I’m an installer at a small family business here in NC. Just wanted to chime in and say when I cold knife these out I will usually cut the encapsulation out all the way around with my long knife first. Makes it so much easier and gives you more room to work which helps with protecting then paint. Nice work 👍🏼

Great job I'm about to jump in the garage to start mine. I saw a "special" windshield removal tool set at Harbor Freight and picked it up. Your way looks much better but I couldn't get a good look at the blade you used. Was it some sort of hooked blade? Thanks for taking the time to educate us weekend warriors!!
Good job. I hate those Windows I've had to take some out for body shops so they can do roof job in it. I remove the headliner and use an air knives like your electric one on the inside works good.
a Oetjen thank you. Power tools and Pneumatic tools are so helpful same thing with fiber line or wire tools. Now on days we got to have all of them with all this different designs.
I use the same technique as you. also I use the same dow 30 minute adhesive (dow all the way) . I have a 2500 to remove the slider for a body shop tomorrow and they want me to save the slider if i can. I was going to try my WRD spider and try and string it out. Laglasstech Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos! I have use the Spyder & the Raptor to save the exact same back window and I’ve been successful saving them, you would definitely have to bring part of the headliner down, position the spider or raptor all the way at the end of the frame when already cutting on the top and the bottom on the inside of the truck so that you don’t start cutting into the frame. Also don’t forget to bend the metal tabs towards the glass, make sure the fiber line is in between the frame and the body, guide it with a bone (plastic stick) to help you keep the fiber along the frame on the top and on the bottom so you don’t cut into the frame of the glass.
Had mine replaced yesterday ram 2021 1500. Was leaking. The guy said the new one will leak again. There is a flaw in oem window. What's your opinion? Thanks
I had the same issue with my 2019 Laramie. Read a couple of forums and apparently a lot of people are having this issue. I guess RAM is waiting for more lawsuits to finally do a recall.

I can believe dodge had to make the ram soo difficult to change the rear window. I shattered the middle part that slides. Previous models you can just buy a new window and replace it yourself with 5 mins for $100. Mine I been quoted to spend $1,200 and have to replace the entire damn window.
I have a 2016 3500 Megacab with same issue, the seats in mine fold forward... I would think that you can do the replacement without seat removal in the Megacab? Also wondering where to get this done right in the Seattle area?

Right now I have an appointment with Safelite to replace it, not sure if thats' the way to go or if I should go to a dealer, is a blown out window covered under warranty etc? I sure hope that me putting on a better gasket is not the cause of the pressure in the cab blowing out that window instead of escaping past the old seal on the brake light? Anyway I need a replacement of the 3 piece, heated, motorized back window, tinted dark
My 19 Ram big horn didn't come with the sliding rear window, can you add the sliding rear window and how much? I was told the Big horn has the wiring already there.
Don't do it. The 5th gen models have leaking issues due to poor design. My 2019 Ram Laramie started leaking about 3 years after i got it and the dealship refused to replace it because it was out of warranty! POS
I bought the panel replacement for 100 bucks off ebay but i took a wood chisel to all the broken glass still glued there and put the window on myself. Shame on dodge for not selling replacement glass for those windows, it's an effing truck, that glass is getting broken at some point0
stupid ice from car wash fell on my back window on my brand new ram. huge gouges on plastic piece above sliding window. I hate the thought of my truck getting dismantled like this, most installers dont put shit back correctly or do as good as job as you. Now to decide to live with gouges or get window replaced under insurance. Both seem like crappy options

@@jesicajauregui1536 mas seguro que dejaron descargar la batería al tener algo prendido mientras trabajaban. Dudo que allá sido algo con lo del remplazo del vidrio lo peor que puede pasar si es que fuera por una conexión simplemente fundiría un fusible nadamas.
Si eso crei asi le pasamos bateria porque pense q eso seria pero no aun no funciona pero se me iso raro si mi troca andaba al 100 y nomas le pusieron el vidrio no prendio mas....

If you are doing it in a body shop have them remove the seats and headliner.
Would be nice if the rear seats folded down instead of having to remove them completely.

I have a Dodge 2015 Tradesman 2500 Crew, Can i put a power factory sliding window in it..Wasnt sure if it was wired from the factory ?

What tool is it your using to cut around the seal? Is it an oscillating saw? And what bit is that?
It is an electric cold knife. Same thing as a regular lever cable pull knife used to cut out windshields, just electric.
I'd this about removing seats & seatbelts or a window..

Ryan seas yes you could always switch it to a 1 piece window. Less problems and much more affordable.

Pls check the third brake light first, %90 of the times that’s the problem where it leaks from.

Eric Bray I use 51848 1in and 51849 1 1/2in but I still have to sharpen them right out of the bag.
