It's mind boggling she allowed that to continue for so long. I despise firing my employees. By far the worst part about being an owner, and it literally keeps me up at night so it's not a decision I make on emotion. You gotta separate your feelings from your business though. Doesn't matter if it's my son or my best friend, there are standards, and if you don't live up to them, I'll find someone else who will.

Why would she care? Her mom and sister put up their homes, per her own admission she only put up $1k and her expenses are being paid. But… the mom and sister are also accountable, they are frustrated but being majority owners they also have the majority to force Tatiana to make changes or remove her as an active participant in the business. It really feels like Tatiana has always gotten her way growing up and this is what happens when they don’t earn their way there. She lacks the confidence that she would have gained by getting pushback and learning how to deal with conflict.

I can imagine how she came to buy the place. Her hanging out with her coworkers bragging about how she'd run things if she owned the place. Then the owner telling everyone he was going to be closing the place and retire, then she thinks 'This is my chance' with the prodding from her coworkers, and indebts her mom and sister whispering lies of how successful it is and how its easy money. Then it brings us to where she is now in this episode. Unable to change or be the boss in the eyes of her coworkers thinking she'd lose their respect.@@medievalpeanut4269

    • @xmarine73
      @xmarine73 6 днів тому +5

Not too crazy if they all believed in the restaurant.
What's crazy to me is that they put their houses up, didn't seem to have a contract or anything else to show for their investment, AND they seemingly had zero say. What?
They are Angel investors, should be partners, and they should be keenly aware of the what the books look like. Additionally, all three of the ladies should have known what was going on in the kitchen and freezers/refrigerators. They should also be eating there and tasting the food at least periodically.
Ramsey had one craptastic meal and went straight to the kitchen to find out why it was so bad... in the span of less than 12 hours. They've had years.

Casemero is in many ways the problem with modern hiring practices. "He's been a head chef in an Italian restaurant for 15 years, he must know what he's been doing." People simply fail up. It is difficult to impossible to change career fields because people are only evaluated by experience, and someone with ten years of experience failing will get hired before someone with six months of experience and a lot of potential.

Refusing to keep cooking and take in the criticism and adjust. He basically quit with his attitude. If dishes are coming back and have to be remade, then he knew there were complaints and should have asked what was wrong with the food sent out.
Plus in 15 years at an Italian restaurant where sales are bad, I would be trying to improve the food, for example by learning how to put seasoning in Italian meatballs and cook them with flavour. A chef who boils his unseasoned meatballs is either not tasting his own food or else has no palate.

Also, I found it bullshit that she's been there for 10 years but never taste any of the food as you can see she's even feel disgusted with that toasted Ravioli meanwhile the waitress who served Gordon knows more about the food than her and she's even feeling embarassed to serve that "Lasagna" and never recommend the Ravioli. But seriously, that's a Lasagna? It looks like a curry rice.
Not to mention, she's even called the Pastas as "Noodles" and mistaken Pizza Dough with Pizza Bread. You're the owner of Italian Restaurant, Goddamit!

The thing is that there is very much a cultural difference here. I’m Latina and watching Casemiro make meatballs I IMMEDIATELY clocked that he was cooking them like Albondigas. We also have a tendency to hold onto food as this is what we were taught by our families because you can’t waste something so precious, like food It’s not that he doesn’t know how to cook, it’s just this is the difference between a home cook and a chef and you can’t have a home cook run a restaurant.

I know, step #1 should've been to find out WHY it was failing, then try your best to fix it.

The moment a restaurant offers its WAITRESS to take ownership you just know it's bad. What qualifications could a waitress have to run a restaurant? Sure some could have education in it but most only do it as a Minijob to earn some money on the side. No experience, no Education, and she thought she could run a restaurant that already had a bad name?

@@Orangecataura There's actually another Kitchen Nightmares episode when 2 Waitresses took over a restaurant. The name is Classic American. Unlike Tatiana who's manipulating her own family to keep the restaurant for herself, those 2 are hardworking and they are genuinely confused of how to manage a restaurant in general. Also, the episode is one of the most peaceful KN episodes because there's no bad people, everyone accepted their mistakes, they respect to Gordon, the kitchen is surprisingly clean. The restaurant took 3 years to survive after the episode aired and they're still continuing their catering business. 3 years is fine but if you can survive for more than 5 years after the episode aired now it's a great accomplishment.

She cries because she thinks the chef is her friend, and she knew his family.
If he felt the same way, he'd have been trying harder and not mocking Ramsay.

Its the mom's fault. You can tell she didn't want Tatiana to fire him

Yeah it was really heartbreaking to watch honestly. She's obviously got her flaws but she definitely cared a lot for him.

Crying for a head chef that doesn't give a damn, can't even cook basic recipes and throws a tantrum when an actual chef calls him out on his BS. He knew he was in trouble the very first second he saw Gordon step into the kitchen. He knew his days were numbered, you can see it on his face. That smug, "I'll better start looking for a job tomorrow morning" face is instantly recognizable.
