Heard this live & thought that @15:00 was the best advice yet! - that we try to see the world from a child's eye view, & ask what makes someone a girl or a boy, & if they don't yet understand the sexes, explain in an age-appropriate way that there are 2 types of body, & gently tell them which one they have & that it can't be changed. "Gender" doctrine reverses the child/adult roles. Let's switch this back the right way round. Adults understand the world BETTER.
""Gender" doctrine reverses the child/adult roles. Let's switch this back the right way round." This is absolutely correct. At some point in western societies, parents abdicated their parental responsibilities & wanted to be their child's friend. I'm like, "Oh, hell no! We can be friends when you're an adult, but until then, I'm your mother." I think that these parents (esp. the mothers) seem to be so afraid that their child will hate them. Again, I'm thinking, Who cares if he or she hates me? Lots of children say they hate their parents at some point. They're young; they'll get over it. LOL So we have basically 2 generations who, in different ways, want so badly to be liked that they simply have no tolerance for any kind of negative response to their actions & who either fall apart or become hostile when they encounter anyone who treats them with anything less than "validation" (positively reinforcing their every thought, behavior, & whim). When all the adults have left the room, the entitled bullies will come out and the people who truly ARE vulnerable are going to be in real danger from them.
Brilliant stuff. A teenage sub-culture featuring permanent medical consequences and a demand to have that culture given special protections under the law.
Dr Az Hakeem Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please don't ever stop talking. You are making sense of this damaging fad. I am a parent to three adult children. They all went through various phases and not making a huge fuss of their fantasies was our approach. Talking and gently challenging their ideas is a great approach. This affirmation is damaging to children, for when it leads to medicalisation the damage is permanent. In previous generations blue hair grew back.
I'm so glad to hear this from a parent. I've never even had kids yet **I** know to ask questions & be alert to social & cultural influences on a child. I just don't understand how parents can have kids & treat them as if they are just miniature adults who can make adult decisions about things they can't possibly understand. What child is thinking about the complications of surgery or of hormones? What child is concerned about being sterile or losing sexual sensations or losing 10-15 years off their lifespan? It's the narcissistic AGP MEN who are benefitting from this. They will use children's & young women's bodies to promote an agenda of validation so that society will give THEM validation for their fetish & with it, anything & everything they want, including access to women's spaces & to children. It's not these AGP men who are having their genitals removed. They will happily sacrifice the bodies of young people, though, esp. girls & young women, whom they despise anyway.
This is a brilliant, concise and heartbreaking watch. I’ve been in this fight for five years now and my mother has just started to see what’s going on. This is the video I’ve sent her to help her really understand what is happening. All the panelist’s are awe inspiring. Thank you for your bravery and your voices.
Panelists. Plural. More than one. "Panelist's" means "belonging to the panelist" (singular). Please learn when NOT to use an apostrophe. This continual erosion of written language on the internet bothers me. Grammar & spelling are how we understand each other. Yet, today, even with spell checkers & grammar correctors, people write what they hear and throw in unnecessary apostrophes everywhere (and don't use them when they should!).
Thank you Sinead for speaking out, this should be shouted from the rooftops. It is horrific that it only took 6months for the medical establishment to put you on a medicalised pathway, for such life changing alterations. I am glad that you have found some kind of emotional support from other transitioners.
Other DEtransitioners. Most transitioners HATE detransitioners, probably because they are threatened by their existence b/c it brings up deeply buried feelings that they may have made a mistake. Only a few transitioners publicly support detransitioners. Blaire White is one on YT. Based on what they have said about the transitioning of children, Miranda Yardley, Jenn Smith, Scott Newgent, Aaron Terrell, & Debbie Hayton also support detransitioners. Rose of Dawn is somewhat supportive. But the trans demands activists cult HATE detransitioners, AND they hate the trans people I mention above. They call people with actual gender dysphoria or "true trans", "truescum".
Sinead, you are right. Affirming self harm is insane. Affirm the child's ability to overcome. To integrate. To face puberty and come out the other side!
This is phenomenal. Thank you all for your important insights. As a child who struggled with gender dysphoria, it is clear to me that it is a form of dissociation. Encouraging children to dissociate is not appropriate treatment.
Hi Erin! I've seen some of your vids! Your interview with Jennifer (whose ex-husband is AGP), and your series with Mr. Menno are some of my faves. Thanks for using your channel to help these women & children who are victims of what clearly has the marks of a cult.
Man, Sinead's talk is POWERFUL!! One thing that jumped out to me about Dr. Hakeem's observations was about musical subcultures. I've heard the comparison of the gender trender phenomenon with being emo, goth, or punk in previous generations & I totally see that. But Dr. Hakeem makes a comment I've never considered. He said we USED to be defined by the music we listened to, but that's no longer the case. I find that interesting. Do you guys think that's true? It seems to me that young people still have pop singers & bands that define their generation. Of course, there are still pop songs that even I like today and I'm 60! [ETA: "Levitating" by Dua Lipa is one of my favorite songs!]
Dr Az Hakeem has shared a very in-depth insight of GD and more importantly ROGD (Rapid On-set Gender Dysphoria) as a sub-culture for young children / teens. Particularly as a phenomena since the inception of social media.
I've been saying this for years, since the advent, the invention of "the teen-ager" post war in the fifties, when youths for the first time had an identity, distinct from children or adults, when there began to be a middle stage that kids went through and that companies marketed to, music has been the way that kids tried on identities, had a ready made group with its own uniform, it's own subculture, its own rules. It started with rock n roll, mods and rockers, hippies, folkies, glam rockers etc etc. Now teenagers are still marketed at, and they still want to rebel, to experiment with who they are, work out what they do and don't like, try identities on for size, have a tribe to belong to. But music is so bland and samey, so devoid of any message or meaning of relevance, devoid of individuality, where do kids get to try different identities? I've been saying this for years. It's so obvious. Kids are adrift in a bland, mindless cultural wasteland of "reality" TV and autotuned crap. No wonder they gravitate towards gender identity and queer theory BS, what else IS there??
The fact that short hair in 2020s is by anyone considered a male thing beyond my imagination. What would Metallica said - those some of the most masculine guys in history of music? Not to even mention that I myself wear short hair and I never, not even for a split second, considered myself a male.

@@DonnaBrooks It’s just autocorrect. Get over yourself.
What wonderful guests , I think the best thing I've seen on the subject

Yes! All of this! Trans is the new emo/goth/punk.
Also, so moving to hear Sinead speak of her experience.
The trans movement cured anorexia with a worse remedy

Iatrogenesis: it's so rare that health professionals, especially among psychotherapists, recognize this phenomenon for its ramifications

This was an incredible talk, more of this is needed.
It really fits a lot of what I’ve witnessed

My sentiments exactly.
Are there not psychiatrists who are psychotherapists working at the Gender clinic in Nottingham?
