I really like the real world data. No one has a tape measure out on the course, so seeing you extrapolate the distances by walking it out or using a range finder to get somewhere close is awesome. I am getting a launch monitor soon, and I have found that all reviewers have said they like this one over the SC300, so I'll be buying a Mevo as well. To be within a couple yards on every shot is amazing. I'm nowhere near that accurate with my shots, so there is no way I could ever complain about a few yards. I also plan on using this for the range and not on a course. I need to get more accurate numbers for each of my clubs so I can better choose the correct club on the course.
@@andrewjensengolf Ordered and should be here within a week. Thanks for saving me $50 with your code. Looking forward to making my wedge game even better.
If there’s a marker on the Teebox drive to your ball grab your rangefinder and shoot the marker that’s on the Teebox I will give you more accurate yardage
At my range on mats I have a hard time but I think it’s due to the canopy ceiling cover... outdoors it works well.... into my net in the backyard works better with metallic dots that you apply to the ball....
My #1 complaint with the Mevo is the Session Issue....I can't tell you how many times I've had to first discover a misread or non-read shot...then accept that the only fix is shutting down the app. Waiting for the Mevo to power off (like 5 mins after Bluetooth stops), then reopen the app, restart the mevo and start a new session. Ugh....firmware update please? It's been like 2 years since the last one.
Could I suggest bringing a buddy with you and have him up in the fairway or green to see exactly where it lands and then laser him for exact carry distance. That would be extremely valuable. Thanks
@@CactusGolf87 probably a new feature. But yeah elevation can make a big different in how far the ball carries. I live at 4000 ft and my irons all carry 10 yards longer here than at sea level. Driver is almost 20 yards further
Dang. When Fried Eggs reviewed this a while back I was on the verge of getting it, I only worried about its accuracy. It's looking so good from your video.. ANDREW, my wife is going to be upset with me... haha.
The Mevo isn't designed to be used on the course. In the settings, you have to put in the distance the unit is from the ball. It is graduated in INCHES. It is designed for use in a static setting.
@@MachoManAndySavage125 I did, it took a few sessions to really correlate what I’m feeling to what I’m seeing, Took all the guess work way out! I love this little thing!

You have to take into account wind. If you hit it 180 but there’s headwind, it May land 170 but you technically hit it 180. So it would be 10 yards off
My experience with mevo was similar. It distinguished real balls from range balls pretty well. It was very accurate until 110mph of swing speed. The algorithm couldn't quite pick up the ball. The most crucial part is the setup. The accuracy of the data is measured by the distance from the ball down to an inch. You really need some sort of tape measure to get that 6ft distance spot on.
Scott Dreyfus very interesting. Device sounds sensitive and a little high maintenance, but at the price there doesn’t seem to be anything else like it.
I wasn’t. I would only use them if I was indoors as I don’t want to hit them out on to the range and lose them or don’t want to use them out on the course 🤷🏼♂️
@@andrewjensengolf Thanks for the answer!! So we can assume that there might not be a lot of variation by using or not the metal dots. I had the same concern about using them on the range
On course it works well... but at my range I hit off mats and some what enclosed ... if mevo is not leveled with ball doesn’t register... and mats aren’t long enough for mevo to rest behind it’s minimum distance from ball...

You seem to have a pretty fast club head speed, like me. Would you say the driver readings for speed and backspin are accurate compared to more expensive (trackman or gc2) units?
The numbers begin to skew a little when the ball speed is over 160/165. You can't compare this unit the full fledged units like x3, Trackman, or GC2. This is a consumer model that is remarkable for it's price point, but will definitely see differences at the high end of speed. If it's just for fitting drivers, it's not for you. But if you want a unit that will help you dial in your wedges, irons and get a ballpark idea on how your woods are performing, then yes, this is perfect for that
Andrew Jensen my ball speed is usually around 175. I’ve gotten it up to 185, buts really going after it. My main concern is the accuracy in back spin numbers. If they’re a few 100 rpm off that’s won’t be a big deal. When I’m not swinging correctly my back spin numbers for my driver are in the low to mid 3,000’s. Swinging well they’re the low 2,000’s
That's more apples to oranges. This is a 500$ unit, it will certainly have its limitations when compared to the full units. Comparing an X3 to Trackman, etc is a fairer test, but then we aren't talking consumer friendly products anymore. Not many people beyond coaches or tour players are dropping 15k on a practice aid
Good point. I was thinking it more in terms of learning where it shines and where it falls short. But your test was effective in figuring that out anyway.
Are using the dots? This is the only thing that I’m worried about. I do a lot of my practice at my local driving range. Don’t think they would like all the dots on their balls.
Amateur hour. This is just sad. I mean for real, so you know approximately if the distance is right? How about the spin? How about the launch angle? How do you know if that date is even close. I'm half surprised you didn't use a yardstick.
I started working with the device and get lots of questions about it... I'm sorry if making videos about a device/tool I use in my practice, that I'm working to inform people about is "ridiculous" in your eyes.
Vic Vinegar - this is exactly the type of video I’ve been waiting for before I pull the trigger on a device like the Mevo. Mevo has been out for a couple of years now and this is probably the best video featuring the device to date. I found this video to be very informative. For me, I’d be using this type of device to dial in my wedges. Is Andrew being paid or did he get the device for free? Perhaps, but his video using the device is honest and pretty objective.
You don't really have to watch it if it annoys you too much. I would stop searching for "Flightscope" if I'm on your shoes. Lastly, stop being sour bro although you maybe just living up to your name. Peace!
I'm glad I found a video that takes a launch monitor and actually checks its accuracy in real life instead of comparing one to another.
Haha I know right! I don’t understand all the videos that compare them one to another... what does that gain?!
Thank you brother. You got me $50 off 15 months after you posted this vid. Much appreciated. :)

Been curious about Mevo for a while. If Mevo 2 will give lateral dispersion for $1000 or less, I'll definitely be buying that one.
Finally pulled the trigger on one of these, I have been waiting for a review like this!!! Can’t wait to start playing with it

Great video - definitely looking into getting one. You could put it on a short tripod to get it off the ground for better precision/readings.
You could, but would only need to do that if hitting off a mat and need the MEVO level with the ball. Any higher up and the readings would be skewed
