3’s came out. I loved the i10’s and played them until the I 25’s came out. These were two of my all time favorites out of the approximately 8 different Ping sets that I’ve played. Fast forward ; now I’m 64 and pretty banged up mostly from tennis and work related injuries and now I’m gaming the g425 irons. Big Ping fan here.
Still got my old i20’s can’t bring myself to sell them, they are still mint.
Me too. They still look amazing
Love my i25s. Feel as soft as any I’ve tried, cast clubs last forever (face still looks clean), and distances are so consistent.
Thanks Simon never thought about Ping as thought money would be to much. Goin to stick with my warbirds for this year as how much they cost and had to have them lengthened but defo something for the future. As set a goal of 14 hcp this year off 21 at the mo.
I recently purchased a set of I-10 pings 4 through pitching wedge, in very good condition 193.00 US dollars. I've had them out just to hit them and I found them very forgiving even though the heads are much smaller than any of the g-sized irons. You're right they're a lot cheaper and they're pretty good quality.
I've had them ever since they came out. Still use them. Great clubs
I ended up getting a set of Mizuno Quad irons 4-9 for $60 of an auction site, haven't played with them yet, but like them so far!
Bought a set of ping iblades just before the first lock down spent £200 came with project x rifle shafts in the to boot look great feel great love them
Another brilliant video. I don't understand how you don't have more subscribers. Your advice is amazing. Keep up the great work. Can't wait for the lockdown to finish and you are back on this full time. I thought the start of the video was a "milk" run :D
Thanks mate! Yeah dying to get back on the course to make some content. 🙌
@@SASGolf When you are back and we can travel, i am booking a lesson and driving up :)
Love my i20s. Great vid
I've i25 from 2014 when they came out 'love them. won't be changing anytime soon , great club's , I play off 10
Ping Clubs are quality!! I have a set of 1988 Ping Eye 2. They still play well and look great. My Wife plays them now. Also Ping will rebend them 2 degrees and regrip them for you. At a cost of course but that is what you call customer service.
Played some of my best golf with the Ping i15s ! Ugly as could be, but were great. Went to AP2s for about 6years, & my new i500s arrived today.! Super excited to be gaming Ping irons again!
So back when I first got in to golf I had a full set of ping G5s and the was in 08 to this day one of the best irons o have ever had the pleasure to hit 😀
Keep grinding brother!
I picked up a set of Ping G5's 5-pw, shafts rusted, grips worse. $20. But the heads were pretty much pristine. Found a set of Ping steel AWT 2.0 reg flex shafts with new Align grips on for $90. So for $110 and gaining some experience installing shafts and swing weighting clubs, have basically a brand new set of irons.
I've got i25s, they feel like butter out the middle. Cracking things, love them
My last Amazon purchase before lockdown last March Simon was some hair clippers ! Need to give mine a cut tomorrow, not easy with glasses on but its even harder when I take them off !! The blind barber !! Turns out OK in the end, so far anyway ! Great purchase even if I say so myself. I mean the hair clippers, not those shovel Ping clubs !! Ping irons just don't do it for me, they just look awkward to my eye. However, lots of people love them so I think you'll be sending loads of parcles once courses open again in 2 weeks. Our course is almost fully booked up for all of the first week already !
I have all my pings ,ping eye 2, isi, isik ,ping i 3 .Great video
I bought a set of almost mint condition PING i25 (4-PW) on eBay in 2018 for $325. I love them.
Had a set of i15’s since they were first released (currently 4 index) and managed to win a club champs with them. They do the job. Hoping to get a set of Mira TC201’s in the next year or two 🤞🏻
This is an Awesome review! I game the Ping IE1 series and LOVE them! Im a 14Hc ( good iron striker, bad driver!) I have plenty of speed ( 92mph 7i, 112 driver) Its near impossible to find a 'players' style iron thats not a blade or very small profile which doesnt exude the greatest of confidence. IF you try to move up in size a touch, youre stuck with bulky GI irons with jacked lofts. I want my clubs to hit specific numbers and trust every time is use, i get what i expect. The I series are phenomenal at this. Close to traditional lofts ( 29-30 6 iron, 32-33 7) give great distance control for the speed you put in and are pretty forgiving. No one does this better than Ping
Thanks for watching guys! Had to reupload due to audio cutting out at the end so apologies. Hopefully sorted it. Thanks guys.
Sir, I’m watching your old stuff. I purchased a set of pristine I5s. They work like champs!!
Yeah, I hear you. Sold my i20 3 years ago for around 200 including a hybrid and in mint condition. Played those for 6 years and those age well. Would pick em up any time again if I was on budget.
I had those. Really nice
Big fan of the Ping I-series. My favorites (and I think the best) were the Ping I-3+ series. (I do currently play the I-10s, however.)
Great video again! Does it matter with these ping irons if ping badge/weight is missing in one of the clubs?
Used to play a set of i20's and they were great irons (good enough for Lee Westwood) they replaced a set of TM Burner TPs as they flighted too high, still got a set of i3 blades in the garage for the kids to use...!
I have i20 black dot CFS R shaft, tosca ping grip. Bought it more than 10yrs ago when it 1st came out. Stopped golfing .. start again just recently. Regripped and a blast to be driving again. Unfortunately W, 9, 7i have lost the insert. I was surprised. But still play as good.
Yesterday got a vintage Ping ISI BECU blue dot with tge stok ping steel shaft. Fingers cross they are going to be good. Cant wait to arrive.
I just love PINGs. Perhaps their lie angle colouring is really useful.
I got some used Ping i10's and returned them for some TaylorMade used Burners. The Pings were TOO heavy as compared to the Taylors. All my other clubs are Pings! They were like swinging a KV-2 tank
Got myself i15 irons for 155 dollars 4-w great condition with grips still in good shape back in December. Great clubs. But I will say they aren’t the softest even when struck pure.
My new and first set of ping i500s cracking soft clubs and with I’ve got traditional lofts so no fliers now and again like the taylormades
Brilliant video, thank you for posting this. I am just about to get back into golf after a long time away. This was very helpful. I have one question which is stopping from buying a second hand set of Ping’s. That is, the colour dot grading of the clubs? There is a set for sale of the I3’s close to me at a good price. However it is white dot and regular shaft. I get the regular shaft. But what do the different colour dots mean? Feedback would greatly appreciated. I have subscribed and liked 😊
Just bought a callaway razr fit driver for 35 euros. Great deal
I've been playing the i20 for 6 years. I'm off 10.5. They are very good clubs. Here's a spec no manufacturer will give you - the sweet spot is 2cm in diameter. Why do manufacturers or UA-cam reviewers not give that data? I love the vlogs and underline your rant. My moto is don't waste money on equipment, invest it lessons. Keep up the good work.
I have played i3 and i3+ off and on for years. Currently playing s56 7 thru pw, and i3+ 5 & 6 iron. I have played many ping irons over the years. I believe the i3 versions are the best.
I agree although going to sell now. Have upgraded.
Thanks for video! I have heard people say Ping Irons are ugly, I think the Eye Two and ISI irons look great, I don't think the post ISI lines were very appealing to the eye but the more recent models are very sleek.
I picked up set of I15 on Ebay. Love them!
Good man 💪
@@SASGolf Also developed interest in older Ping Putters. I have Pal 2, 4 & 6.
Lee Westwood became world number one in 2010. In 2011 the I20s hit the market and Lee gamed those for a couple of years. Nuff said.
Another good option are the ping s56/57 ranges 👌
I bought ping i15's when they first came out and hated them. I ended up selling them after a few months and buying ping g5's used from ebay. User them for a few years before changing to mizuno mp30's which I still game now about 10 years later
Wise words again, roll on April after a few hours on the range lol
Can’t wait! 🔥
i10s and g10's are absolutely the best irons I've ever (used to) hit.
I have found i20s and i10s to still be very expensive in the US. Take advantage of good prices while you can UK :)
Played i15's for years, great clubs but now have some forged Mizuno's lockdown bonus blown
A guy across from ny girlfriends house left an old bag of clubs in to hers after he seen i played golf there was loads of clubs in it i noticed there was a ping i3 pitching wedge then found 5 7 etc found the whole set 3 to pw in immaculate condition like new i use newer irons and took the i3s to try one day oh my god such an amazing set of irons for how old they are really good only problem i had was narrow soles in wetter weather had a tendancy to dig in
Hope all going well mate with the little ones. 2 is a whole different level isn’t it. Just wanted to get your advice, I’m thinking about getting One Length irons and I’m fairly new to the game. What’s your thoughts?
All Ping irons sell well in Australia, regardless of model. I still sell Zings for $350AU. Ping hold value more than any brand. I collect the putters and its not a cheap hobby (especially after collecting every driver nike ever out). Taylormade and callaway sell the best, but at smallest profit margin. Im amazed how many people still buy Burners.
The +6 I caddy for uses a cast ping set.
Ping i models have always been popular and sought after, i20s are a few models out of date now but still nice clubs. I sold mine 4-pw about 4 years ago for £150. Using i200 at the min and they feel as soft as anything forged. Ping will adjust the lie angle of any of their clubs for free, just have to pay for postage
I bought i10s as a junior played with them for 10 years got fitted at ping for them red dot got 1200s a couple of yeas ago still red dot would never go away from them
Hi Simon great video 👍 what's your thoughts on the Ping G Series irons, I recently purchased 6-PW on ebay for £130 in reasonable condition
That’s a steal mate 👌
Still got my i15s from 2009 and they are still mint. For me the nicest of i range with the deep red detailing.
I wouldn’t be able to look at the rusty poo i10s!
Like my i15s too! Wouldn’t sell them if I upgraded. Would have em as back ups or just a separate set.
Great clubs and worked for Lee - had several sets myself over the years - always had no trouble selling and buying on eBay - have over 650 ratings on eBay and have had over 30 sets of clubs in last 4/5 years as I tinker - never ever have a problem selling any Ping product?
Great irons
I don't believe it!! I was waiting for some money to clear before making her an offer for that lot😂😂😂😂
I have just picked up a full set of Mizuno TP11's in really good condition and wondered what your thoughts are for the better players ?
Ping i20 and i25 had a problem with the face peeling at the edges had many heads replaced by ping just look at the toe end when buying
Good tip that mate, never seen that to be fair.
My eight iron peeled at the toe . Only cosmetic great irons I25
Had this issue with the 5 iron looked like a ripple along the sole of the club, also 7 iron had issues with damage both were less than 4 months old at the time
As a sidenote to Edwin "s post ....Westwood is now playing the Ping i210 's .....he finished 2nd @ the Players ... I have tried the i20's....did NOT like the feel or the sound .
Love my i3s but they are worn. Any recommendations what newer Ping irons wd be similar?
Ive not long brought some ping I E1 irons £179 5-pw I think that was a pretty good deal, cheaper than the g20s ect and newer, no brainer
My dads got i20s he got custom fit I think 10 years ago he is now a 4.3 handicap and is looking to get p790s or p700s custom fit this summer what do you think I know for sure he wants a custom fit and wants to buy new so yeah!!
He definitely will get more distance from them mate due to the or lofts and design. Very powerful clubs mate so if that’s what he wants go then they will do the job mate. 👍
Love my i20,s...
What clubhead speed would you recommend for these clubs?
I love my i210s and cannot find anything I play better.
Hey, Simon, I actually have a specific question for you. I have an i3 1 Iron that I found in my dad's stuff after he passed away. For some reason, it was shortened to be one length. I have no idea why or how this happened and after all the research I've done, I still can't figure out what the point was. This would've been years before the concept of one length irons was even thought of. It actually hits really well and I have a slower swing speed. Any information you could give me on this would be great. It's mostly just a curiosity thing. TIA!
That shortened 1 iron club is for when you need control and accuracy in your shot and you would use it for when you want the ball to go roughly 180 yards
i10's have a nice bronze finish
Worth noting the cast clubs are not iron as such but stainless steel castings....
Let me know if you come across a g400 7 wood. Reg flex CB flex shaft. 😀
I10 irons 4-sw. will never leave them. I play to 4 hcp. Play >10 time a year.
Had question Simon i got the m2 taylormade i was thinking of upgrading what you do,
i hit 160 to 170 total average with my driver what do you think ?
What do you think sorry about that
Brought the i20 irons with xstiff 4 or 5 months ago after watching this and some other videos. Beautiful clubs feal so smooth and the ball flight has improved nicely. Honestly best irons i have hit. I am a 16 handicap to be fair. But the confidence with these in my hand have dropped it 2 shots in that time and coming down fast!. Its amazing how much you better you play when you feal comfortable with a club.
I love my I20s
I'm looking at the moment for a set of I 20's, as a secondary set. I just missed out on a set, 5-U, at £115 bid. Think they went for £130 ish?
I suppose after this, they'll all go up 50%?
Mate plenty out there. You’ll find a set easily for under £150. Don’t think I have that kind of influence on the market luckily mate. 👍
@@SASGolf I think you underestimate yourself? You have become the guru of the golf used market!!!
Put my I25s and a vokey sm6 wedge on ebay thinking is get 220 min. Sold for 130. Was gutted .
I believe the Anser Driver, Woods also dont sell. I do have Anser Forged irons which are tremendous and highly underrated.
But newer but I bought the ping i210 in great nick for £400. Similar condition jpx919 forged was going to cost circa £600. And from all reviews i210s feel almost as soft
Hi Simon what happened to the original video from about 20mins ago
Yeah sorry mate. Audio cut out at the end so had to fix it mate. 👍
i20s are going to look a lot better at this point than forged clubs from the same year. My i20s look amazing. AP2s look terrible after a year.
I’ve always thought cast iron felt better. Good for me cheaper
Just sold my s58's nearly 200, they ar mint tho
Jeeper's.....a company saw me coming......I was desperately searching for a set of Green spot stiff shafted i10's three weeks ago, couldn't find a set to save my life, so in a drunken haze, i paid £185 for a set of green dot Eye 2+........only to find when they arrived, they are regular flex.......DOH! So now i'm trying to figure out if i can DIY rehaft from my MacGregor M675's which have stiff shaft's. Morale of the story, a lack of patience and a gallon of somerset's finest traditional cyder makes me feel quite the idiot
ps. Hair looks fine.....Robert Smith
Is £135 for a taylormade M1 460 driver 9.5degrees with a aldila rouge silver 110 MSI 70 x-stiff a good price ?
Anyone notice the 2014 big Bertha head cover love that club...
Well at least mine came with that cover.
I wanna buy those i20s
My irons were the “odd £180” i10’s didn’t sell
Eye-revolutionary, Eye2-god tier, i5-amazing, i10-errrrrr....they lost many people with those and other brands scooped them up. Especially since right around the same time they did the Anser forged irons and the S59s. PING did it to themselves.
Playing off 10, still using my i20 irons. See no reason to change.
100% mate.
Ping i E1s rarely get mentioned??
Does anyone know what brand jumper Simon wears?
Company called ‘manor golf’ mate. 👍
@@SASGolf nice one thanks mate
There’s no such thing as soft steel. The “forged” irons are a softer steel so they can be stamped out of a block of steel. It doesn’t mean you’ll feel anything, but they will wear out faster. The cast Pings last forever.
If steel was actually soft enough to feel when you hit a golf ball, you’d be bending them back into shape after every round or practice session. Steel can have different qualities but it’s never “soft”.
now price is i20's will go up on ebay. Do us all a favour and recomentd Donnay and Slazenger.
Simon, Did i see a G400 5 wood under its headcover. If so and you are selling let me know you have my number. Cheers.
