I've had more luck pulling all of the clips along the drip rail as there are only like 5 or so per side. It takes a bit longer on the removal, but I don't need to be fiddly with the corner rail where it attaches to the drip rail. Love the quality information too! I like that you use the release tool on the top molding, however, I prefer to slide the top molding off by pulling it toward the passenger side. It keeps the molding from possibly bending. Tape is super helpful to keep from scratching the body.
How destroyed would these mouldings get if you take it to a shop that doesn’t know what they are doing or don’t care. Why can’t all manufactures design mouldingless windshields lol. I guess they all can’t be as simple a an F150
I love the fact that you take your time and try to save every part and every clip, unlike other people who do it like butchers out there who just tear things up without any regard to anything. Thank you sir! Great video! I hope those technicians watching your video will learn a thing or two from your skills!
The dealership replaced the windshield on my 2017 armada. When I drive over 40, I believe that trim is rattling. It's very annoying hearing that inside of vehicle. Your video gave me an idea on how to replace the trim. Thanks man..
If you're replacing the screen, could you leave the molding in place and fiber line (p10) the screen out by letting it pass under the molding and releasing it after the glass is out?
@@mikediamond257 yes its possible but sometimes the urethane oozes out and the fiber line doesn’t stay under the glass but I definitely done it and it works.
@@AlfredosAutoGlassRepairCorona, I’ll be doing my first 2019 QX80 on Tuesday, sure appreciate your video. What’s the equalizer tool part number you use? Thanks
Which way would you prefer to remove.. string out with the top molding or remove the molding first? It’ll be my first so I was thinking of stringing it out with the molding in place. Also I ordered the molding but it also came with a black plastic or stiff rubber, what is that for?
Hi Alfredo. Thank You for showing how you remove the molding. I just got my windshield replaced for my Nissan Armada 2017 and my uper molding it is mooving on the left side moore than on the other (when i press on).It mooves when i press on in with my finger in the midle. Do you think it is normal or it was not well installed? You think they maybe did not installed all the clips back? Thanks.
Somewhere out there is a QX80 with two rattling flimsy corners from the first time I did one of these. Got em out fine but broke the clips on both from missing the holes. They’re holding on by double sided tape and the front trims. They’re also both bent a little from frustrations lol got better since then
I broke the white clip on the passenger side chrome molding. IT is right before that small bend chrome piece that goes to the front windshield. Do you have a part number to that white clip?
Unfortunately they don’t sell it by it self. They make you buy the entire molding just for that clip, replace that broken clip with a Christmas tree clip same size hole, you’ll just widen where the molding holds the clip and slide it onto the molding.
@@AlfredosAutoGlassRepairCorona Do you have a recommendation where I could get the whole side molding along with the corner one? Is it only at the dealer? Do you know of a ballpark cost?

Thank you so much for this video Alfredo!!
These and FJS are my weakness
Fjs for sure..
when changing a windshield becomes surgery.
Can I bring mine to you? The chrome molding is damaged from a previous owner and I’d like to have just one side replaced.
My windshield was replaced and the whole top strip came off in car wash
I been do glass for over 40 years molding always the heads is yet if you take you time you can save a lot of molding great job
Again, always putting out great contents. Thank you coach!
Thank you 😊
Music in the background makes it difficult to listen.
So I’m going to need the part number please

yes sir, this is all VERY helpful. My only wish is that your video library was bigger.

What double-sided tape do you use to replace the factory tape on the pillar finishing covers? Thank you
Just start popping from the back to the front and you can just skip this
After I release 3 clips of the top molding I slide it out towards the driver side.

Too much noise in the background.
You hiring? lol
I think I want to work for you
Its a fancy Nissan armada
Great video , but Infiniti ends with an "I" and not a "Y"
auto correct 😂 I didn’t even notice. Thank you
Hey man, what is the corner molding you are working on at 0:28 to 0:32? I need that one as it disappeared
Unfortunately they only sell that corner piece with the entire side molding.

OG! God bless
