It's an older video, but still helped me and my son replace a window in a 1989 Toyota pickup. Actual video of the cord trick is so much easier to understand than trying to figure out what a written description is describing. Thanks and well done!
I tried the install trick I was at my window for three hours beforehand ,it took me 5min no lube, no joke with this trick whoever came up with it was a genius.thankyou.
Brad, thank you for the clear instructive video and especially the advice about trying it again if first you don't succeed. I just installed a new sliding rear window and seal in the restoration of an '83 f150 Flareside. Doing it by myself was not easy, especially at 80 yo. The first try I couldn't get the seal, but the second time was a charm.
I didn't think this would actually work but it did! Took me a couple tries cause my rope was to thick but I eventually got it. Thanks so much for the video! You saved me almost 400$!
Thanks so much Brad..took it out with ease last fall..just put it back in tonight .and your method made it so easy to install..had it in in 5 min. Awesome video.
You rock brad thanks for the great video, took me 4 mins to install my window and never yelled once at the woman helping me... to be honest we watched another video before yours and the idiot made it so complicated my woman didn't want to help me
I'm getting ready to remove the rear glass on a 78 pinto wagon and weld my customer's broken hatch, this is a great, very informative, and above all, to the point video. Thanks for the info.
Thank you so much for the rope trick. I followed your instructions and extra tips and it made my window replacement so easy. It helps to really clean and prep before installing. I have a 97 F250.
Wow! Thanks this is the best video instruction I ever have found. I am impressed by your knowledge and how easy you make this project. I bever done anything like thus before. And I thought window removal was very difficult. Thanks again sir for teaching us what us all about .
Thanks for the great info Brad! Didn't realize it was so easy. Love the Ford truck graveyard in the background. I saw one that looked just like my 87'.
Wow I can't believe it's that easy and quick! I'm going to try it right now😂, just kidding, I'm not ready yet. Thanks you're saving me money I could put towards my project truck.
THANK YOU Brad! That's how Jeep CJ-7 windshields are. Not the two piece rubber and glue. And the local glass shop quoted me high (120 bucks sounds high, right?)...so I found your video.....now If I don't break it......I'll have a new skill
We replaced a broken slider with a flat glass and new gasket . I wasn't easy & took four tries but we got it ! Don't give up ! lol It would be much easier with an old gasket
Awesome. I"m working on a project where I'm welding the back of a nissan cab to toyota camry "truck-car". This helped me a bunch save the glass from the welder
Thank you so much for this I have a Ford Ranger which I want to open up to a sleeper camper in the back and if I can take the window out at least a lot of it out this will work out good I can even put a framing near I guess and grape some vinyl vinyl clear vinyl stuff so it can make sure the rain that comes through will drop down between a truck the great video thanks so much very valuable
Thanks for the video. I just wanted it done before winter and I’m by myself so I ended up getting a new slider and gasket installed on my 83 f150. It still leaks. I had a 4 piece vented slider but the glass shop replaced it with a 3 piece. Does that matter? Also,I got a new cab light, before I put it on I covered the hole to make sure that wasn’t where the leak was coming from.
Mine has a hard plastic insert around the exterior of truck. Should I pull it out to remove? I'm guessing it's to make the rubber set tighter in frame. Thank you.
On one video I saw that you removed the back seat upper back rest and the seat belt before installing. This one you didn’t. Does it have to be done? Difference between straight cab and extended cab?
Hey Brad! Thanks so much for your great videos! I have a 1987 F150 with a sliding rear window. I have to replace the sliding windows and have been trying to figure out how to get the old ones out. Seeing this video, I think I have to use your technique shown here to remove the window completely. That will allow me to remove the old sliding windows and install the new one. Can you please let me know if I am on the right track?
I watched ur video because I had a huge limb fall on my 2000 Cadillac Seville and it shattered the glass. I tried getting the seal out but it was ruined. I went to the junk yard to get a new back window and I tried to save that seal as well but it also got ripped up and to destroyed to salvage. I was able to get the window out and I got the window installed onto my car but I have no rubber seal that goes around the window. Where can I order a new one? I called my local Cadillac dealer but they said they couldn’t order that for a car as old as mine.
My truck is a 1993 dodge dakota but I fucking love it... I found the rear glass like brand new in a local junk yard and that is why I'm seeing this video tho
I see these type of installs posted often. Does no one use any type on sealants? If you notice on the top of the truck above the drivers window is the seam that leads down to the back glass. Water will run down there behind the rubber and settle inside the rubber gasket. Over time the rust will occur. Usually at the bottom of the gasket on the left and right corners. It would seem to me a sealer would address this problem..

I agree.. but this helped me alot to replace our broken rear window mazda BT50 2007. Best wishes from Brunei.
I can’t imagine how much money you’ve saved people with your videos. Thank you!
No nonsense clear instructions. Very helpful. Well done and much appreciated.
So many channels now a days are full of bs this video rocked
I tried the install trick I was at my window for three hours beforehand ,it took me 5min no lube, no joke with this trick whoever came up with it was a genius.thankyou.
Terrific video. I did this sort of replacement once 30 years ago and now my bad memory is no issue at all. I will just follow you.

Thank you so much ! For an auto mechanic I know engine's but was nervous on glass but you made me confident enough to try this on my own !
I used clothesline rope, about 3/16" as he said. Worked great. This guy would be a fun friend.
We needed to remove the back window on a 1990 Ford ranger. This video made that possible! Thank you so much! 😊
Thanks for the video Brad. I was able to get my old window out and the new one put back in in less than 10 minutes. Very helpful!

The rope idea was genius.
This worked for my Jeep J truck, Thanks for the video.
Well it's in but the gasket didn't cover the bottom corners on the outside. Did I mess up or is that normal on a aftermarket slider?

Man you're awesome. Made that look easy!

What boneyard are you in? There are many trucks there that have parts I need. Old fords are hard to find good parts for.
Does a regular window take the same gasket as a slider? Just broke mine. Thanks for the video.
they do not The factory slider uses a different gasket
@@autoglassamerica thank you very much! If I get a used one I will get a gasket too.
Great simple way to do this thank you!
Thank you brother. I appreciate the walk through
Great video helped me a lot appreciate it
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 will that work to replace the rear window? Thank you.
yes
