The characters, the music, the HYPE, we are getting to experience first hand the "street racing scene", man... I just rewatched the first 5-6 episodes back to back and I was moved
something about this scene dude holy... i cant stop watching vids on initial D again, got me wanting me to play the ps2 game lol. gotta plan to rewatch the series again, something about the season 1 animation that hits me in the feels, wish i could experience watching the anime for the first time again

The graphics are limited to their time, but the way they capture the speed of the 86 by the sound of it zooming past always amazed me. GREAT sound design
i remember watching this with my father and he couldn't cheer more for takumi when I remembered him that he would get a full tank of gas if he won the race 😂
I used to think "I know what inital D is about" but when I watched it properly I was star struck , the animation although somewhat "bad" gives me the same vibe as hajime no ippo.

its speed warning chime, AE86's does that sound after 120
@davidgruen7423 it's only found in cars throughout most of Asia the chime only rings when you drive over the speed of 100 miles or faster
