in the xml file, what happened if u put in 3.64 while the pup file is actually belongs to 3.60? will the vita detects that? thanks
my bro! you are the only one on youtube to help me unbrick my ps vita. This method works! im happy bro! you have no idea! just follow the instructions carefully and one other thing, on the QCMA settings go to "other" and on the bottom where it says "use this version for updates" choose "custom" and underneath where it says "custom ps vita version" type in your firmware version, mine was 03.720.000, and you should be good. and by all means DONT DOWNGRADE!!! itll brick your system!!!

My PS vita workded with firmware 3.60 but today it has been updated to 3.69 and I lost all my games. So how can I downgrade to 3.60 ?
I bricked my PCH-1000 about a month ago and just got around to fixing it and this works perfectly.
If your vita says "The latest version is already installed" or something, here's how to fix that. Go to QCMA settings > other tab > and untick "ignore local file psp2-updatelist.xml" > then restart QCMA & refresh data. Then retry. Worked fine for me.

Dude thank you so much, this is the second time i come here haha (this time for my cousins vita). I just want to say to anyone who has an unfixable problem with his vita and this doesnt work (i couldnt update even in safe mode) and doesnt know what to do, just turn off your vita then press L+R+PS button+ Power button then restore settings and then update your system. I could update after that.

Mine was still blocking me saying it was the latest firmware. In Qcma Other settings, you have set "Use this version" to Custom *AND* put in a corresponding number:
*03.600.000* (etc for the version you're doing)
yeah that will do the trick, also make sure to uncheck "ignore local file psp2-updatelist.xml"

Hi @Silica I've been trying to unbrick my vita due to Enso Ex sd2vita driver fail. I'm having trouble also, I followed the tutorial as is, but I keep ending with the error code C0-10139-4, even i tried different xml edits. i think this is the one I am having a problem, can you send me copy of ready made xml file? my vita is PCH-2006. also what settings i need to change in QCMA advance settings?

I have a problem with my PS Vita, it does not turn on, if it is charging the battery and the battery works because I changed it recently, I try to enter recovery mode and it does nothing I tried to turn it on and nothing when I connect it to charge the orange light comes on but it doesn't turn on

Mine doesn't show recovery menu regardless of what i do. I messed up really bad with enso ex. Uninstalled it then proceed to change firmware without restarting the system... is there anything i can do?

No idea if you're still around dude. My Vita won't go past the PS logo screen. I get to safe mode and try these steps but it gives the error "c0-10139-4". From reading online this is because of the region. But, I have a Japanese model so that's the region I'm putting. It doesn't work. You have any ideas?

On pstv you just keep holding the power button for some long period until it boots into safe mode basically

hello guys thoose who get the latest version has been instaled try this. 1. first set custom version to 03.610.00.and connect to the psvita with usb cable.2 next after did that set the custom version according to your PUP files. as if u use 3.73 set 03.730.000

update, fixed this issue, you have to go into QCMA settings and uncheck the box in settings to ignore local file psp2-updatelist.xml on update folder

Edit: I'm on 3.70 and downloaded the 3.70 PUP file. It starts "Preparing", the sending xml notice pops up on my pc and the loading stops at 70%.

Miriallia Haww Omg you fucked up! 3.60 allows you to jailbreak your vita and get free vita games, psp games,movies etc higher versions are useless. Sony basically patched it and the vita is basically useless... Your vita is just useless now really.

TheFlow mentioned that you'll be able to use henkaku on 3.67 and that it will be released somewhere in 2019. And if you can't wait, just change your motherboard. You can get a motherboard that has 3.60 fw or lower on it.
If you have a psvita slim it will be harder to find a motherboard like that...

Amazing. I installed kate which was the application he used to edit the psp2-updatelist.xml. I also didn't right click it to save it I actually clicked the download button in the top right box above the text file which saved it as psp2-updatelist.xml.txt which I later removed the "txt" part.

Mine boots into recovery mode with the only available option being "update system software". I then click "Update by connecting to a PC" and when I click it it says "Connect this system to a PC using a USB cable." even though it is already connected. PLEASE HELP ASAP

I downloaded the firmware 3.65 and renamed it to PSP2UPDAT.PUP and then I changed the XML file to 'label = 3.65'.
I launched qcma and then booted my vita to safe mode. The only option I have on vita is update system software so I select that. My computer says it connected to the vita and gives me this
"The PSVita has requested an update check, sending local xml file and ignoring version settings."
On my vita it reads Please wait... and doesn't do anything else.
Is there anything I'm missing?

i installed enso ex 3.60 and enso boot manager , it turned off and never on again , i’ve tried everything, unplugging the battery , letting it drain , PWR+PS+R, L+PWR , PWR+PS+START+SELECT+R, i guess i’ll have to buy a new motherboard, or a used psv

I followe the guide perfectly. I downloaded the firmware 3.69, renamed it to PSP2UPDAT.PUP and create the XML file with your instractions. I launched qcma and then booted my vita to safe mode. I selected "update by connecting to pc". My computer connected to the vita and than say "The PSVita has requested an update check, sending local xml file and ignoring version settings" and stop. My ps vita doing anything else.

I'm on the same boat. I can't access recovery mode. Enso install brick.
I press the power+right+ps home button at the same time for 30 seconds, I can't enter the recovery menu, when I plug it in, the orange led turns on, there is no light when I connect to the computer, the computer does not see the device, I can't reinstall the software, the device runs out of charge where it stops, I'm sure the device is in standby mode, but I can't connect to the computer, is the motherboard garbage? Is there a way to rewrite the nand flash?

Edit: as soon as the green background screen popped up it says "An error has occurred. (C3-3710-1)." This error is why I tried this tutorial in the first place!

you guys are lucky i can't even get any firmwares except 3.68
On mine, it was saying that the latest version was already installed. I had to go to settings on qcma, go to the other tab, and uncheck the "ignore local file psp2-updatelist.xml" option, then it worked perfectly. I'm on Windows 10, this video was a lifesaver. I hope this helps if anybody else is having this problem.

My safe modes options are greyed out excpet for update and says it's already latest, but when i turn on my vita, its just a black screen

Yep all it does is trick the vita into getting it to TRY to install any PUP but it will do more tricks from there..

go to qcma on the 'Use this version for updates option' Set custom and set the firmware u want to use for e.g I want to use 3.72 so I will set 03.720.000

@@raoulhdeez.9581 The way to get around it is to change your version number in qcma and then make sure you have right software pup for your system from darthsternie.net/ps-vita-firmwares/. my vita was 3.73 so I downloaded that, set my version 10.720.000. Make sure the 'ignore local file psp2....' is ticked.
That worked for me and it unbricked my vita.

No if u listened to the video you would have heard me say you can only install your current firmware or higher, but NOT lower.
It's a bit of a weird system that you can't go back to a previous version
because if you could go back then you could just downgrade to 3.60 and run pirated games and stuff
