Good afternoon, UA-cam! It's 2022, and it seems... that the PS Vita & PS3 official got a System Software update?! In today's video, I'll be discussing my thoughts & precautions users should know about the latest software updates for these legacy consoles.

• Signing in to PlayStation Network now requires a device password for enhanced account protection.

For PlayStation Home since you’re non profit a way to buy items and clothes using like virtual currency like doing mini games to earn currency to buy clothes and items

My theory is that these may actually be the last updates. It's that Vita update that really clues it in for me. Something that hasn't been updated in years, assumed dead (In an update respect) finally has an update drop. I'm betting Sony did this big push to close it up for the PS3 and Vita, these might be the last updates.
I'm kinda hoping so. I know some of the CFW makers have been waiting for updates to stop so they can work on a full CFW option, like 4.74 (I think) was. All since have been lite variants, so I can understand them holding off, it's a lot of work. So a full option should be last and latest.

Saw this update in a news wire and was surprised to say the least. It's honestly just to make thing more inconvenient to keep using PSN on PS3. I hope, though, they solve the C-Bomb issue!
The ps3 is getting worse and worse now this update is killing it.

@@choppa8059 what games you playing?..i play bf4 online i think its smoother than before, not by a lot tho. Less hackers or cheaters but a few do make me qst if they still bypass the system
That Psvita firmware update came out of a blue and it's been like almost 3 years since the last update. Great video as always, my man 👍

Nagato, you're the best guy we have to cover the PS Vita and PS3. It actually blew up my mind when the updates came on both of my systems. So now it looks like we gotta wait for the new CFW to come out, I was up to play some battlefield 3 and then boom.

Hey nagato question about account management will we still be able to activate our systems? I'm on evil nat4.88.2 I want to use Sen enabler I was having trouble last time i did it I should have activated but I didn't and I couldn't get my package manager or anything to work and I should have just updated the firmware in recovery mode but I had my controller plugged in so I had formatted thinking anyways it was a mess I know now that I can just update the custom firmware in recovery mode unplugging the controller after hitting start select but yeah I want to use Sen enabler and activate my system so I can install pkg format games

I literally just bought a psvita yesterday and I can't hook it up to my system via WiFi without updating it. And I would love to mod it but my system does not recognise it via usb

Are you still able to change your avatar on PS3 under "Account Management?" Universal avatar .edats were some of the best perks of a modded PS3.
I am not so sure, that is something that I will need to test when HFW/HEN fully comes out.

I’ve been seeing people adding some file into mm and restarting their console to bypass the 4.89 update screen, plus some proxy way too, not gonna take the risk of a ban even though some still haven’t been banned yet with that method.

Hi. I have a question for the Psvita. I am on 3.65 fireware with H-Encore2 and it's spoofed to the 3.73. Is spoofing the version to the latest update a bad idea?

I used one of my vita’s factory reset it etc back to normal. Final H-e has been updated to 1.93 which is compatible with 3.74. Someone has also updated modoru so you can downgrade from 3.74 back to whatever firmware you want so all in all other then what it tells you before you update it. It’s mostly the same thanks to the people who worked on modoru and Final H-E or whatever it’s called the program you have to use but yeah it all seems normal still
I was super surprised just booted up my PS3 and got the system update message so just checked on youtube.
My ps3 is superslim and keep them unmodded so Im just installing without any second thought
I'm new to the ps3 homebrew scene and just got a ofw 4.81 cech-2001a slim that still has PlayStation Home on it. I can't confirm if it was ever actually played so I wanted to ask you if I should stay on 4.81 and get custom firmware to send any data it has or just go to 4.89 cfw when it release. I'm not sure if it gets removed when I update so I wanted to ask just so I don't throw anything away that could be used towards the project.
Hey RedBeamRez, thank you for reaching out to me in regards to having Home on your device. You can donate your data, by updating to firmware version 4.88 HEN/HFW. Be sure not to update to 4.89 OFW as there is no viable method for HEN/HFW at this current moment. So has it been updated yet by the hacking people? Just noticed this news and both of my ps3 and my OLED vita has not been updated to the latest? If it has been updated which method is easiest to follow step by step without issues?
I know H-Encore 2 works on latest firmware for Vita & PSTV and I know for the CFW/HFW scene there will be updates soon for 4.89.
Keeps giving me 'you were signed out from psn please sigh in again' message everytime i go to the store then boots me out to the ps main menu.

@@skull660 i use my (modded) PS3 every day, use movian to watch my shows and movies, also some gaming from time to time.
I do have a normal ps3 but i dont use it that often anymore, still a great system.

Since the Last Of Us is a big triple AAA title it would require much resources from the Vita.

@@5huffl3k1ng I was following retro game corps vitadeploy guide and I didn't update my vita. I found a way to use content manager with wifi disconnected without updating it and just finished jailbreaking this morning

I can’t access the code because I deleted my email address awhile ago so I’m screwed! I think it’s time to just buy a ps5.
Man I'm sorry about that. I was worrying that other people would not be able to log in to their account after this update. If your email address is still typed into the ps3 sign in box, then all you need is the account password for your account (if you can remember it.) Then hit sign in, and when you try to sign in, it will tell you to go to a URL to setup a "device setup password". When you go to the Sony website, you can CHANGE your profile's email to a NEWER one. That's what I did last night after the new update. So if your old email, is STILL typed into the box for signing in, just go to the URL and change the old email to a new one. I hope this helps.

If your on custom firmware (HENKaku, H-encore, Enso) you should be able to spoof to 3.74 FW to access PSN.

@@wexer9350 Hey man, CFW stands for Custom Firmware. Custom Firmware allows users to run unsigned code & homebrew on their source device e.g., PS3.

but I'm having trouble with trying to reset my password I tell them my email and it says it was sent but its not there and then when I try to login to my account it says my account has been locked like what??? I fucking hate sony with every inch of my humanity and yes I called Sony more then once and the voice mail thing said they can not connect not surprised there
I would personally try to contact their support team and give them your original console serial number where you had your account link too.
