Everytime I watch a Powerdrift video I just can't believe how good the writers are and how beautifully everyone executes it. This channel is hella underrated.
In my opinion 390 adventure can be the one bike in your garage. It gives almost equal performance as duke 390 plus it gives you the additional comfort of a touring motorcycle. As mentioned in PowerDrift videos, Himalayan is a good bike too, but it lack the power when it come to touring on highways. I have seen Himalayan struggling to reach 120 sometime on highway. I know our roads are not good for cruising in 120, but sometime you need that extra power.
I am 5.5' and one thing I remembered Shumi sir saying that it's not the bike, it depends on you how you carry your bike.. and also he said that go for the bike that you feel connects your heart... I sold my 4 months old bs6 classic 350 to get this one... every time I throttle the bike, a wide smile comes across my face.. thanks Shumi sir and Thanks POWERDRIFT...
Thanks sir... you really don’t know how much you inspire me ... one thing that I love other than my job is to ride ... and you helped me in a lot of ways... 😀
390 adventure looks like a good all rounder with good city, touring and off reading capabilities. Definitely on my list of my next motorcycle where I am looking exactly for this.
Nowadays Powerdrift videos are kind of books in a library with lots of details and information.. it's like ohh you have a doubt get this book and you will know your answers ❤️❤️
true that.. Being an owner of the ADV 390 2021, I must say its a tricky bike apart from the saddle height.. needs an experienced hand behind the bars to operate.. although.. I intend to keep it till the end of its registration date.. *but may now be able to swap the fully adj. suspension from the SW to make it an emo connect bike which one admires of!
Dude himalayan is just good in videos, in reality, it sucks! No brakes No precision No power. I think himalayan would be good for people upgrading from a scooter or a 150 cc. Not for anybody else.
One of the best video ever!!!!! Not talking about the technical mambo jumbo but to talk about how you connect with your bike, how you lean towards it to learn more and become a better rider is something almost every moto journalist miss out. And that's why I think this is the best video ever! And how can I miss out the comic timing!! just loved it!!! Cheers to you guys for bringing us the content most of the bike enthusiasts look forward to.
The way Kartikeya got hustled by Shumi in the end - priceless. Guys, please make this a series. We don't want you to stop at one. We could call the series Smartathon and sound real mature too 😂😂. I can't reiterate enough guys, F A N T A S T I C video.
The answer is Royal Enfield Bs6 Himalayan, after watching your review videos on himalayan, I was so excited and visited the nearest RE showroom and I am going buy my Himalayan within 8 weeks, Thanks for your superb review for that bike.
Discussion will become more interesting when RE himalayan 650 launch next year. Same power figures as 390 adventure and with genes of an absolute offroader. Pricing as predicted will be around 2.9 -3.10 lakhs.
That's a awesome review indeed this is what happens when two of a great bike reviewer's join their forces... Awesome review by both legends... A friend of Karthikeya Singhe great job bro... But I prefer my Dominar 400 over Duke 390 anyday...
Another great review interspersed with some casual banter Shumi! The 390 ADV has great potential. I'm certain we'll get the adjustable suspension with the model refresh soon-ish. On a different note, I am still waiting for the 790 ADV India launch. It would be a great upgrade from my 2015 DUKE 390. Oh and lest I miss out, the answer to the question is the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 BS6.
In my opinion, according to my experience, riding style and height (I'm 5'6"): The Himalayan: Comfortable and plushly sprung for the price. Runs out of breath on the highway. It needs a sixth gear. A bit lumbering in the city due to its 21 inch rims. Abysmal tyres from Ceat that lack any kind of wet road grip. 390Adventure: Beautifully mature all rounder. A bit too tall to daily to my office or to get out of tricky situations. Spacious for rear passenger. Would've gone for it if God had given me at least two more inches in height. Duke 390: Perfect bike for my needs and style. Only negative is the heat management. Have been stranded a top my gen 1 RC 390 in the rain on the highway because of a massive roadblock when the radiator fan conked off. I hope KTM has resolved such quality issues. Love the KTM brand, their motto and what they offer to us at the price point. I understand durability is not their USP but I'm the kind who is willing to look after the bike so that she looks after me.
Royal Enfield Himalayan was the last one to introduce in the video . But when it comes to my choice I will choose duke 390 over two of the off-roading bikes

The Motorcycle Introduced later in the video is Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6
Answer is:- Rolay Enfield Himalayan
Both the motorcycle are good but I would prefer Himalayan over 390 Adventure.
Royal Enfield Himalayan was the last one to introduce in the video . But when it comes to my choice I will choose duke 390 over two of the off-roading bikes
A very fantastic video which will be clearing out doubts from many heads.
I own D390 and apart from the seat the only complain I have is with it's stiff front suspension which is fine btw on tarmac but 👎🏻 when comes to ride continuously on rough/ off road patches.
Himalayan. Btw you guys did not talk abt how comfortable the adv is when compared to the Duke. For me that sealed the deal in favour of the adv.
Your's both discription on these bikes were really good and the bike shown later in the video was KTM 390 Duke.
What about riding position? Which one will give less back pain on long trips?
Royal Enfield Himalayan bs6🐘 is introduced later in the video at the 8th min of the video and at the end at 13:38 xpulse 200 name is also bought up.
The motorcycle introduced in the later part of the video is: Royal Enfield Himalayan (BS6 in "Gravel Grey" colour)
Any specific reason the BMW GS310 was not considered in this comparison?
Also, the Himalayan may be the better one but has significant complaints and reliability issues. One would rather prefer a reliable bike that can blindly be taken anywhere....in this context, is the KTM more reliable?
My only concern is that they used the new ktm adventure why not the new bs6 duke. The heat is reduced as it has a bigger fan compared to the old one.
A motorcycle is very personal to an individual's usage, needs, riding style, height, weight, skills, budget blah blah, etc. One motorcycle can't be perfect for everyone.
Himalayan - Might be a good motorcycle off tarmac but is seriously underpowered for highway cruises. Reaching the destination is also a part of the journey and experience.
Duke 390 - Pocket Rocket, but is tiny and cramped for big fellas like me
Adv 390 - Off-road characteristics disappointed millions, It had some serious flaws but will prove to be the most capable tourer at that price point and with the right mods will be a capable off-roader as well.
Did not like the approach for comparing Apples and Oranges in one frame... Biggies should help people make an informed decision and not outcast one over another.
Having said that, I like both the fellas... They are doing a phenomenal job. Good review and video although I disagreed with the advice of the motorcycle
