Backroads Finds, Abandoned & Small Town Wisconsin. Dane & Jefferson Counties, Wisconsin.

In this episode I hop in the Yogimobile and head out to Dane & Jefferson Counties, looking for interesting things. I come across York first, and there was lots of abandoned structures to check out. I next head to Marshall, where the roads are in really bad shape! I did come across a neat attraction while driving through, and that will be in the next video. I finish this trip by driving through Waterloo, home of Trek Bicycles!

I've been to York. The company I work for repaired one of York Townships plow trucks. Recognized it right away!

York Center Garage ... I had a muffler replaced there. The building across the street from tavern was not a filling station, but a grocery store. The garage owner was also the a peace officer with limited policing authority.

Marshall is a fair sized town compared to the small town I live in, in Sawyer County. The Texaco in Waterloo is cool. I live in Winter Township and they keep the roads nice and every summer they pave some dirt roads and/or do an overlay on older paved roads but the village of Winter just doesn’t have the money to keep up their roads much.

7:07 lived in the first house behind the bank for 4 years and 12:37 my wife worked at Waterloo HS as an English teacher during that time.

My friends & I used to travel between Wisconsin Rapids & Point. We'd always pass an old fenced-in graveyard far off the road. Rumor was boyscouts were murdered by a rogue civil war vet & buried there. Probably just urban legend.

I grew up in marshall! Not much to do around there

My Aunt and Uncle live in Marshall and Nathan Haselau is my uncle's nephew, Marshall has a nice amusement park Little Amerricka. Waterloo is where my mom's family is from and my parents were married at the Catholic church in 1959, grandparents are buried in the cemetery. Many good times at the park. My grandparents used to have a restaurant there also.
