Hi all, I want to share some facts about the development of this video! The first developments in this style, came in the summer of 2022. In a break from creating my main remakes, I was testing implementations of other styles for my videos. The first published developments, Boosty subscribers saw in November 2022. So I decided to remake my first Blender Cinematic using this style. I also want to answer the question why did the car numbers change? [Instead of 13-954 -> 954-3 etc.] I decided to separate my regular line of remakes from the cartoon line in this way. It's very sick, the only thing I can nitpick is that Takumi's license plate classification number is 356. The AE86 has a 1600cc engine, which is under 2000cc. If the engine is over 2000cc, the classification number will be 3X/3XX. However, if it is under 2000cc like the AE86 is, the number will be 5X/5XX. The FD has a 1300cc engine but that's an exception because it is wide so they still put it under 3X/3XX classification.
This is what I wanted from the legend movies! The body movement of keisuke is natural and smooth while the cars have that manga drawn effect. Every time a new animation is made, the quality goes up a level! Nice work!
Go watch the legend movies again, I had to rewatch it to make sure, but legend is really faithful to the manga in how the cars move, I honestly loved it even though it had none of the eurobeat too.
Legend is definitely has the best animation fidelity and camera angles, but damn these animations are pretty fkn close lol, personally I feel like it could’ve been a little darker to match the feel of 1st stage but that’s just me nitpicking
yeah and people will always prefer a more modern and polished look, even if i feel like the initial D atmosphere gets across better in the old animation@@GengarDay
How much I would like to see a remake or video game of the first season of initial d with this quality of animation in the races, excellent work as always
@@firestorm165 wait shakes? You're talking about the trilogy movie right? For me my only problem with the remake is that they didn't use eurobeat and instead used jrock songs. The songs were alright though.
It would be nice to have a new Initial D game, but licensing for Toyota’s cars might be challenging after witnessing what happened to racing games we had back in 2017. Plus past Initial D games were only available in Japan, but it is possible that a new game can make it to the states and Europe.
Holy shit. Dude I'm actually blown away. The motion of the cars is so damn smooth and everything's timed very well with the audio/music. The quality here is through the roof. I was deadass bouncing up in my chair like an absolute child watching this it was so intense. Smile from beginning to end. Never stop animating.
it looks like you went from super high quality blender cinematics, to this more manga looking style and I really appreciate. I love the style shift, and I think its way more fitting for something like this. The cell shading on the cars was SO COOL!
OMG ITS SO FUCKING GOOOOD the sound design the visual designs and effects the low framerate on the cars to blend the anime style with realistic graphics this isnt a blender project its fucking art, it has artistic intent and it doesn't directly follow the source material it flows in tandem with it, making its own path in wonderful ways and my god this has made my year this has made my damn year
Even from a pure Japanese point of view, it's really the best work. I was impressed by the attention to speed and camera work, while creating an original-style image. I've been watching your videos for a long time, but I didn't think you had evolved to this point. I hope that you will continue to make videos for Initial D fans, car lovers, and people all over the world. I support it, all the way.
I quite like the evolution of the style from the FC3s and AE86 vid, to the R32 and Lan-Evo IV and now this. You passed from smooth animation to this one who's more "blocky" or feels more like a stop motion at some points, like you're turning the pages of a manga to see the next page with just slightly more details on a scene. It's really good looking and it doesn't take you out, it just gives off a different feeling from the other races that I quite like

Excellent! As a long time fan of Initial D- I’m very impressed! I liked the art style, but also really appreciate the attention to detail. Especially with the facial expressions of Keisuke. It felt very life-like while still maintaining that anime-style charm. I also like the sound effects! It makes for a vast immersive experience. This is, hands down, the best animated rendition of this scene. Period. The way the animation captures the manga's intricate linework, while also being smooth and engaging, and capturing every beautiful moment of the encounter, up to and including the famous "Kansei Dorifto" in perfect detail was absolutely gorgeous. I genuinely think experiencing the hype of this video is as close as any Initial D fan can come to re-experiencing this moment for the first time.
I am so happy that this exists. The cars and the rotary sounds are as perfect as I can imagine. The characters still need a little work. BUT DAMN YOUVE GAINED A SUB.
There's genuinely a LOT to love about this. Sure, there's a few rough points like the smoke trails and how the characters mouth moves, but the racing animation was genuinely superb. The art style was fantastic. Hope to see more like this!

holy cow this was unreal, i really like how you were able to capture the speed it really feels like, it definitely makes it so much more intense but its proper. the cut scenes to the inside of both car and details were out of this world. BEST I"VE SEEN!! you guys did it again and never miss to impress
