"Your son, not mine", what an utterly disgraceful thing for a stepdad to say.
Maybe Van has a bad attitude that's y he doesn't like him ,maybe he don't respect him as a step father..

Van works for a luxury car dealership and is now married. Good for him.
That’s lovely, he deserves it
@Rahn West he makes more money than working for a normal one. I guess 👌
@Rahn West Yes because a luxury car dealership is different to a regular one.
@Rahn West deluxe mate deluxe :)
@Rahn West I’m just giving and update. He’s happy living his best life.
I respect Van so much for actually telling Gordon all the problems from the get go rather than him having to find out later on

@@zoulzopan yeah, but mad respect to him
I never understand why they aren't ever open with Gordon. Surely he's there because they need help and have asked for his assistance?
@@scottwallbank4794 It's assumed that one person apply for a visit, and the other is absolutely against it.

The fact that Lisa and Keith sat in their vehicle on a busy night, ORDERED food and then had thr audacity to say "give me a fork" when they're overworked and probably underpaid son had to walk out to them to serve them food they absolutely did not deserve. These two are a joke
Hell yes, absolutlely
I'd have made the two of them wear it.
The fact she had the audacity to order the chicken Parm after Gordon being so shocked with the chicken.. wow.
Is change even possible?

Keith gives off "abusive husband" vibes. Glad they separated
I was thinking I wouldn’t want to live a day with that maniac
He literally threatened Van with elbowing him, and other forms of violence on camera. That is already considered abuse, I don’t want to know how far he would go when the cameras are off
glad to hear they're not together anymore, cause I was getting those vibes as well.
How do you know that Keith was an abusive husband ?
I didnt see any signs of an abusive husband. I just saw a husband and wife who didnt gifs a shit about their business. So , how do you know Keith is an abusive husband ?
@@pasqualemastrangelo8345 who said he was?
If my spouse would throw things like that at my son, I’d make sure he’s the next ravioli filling on the menu.
SLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Exactly, how the heckk did she let him treat her son that way ?!!!!
@@jijijiji1782 because man over kids.
Hahahaha oh mama mia!
Ill stay ur son
Turns out Keith was an abusive husband and that was the reason he got divorced in 2005 before meeting Lisa. The whole court case details are searchable in Google. Thankfully they have also separated since the show.
I didn't need google to let me know he's abusive. He was going to hit Van, he shouted at Lisa and seems like a physical person. Too aggressive and used to intimidating people
It's very apparent that he is verbally (and likely physically) abusive. He couldn't even control himself in front of an entire film crew, so imagine him behind closed doors. I get the feeling the kids stuck around at the restaurant as a form of protection for their mother - who actually should have protected them from this horrible man from the start!
I just realised that it's an awful thing for a stepdad to say "he's your son, not mine"
Why? I say it to my girlfriend. Her boy is 18 now, he cant speak English and i cant speak his language. Therefore, he always ignored me for no reason other than not being able to speak English. But he and his mother also dont talk often either. Family relations in Asia are sometimes weird.
Yes enough said I think
@@cz2301 i would say that the particular family u get involved with is weird or maybe because u dont know what they were conveying in their language, u thought it was weird. Either way, when he's your stepson its still a horrible thing to say
I bet he spent her money also
Not necessarily. If Van didn't want a new father then it is perfectly legitimate. I never considered either of my stepfathers to be my dad, and while there was no need to ever say it out loud, I don't see why they would have seen me as their son.
Van is honestly the real superhero here! He took charge and even though his stepfather seemed rather physically and verbally abusive, he STILL stood his ground and did not even flinch, barely. He could see his mother was in pain from this as well as his sister and other staff; and he took the situation in his own hands by telling Gordon everything BEFORE he stepped foot inside the restaurant. Before he heard his mother and stepfather's lies.. What a dude! In reality HE saved his parents along with Gordon!
Jolly and Van deserve better parents I swear… such good kids!!!
"Not even a dollar in his pocket"
Meanwhile him: *Smoking a cigar and ordering food* 💀
And all that revamp for nothing mostly because Keith tool kitchen should lease this place and run they would make it
When the son has more common sense and dignity than the parents 🙄
you know the episode is going to be good when Van immediately starts the drama 3mins in
two narcissists, entitled, self-obsessed, ignorant, selfish, putting their own well-being over their children, impulsive, and soulless people then buying a restaurant with no experience, only tears appeared when thinking of themselves and their losses, child-like behaviour ordering their own food and eating it in their car during service. I'm angry they got the makeover. I wish the show would have helped place all the staff members with catering colleges or other jobs, not waste money updating their restaurant. These 2 loved the idea of being successful and widely admired restaurant owners. Typical of a narcissistic couple, they will break up because 'they' weren't valued enough or looked after 'enough' by the other half.
Van clarified the truth of the drama that was already there. 😉
The guy is ex-liquor store owner and keeps stepping out at random times for whatever reason. Ding ding he's an alcoholic
He was used to running a liquor store, you can walk out for a bit, but he obviously failed at that business too.
Or pill head
If he was my son, I'd be so proud. Great kid
Being a servant boy is not an achievement in life.
So much respect for van and his sister. They showed so much more initiative and enthusiasm than their mother and stepfather who were the owners. The kids showed more ownership skills than their parents here.
The way the 'parents' speak to Van is utterly disgusting, if my mother and step dad talked to me like that/treat me like that i'd never speak to them again.
My mom treats me badly but I still, every x months, meet with her. Even though she's toxic i think it's important to still once in a while chat with her.
I would like to see that improve, anyway this is a situation I wanted to share with you
The son is the hero of this episode, no question.
And daughter.
both kids are heroes, dealing with what happened
Proud of Van not taking after his step dad's habit of just leaving when things get tough this kind of men sink countries
The fact the owners seem to always say, "when we first opened business was booming" is crazy when you think about it. A new restaurant opens in a town, everyone goes to check it out as you would, but then never comes back. They see that as booming business... No, people had just not realised it was crap until they heard from the people that visited in the first 4-8 weeks
The "dad" being mad about the son who apparently lied to Gordon, shame on you sir. That is the worst thing a parent can do for a child. Then to say "not my kid" while trying to take on the parent role or receive respect from the child - ya bud that's not going to do it.
The 'step dad' is a scumbag
two narcissists, entitled, self-obsessed, ignorant, selfish, putting their own well-being over their children, impulsive, and soulless people then buying a restaurant with no experience, only tears appeared when thinking of themselves and their losses, child-like behaviour ordering their own food and eating it in their car during service. $21 for that uncooked salmon and overcooked rice? In 2011!? That's like $40 today. Lol
Lol
😅 still accurate.
It's actually still under $30, but that's still crazy
Van is more mature than his mother and step father combined. Also, i would never let my child be spoken to in the way his step father speaks to him.
For me Micheal is the mvp. Such a nice, loyal and competent guy. Honestly if things were right he should have been the owner and things would've been different.
I agree...Michael was amazing!
Dunno confused by his comment to van 10:41 . Maybe it was for his safety but could've just stood up for him?
@@keanusao1958if you notice, right after the comment Michael gets between Keith and van. It would not be a good idea for something physical to start. As well as much as Michael might think Keith is in the wrong Michael still has bills to pay and Keith is his box. That really stymies how much can be said.
Closed weeks after Gordon left. Not surprised..
Waiter: 'Spaghetti and meatball'
Camera man: ' zooms In on the single large meatball' 😂🤣
You're right about the camera man zooming in👀 but there's actually two meatballs, one on each side of the plate😅
Whenever you feel bad about home cooking. You can watch this and know your better than a restaurant chef.
The Chefs are all fine, it was the lack of management and the lack of proper fresh food that inhibited them from being able to hone their skills and cook proper meals. I would blame the downfall of the restaurant soley on Keith and Lisa, no one else.
Thankfully I only ever have to cook for four or five people Max. I'd lose my mind even making cheese toasties for ten people!😂

“Let’s keep this between us”
Exposes him to millions of people 😂
He said "for now." Not like the episode was going to air before he spoke to the parents.
If that's my spouse and he treat my children like that? He'll see hell.
Yeah u would "beat him up", indeed.."or show him".
@@el29yep. Some men are just awful and they need to get what they deserve.
The son's attitude is *everything*!!! Nothing but the truth, staying completely open to Gordon's food criticisms, and standing up to his mom and step dad.
Parents are tweekers. I don't have insider knowledge, i just watched them hide a bulb in that car.
They seem too lazy for that.
Nahhh.. they're arnt TWEEKIN' with all the quirks a violin has!
Aka strung out person has
Not sure of the kids name I’ve forgotten already but hes got potential. understands customer service, confident speaker, passionate, wants the best for the business and seems to understand the runnings of the restaurant. If this restaurant is still running they can definitely trust that the business will be left in good hands when it comes time to retire.
One of the rare episodes with no happy end. Shocking.
Not that rare . Some owners are stuck in their ways .
21:47, I can’t believe, they typed and PRINTED a piece of apology paper instead of just doing the work in the THEIR restaurant in the first place.
It’s a bloody embarrassment
that kid has got potential written all over him
What irresponsible owners & parents. What a responsible young man. Respect
Keith and the mom are getting baked in the car while their restaurant goes to shit 😂😂😂😅
Yeah, there’s some type of adults 😂
Van js a fucking legend. God bless him and I hope he does well in life
Fucking right man 😊 kids got crazy maturity at least he could stand up for the shit that goes on
If my stepdad made my mom cry like that I'd make sure that he ends up in the hospital for sure.
To you he'd be a STEPfather to her he be would his husband.. even if he was your boilogical father they'd still have same issues and your father might also made her cry.. and looking at this woman is an instigator and rude also.. it is unfortunate he does cry but he does gets hurt
@@thandekamagagula299 real father or not, he'll get a real visit to the hospital. Abuse will not be tolerated, period. Shame on you for being so vile and pathetic that you can't recognize that.
The problem is mom wouldnt appreciate it.. you see the way she dismisses her son, the way she littrally tells husband to ignore him she would not take and help from the son and if anything will get mad at him for doing anything

The step dad is really abusive ….
Gordon is half chef half psychologist
He is one of the best restaurateurs in the world.
Harmonic atmosphere, teamwork, knowledge about the kitchen and service, food economy, fair prices, and a small menu is a good start to run the business.
The food is not necessary to be the best in the world. It must be fresh, made with loveAND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN GASTRONOMY IS THE GOOD SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER.
A LOT OF INVESTORS LOST MUCH MONEY IN THIS BUSINESS BECAUSE THEY CONCENTRATED IN THE KITCHEN AND THE FOOD, AND IN SERVICE THEY WERE HIRING AMATEURS......
IT IS NOT EASY TO RUN A RESTAURANT, BUT IS THE BEST WORK IN THE WORLD.
I AM 45 AND THE LAST 30 YEARS I AM IN THIS BUSINESS......I LOVE IT AND I EARN REALLY GOOD MONEY......
@@iosifas2018 why did you end up shouting hahaha anger issues
You basically have to be to be both and be successful in the process.
Perfect example of a narcissistic father... that's no easy relationship.
I've got HUGE respect for Van trying to open his eyes, but that's a very nerve racking long term task with very little actual chance of success.
My dad is the same kind of person and the result of discussions were almost every time the same... He and everything he does is perfect and is completly denying his faults and just passes and the blame to all others.
After like 10 years of trying to reach to him, I can see him the first time in my life really trying to understand.
8:10 The way he shaked his head after they put it in the microwave. He freaking knew how Gordon would react to it.
I never understand why people don’t just sell it as soon as they find out they can’t make it work. Sure. They’ll probably make a loss but at least they won’t be miserable.
I know, right?! If I run a business for a year and it shows absolutely no sign of making money, why tf would I keep it?? But then again, those people who are smart enough to recognize that won't be showing up on kitchen nightmares
@@Koselillvery very few business make a profit within a year. Most don't start making profit until year 3.
Shame on this “mother” to be with this bully 😡
And sitting in the car, and leave their kids in charge😩😡 Really ?

"I'm willing to do anything!"
*Is asked to do something*
"I wasn't expecting that"
It's funny as you can literally see every thing bad he has got to say about the food he ate/tried, you can see it in the video. And yet, the owners can't.
Cause they probably don't know how the food tastes and are never in the restaurant to see how anything functions 🤷♀️
Again for a Kitchen Nightmares episode, this is what an abusive spouse looks like.
'Want anything else?'
Gordon: yeah, a sick bag.
...
Cold
Why was the mother complaining about her husband leaving the restaurant in the middle of service and then proceeds to say I’m leaving u can’t break someone down for their actions if ur doing it to ur no better
His "Four-Zero-Zero" is legendary 😂
The son deserves help and success, but surely not the others ...
I believe that the moment Gordon leaves, they'd go back to their old ways. Keith for sure.
That happens most of the time!!!!!!
and they did all of this on tv imagine how they were before 😂
I am glad Van didn’t learn their parents bad traits
Welp..at least he's not his actual father.
Van is a national treasure, the church line was golden😂
Tbh, i feels bad for Van. He's a good man. Hopefully he's living a good life now.
I do as qualities like that doesn’t fucking lay. Blame on whatever else in life guaranteed they’re they’re going somewhere.
Love how Gordon is so slick
"Anybody else from the family working here?" After meeting the kid.
Well played Gordon. He didn't throw the kid under the bus.
Could not believe that the mother had never served before or was front of house… and she had no idea how to work ordering program. Seriously, what did these two think running a restaurant was all about??? Fix up a TINY kitchen and then get your kids as slave labour while you watch tv at home? They get into debt and yet still DO nothing about it? I truly cannot see how people can be so oblivious! But obviously they can be… You start a restaurant- you go and FIND OUT how to run it!
They closed just a few weeks after filming, their answerphone said they were closing for "medical reasons ".
Medical reasons = in their case, stupidity and ignorance
Ngl van and Michael are MVPs here
I'm not at all surprised to hear that the place shut. Keith was obviously never going to change.
She should have run it with her kids and Mike who were all amazing.
She's no better than him.
That young man is more mature than both of those lazy twats. They don't have the work ethic to own their own business. But Van I hope will succeed and do well in life.
"don't apologize to me, that's your lady!"
Judging by how the owners had still no clue what they were doing by the end of the episode, I'm going to assume this one closed.
Did you not watch the end? The narrator literally says they've separated and that the doors are closed.
What I like best about this show is Gordon's overall attitude and energy.
Who would have guessed that sitting in your car munching food from your kitchen isnt how you run a resteraunt? 😂
They did this while filming was happening, gotta believe that it is worse when they aren't filming.
Imagine getting help from the best chef GORDON RAMSEY and not appreciate it bruh
Expected ending. I never believed this restaurant will keep going with such owners lmao. Ramsay helps everyone, but there must be potential and leadership skills. It's better for this restaurant to be closed. Sad for all the money that was thrown in it.
Ahhh Gordon your roasts never get old. One of the best kitchen nightmares I enjoy when the owners leave to the car and order some foods it's hilarious
But it still begs the ultimate question "where are the clams?" 🤔
Yeah where are they???
When Lisa tastes the new menu “people are gonna want to come here cos the food tastes amazing”

Isn't it interesting that they never think of their son for bringing in chef Ramsey? I feel like their son was extremely under appreciated for trying to help the family business by bringing him in
I'm convinced that all these places are fronts for mobsters.
They should of handed management to the kids if wanted a back seat
I like seeing Gordon complain about the shitty food, while I eat my second serving of 1$ instant ramen...
That’s what’s up. Beans on toast for me.
