    Let me know what you thought! Should we prioritise exploratory therapy for gender dysphoric people?

    Dr Hakeem is saying all the things I say, especially around music culture. I was a New Romantic and all the men were beautiful to me, they dressed so well, wore makeup and did their hair with piles of hairspray and colour. They worked hard on their look, and broke all the manly man rules. It was an amazing time for men and women. Men can be beautiful, wear makeup and be non comforming, yet still men. What an excellent guest. I will be watching this at least twice and sending it to friends.

      feminist boomers 🙄 dreaming about old days, may be enough for some but it is a far cry from what life transitioning allows and a much larger dating pool. The oldest lie that society accepts very GNC children, if that were the case we not have developed gender dysphoria or had all the issues attached to it we do.

      I always think about this point. I need to understand what, if legally, we refer to natal sex, is the argument from some GC feminists on the implications of using pronouns apart from their desire and autonomy not to. I agree that should be respected.

      And I hate that. I hate even more when women do it to us. The sad thing is that they use "girl" as an insult to straight-passing gays. Being a woman is beautiful, it's just not what I am.

      @JackxJewell I think most gay men do so do it whimsically, and others do so in a way to "take back the power" from when they were bullied as boys being called "girls", "he-she's", "sissies", etc. I think for many it's a way of acknowledging that they prefer to express themselves in a stereotypically feminine way without thinking that they are supposed to be the opposite sex. You may also have others who prefer to think of themselves as "girls in boys bodies" but instead of feeling dysphoric about it and wanting to change their bodies, they enjoy this perceived "mismatch" as a unique way of walking through life. I'm sure most GC feminists won't appreciate these possible explanations but at least they are more of a private experience that don't involve these gay men entering female only spaces.

    • @Shahrdad
      @Shahrdad 4 місяці тому +2

      @@nitemvres2749 Agreed 100%. It's a whimsical thing where gay men celebrate their feminine side without every thinking they're women or that they belong in women's spaces.

      @@nitemvres2749 I’m gender critical and I love this. I still feel bad about using the pronouns that people don’t prefer, even after becoming GC it still made me feel like I was being mean. But this take on things gives me a reason to use preferred pronouns without feeling like I’m indulging TI men’s desires to enter women’s spaces or be legally recognised as women. The feminine pronoun is exactly that - the FEMININE pronoun, not the female pronoun.

    I’m autistic and a detransitioned woman. My experience resonates with so much of what Dr Hakeem is saying. I was traumatised due to being severely bullied at an all-girls school and associated being female with something bad. I had autoandrophilia that eventually developed into full blown gender dysohoria in part because of this experience. I had the black and white thinking of “you’re either affirming me or you hate me” and got angry and defensive whenever people challenged my identity.
    I’m extremely lucky that I didn’t have any surgical interventions. It’s terrible that I was allowed to take testosterone at all, let alone for as long as I was (which was 4 years). It should have been a requirement for people with my presentation to have extensive talk therapy before any kind of medical intervention. I wasn’t even diagnosed with autism until several years after I had already detransitioned. This system is a disgrace.

    A great conversation. I wish more people would talk to Dr. Hakeem. His discovery that there is a link between autism, asexuality and the desire to “transition” is fascinating and should be investigated further. I had a lot of behaviours as a kid that are now considered symptoms of autism (I have never bothered to be formally diagnosed). When I hit puberty I developed crushes on a few guys but had no curiosity about sex until my late teens. There does seem to be an over representation of “LGBT” among people with autism. As gender ideology has been propagated in the education system people with autism (an increasing number) have identified as “trans” especially non-binary. That label would have made sense to me at 14.

  • @honberg193
    @honberg193 6 місяців тому +4

    He's correct regarding follow up. Once your eventualy signed off, which in the UK was 3 years after SRS. You are no longer a statistic. What is observationaly evident is. 95% of those that use the term " trans " transitioned to some extent within the last 5 to 10 years. Leaving the 5% or so between 1960 and 2015. When trans really got political 30% of those of the early onset, and 70%, non homosexual subtype. Are the stats quoted by Blanchard. I do question some of his assumptions regarding evidence. Just because someone blends back into society. Doesn't mean that there is no evidence of its effectiveness in treatment. I also question the autistic claim for " transsexuals ". Autism is a disorder around social interaction. Historically treatment was given, primarily to improve ones social, and in many their sexual interactions i.e HSTS, but the same can be said of the other group, if severe enough. Dr Az, is also gay identified, he statement regarding HSTS is his opinion, and not that of the independent , but gay identified. Dr Cantor, Bailey and even Blanchard. What ones taste in men, and how ones orientation exhibits it's sexuality, was clearly described by these experts from their studies. GD kids don't don't know their orientatiin till puberty . Dr Az, is also heavily involved in LGB alliance, which is ideological by its own admission. Mental group membership opposite to ones sex. Is the disorder. Not ones sexual orientation. Dr Cantor and Dr Soh support the evidence that the early onset transsexuals brain, is pushed further in the opposite sex direction than gay men. That can result in gender identity disorder. For the few as adults. They are left with few options. Very rare.
    There as some homosexuals who claim to have GD, but don't. For them it's all about being ignored by gay men for not being what a gay man wants. They are observationaly very different, usualy attracting gamp men.

    • @JackxJewell
      @JackxJewell  6 місяців тому +4

      From what I've read, from Dr. Soh at least, there is evidence of feminised brains in the HSTS transexuals, but they are no different from regular gay men, so it is impossible to know if that has anything to do with causing GD, or if it is just correlated.

    • @cormorant12
      @cormorant12 5 місяців тому

      Yes, and that's why there is debate within the HSTS community, with those who see themselves as truly trans with gender dysphoria wanting to be distinguished from opportunistic gay men or "drag queens with extra steps", the latter courtesy of Kay Brown.

    • @cormorant12
      @cormorant12 5 місяців тому

      The "true trans" are quite resentful of Bailey's "y'all are transitioning to get laid" argument. He got accused of being a homophobic straight man who was too clueless to understand the complexity of the issue (and if you listen to Bailey's interviews, it does become evident he's not one for subtlety). Even Blanchard was not too fond of Bailey presenting it that way in The Man Who Would Be Queen.

    • @honberg193
      @honberg193 5 місяців тому

      @@cormorant12The HSTS community? The Trans Community. These are a modern online community. Where people apear to identify as things they may or not actualy be? Who Blanchard defined, and interviewed doesn't automatically translate to someone who calls themself HSTS. Those he saw and treated were wishing to fully integrate. Today anyone who is clinicaly homosexual, who got caught up in the new gender world. Calls themself HSTS. Some with disastrous consequences who later de transition. Kay apears to be the historical type. Genitaly Avoident, had surgery and settled down in a heteronormative relationship. The studies have always defined less dysphoric individuals who in some cases the distinction between transsexual and what some would call, transgender indivuals is sometimes not so clear. It apears to be a matter of intensity and societal acceptance, early in transition. Unlike AGP, there is a great deal of self awareness to outscomes/passabity, and especialy fear of transition. Which would of been much higher the further back in time. Only a few decades ago, one would of lost employment, family, and any possible support network. The True trans is still more about idenity politics within those communities than actual " same sex attraction " most from dipping a toe in those onmine communities, are either shemales, or autosexuals who, hate being such, or communities looking for gamp men, and not fully straight men. Mike Bailey apears to agree now.

      Some have mild agp feelings so can live happily whilst enjoying the sexual interest in private. Some will probably get help therapeutically if it becomes a disorder to help them manage their feelings/dysphoria. I assume some may recover this way. Some may continue to struggle if it is very bad and they don’t get the right help I guess. I think there are likely cases where it is so bad, they will struggle without surgery. That sexual abuse as a child is correlated with certain behaviours growing up is well studied.
      Its pretty obvious you are just reacting from a emotional or political standpoint, rather than thinking the idea through. Nobody needs to outlaw homosexuality or treat them bad, but yes, being sexually abused or maltreated as a child might cause issues with your sexuality down the line.
      I always get this feeling many leftists cant think in the grays that life actually concists off. Meanwhile conservatives can argue for caring for children to avoid difficult sexualities, AND want homosexuals to have decent lives.
      I have four very close gay friends, I can want to wish for their well-being, while simultaneously seeing that their many mental issues(homosexuality is strongly correlated with other mental issues too) was likely from a upbringing that wasnt really optimal.

    How insulting gender dysphoria is not ideological concept , it's not delusions or visions though some agps have those with their form but it is not G/D in the same sense.
    Too bad the Dr does has a vested interest and ignores why some would want the choice to opt out . Almost no cosmetic surgeons have the skill level to do SRS well which is functional ,they need to do better with standards like any other complex surgical speciality . BTW one of the reasons why it's hard to do follow up studies is because everyone i know has gone stealth, from 23 to late 50s transitioning decades ago that is the norm . This is about self determination not keeping people in the LGB, most of just like heterosexual men better & more sexually attractive to us.OUR CHOICE

      Despite being a 'non ideological transexual,' you're blatantly misquoting him, which is easily falsified. He said he was a 'neutral' space and did not try to convince them not to transition, nor to transition. He explored their feelings and their wider bio/psycho/social reality. Saying only 2% transitioned is a fact, not making it about him. It is an important fact, as it suggests there may be other, less invasive ways to help some people. Medical treatment is not just about 'my choice.' Would you not prefer some people don't become medical patients for life yet still happy and at peace? Medicine has a duty to 'do no harm' and provide care that is evidence-based. Not being able to follow-up on patients is a major problem, as they have no proof they are improving people's lives or not. If they were able to gather such evidence and found out the majority of people had improved circumstances and health, then that would be a big indicator it should be provided.

      Again Dr. Az Hakeem: "Only 2% of My Patients Transitioned" with a large number of patients with G/D and being very GNC ? please...NOT NEUTRAL .| This should not be a source of pride if the priority of the patients is first . Having a view * better to live gay* as a mode for therapy ignores research showing the shift to brain at the extreme end much better suited to living as the opposite sex and not having to cope with a far less ideal lifestyle and choices, G/D diagnosis has simply been the TRIGGER for a type , a well recognized self selecting cohort with different phenotype characteristics and WELL STUDIED.
      What i would like is for others to have the same choices i did and to avoid much of the traumas , comorbidities caused by our treatment INCLUDING being in and around the gay community with some of it's abusive men obsessed by sex who have not heard "No" enough because well gay culture ,gay men .🙄
      "Medical treatment is not just about 'my choice.' Would you not prefer some people don't become medical patients for life yet still happy and at peace? Most all of the these would be corrected by medicalization standards actual gate keeping ,use of decades of cases files. There would be READY current medical histories available if we could do it safely without outing ourselves. Many of us do share & add information to give to specialist and collect data but there is no data base which we have ASKED FOR. We have some specialized long term info that no one has , unpublished but real they just need more case files to add and then someone uncancelable to publish in areas . The problem is no one has the motivation do anything due to politics ( including Hakeem ) we cannot do it ourselves became AGP men run NGOs ,Orgs & then "you guys", Terfs, GCs of whom do not want MORE of us walking around unseen .
      Lack of follow up is an excuse to shut the door, no one anywhere has tried to change that .
