i love the sudden gasp of relief you hear from Tim when she starts breathing again. Then, even better, is the little 'no' and 'you're ok' he whispers as he sees she starts to sob. Its so sweet to see how badly he wants to make her feel safe.
He's a former marine. Marines never leave a man behind. Add to the fact they're both in the same "brotherhood" of cops, and he's her TO, that's a lot of reasons why Tim would care about Lucy.
Jackson, and Harper also continued using their hands, does it say a lot about how much they care about Lucy to? I'd say everything after she took a breath shows how much he cares about her way more than digging
So annoying when people complain about shows not doing the correct cpr. Obviously they can’t do it the right way or else they would break the actors ribs.
While I agree that we shouldn't hurt our actors, basic cpr is something that is so easy to get right. Someone on set had to have been trained in at some piont. 20 seconds to Google cpr. For some people that is the only training they will get, and when seconds matter 20 seconds is too long.
Doing proper CPR on the actors is very very uncomfortable. It will spoil the entire scene if the actors had to react to the discomfort caused by actual CPR. Doing proper chest compressions on a live patient will run the risk of interfering with the heart's rhythm.
Recognized her ring in the middle of a desert. Dug her out with his bare hands. Single handedly brought her back to life. Held her while she sobbed. “You’re okay.” Stayed with her all night. Made sure she ate. If that isn’t soulmate material idk what is. 😭

I wanna watch it but once they get together. Edit: coming back to this comment. I started watching it anyway just for them. Their chemistry is so good ahh.
It was heartbreaking. But it was also a GREAT performance of Melissa - to react like that, the sudden crying, shaking hands - she covered every detail - great acting skills
It's a sad but beautiful scene. I love that Tim is digging so hard in the ground. That after they pulled Lucy out, he doesn't let anyone near her and that he's the one doing CPR. Then that sigh of relief when Lucy regains consciousness, and finally the way Tim holds her so tight.
You're misreading. Tim is a senior officer and her TO, he has a responsibility to her, and also has control of the scene. Officers are trained so that the first officer on scene who needs to provide aid provides it, and they only move for specific people, like a senior officer or a paramedic. Getting Nolan to let go of the Lt's body was hard and she was dead with no chance, Lucy was still fighting. Tim is a good man. He actually explains after she becomes a full officer that he was only strict because she saw the world as a nice place, and needed to be more guarded, needed an edge. He changes his approach entirely with a former military rookie who was seemingly better than Lucy at first, but was actually too guarded. She needed to unclench a bit after coming from a place where civilians are threats, whereas when you're a cop, they're your fellow citizens. She chose to leave the police when she realized she needed to adjust back to civilian life. Could come back, it's the lady who plays the evil Imperial who tricked Dr. Pershing in The Mandalorian. Seen her in a few other things, she's pretty badass.
@@Lorrddthe fact that they end up together shows that they are not misreading lol. yes he’s senior officer but this was clearly an emotional and personal response not only because he felt guilt as expressed in this episode but also because he grew to care about lucy and didn’t want her to be dead
This is a scene that I will think about for the rest of my life. The acting is perfect. The way Chen breaks down in Bradfords arms has real emotion behind it. I couldn't ask for anything better. No one else could have pulled it off like those two did.
The way Tim held Lucy when he pulled her out shows the amazing chemistry they have, I’m so ready to see Tim fall in love again and be happy.... Underneath his rough talk, is a man who has an amazing heart ❤️
I love this scene so much. It's my favorite Chenford scene. The way he holds her so tightly is so beautiful. Her breaking down in his arms is heart wrenching. This scene is just so perfectly done. One critique. Doctors will ALWAYS say to lead with chest compressions BEFORE giving mouth to mouth. Thanks Dr. Mike.
They might have cut it out, cause to me his hand gestures seemed like he would start with the chest compression but then he changes to mouth to mouth. Maybe I am misreading but I can imagine that this scene should be to long so they may have cut out some cpr.
In the 70s we were taught CPR this way - give two breaths first, observe a few seconds, then do compressions next. Lots has changed since then. Not sure why the old way was shown.
@@delightschwartz2155I know Tim’s not that old but he was combat military and he probably defaulted to what field medic practice he was taught. Idk I’m just imagining with back story, where realistically it’s probably more like they are advised by retired professionals 🤷♀️
This scene showed up in my recommendations last Monday. I immediately fell in love with Bradford & Chen. I binged the series in 6 days because of these 2 and am now caught up on live episodes. I regret nothing! Chenford ❤️
the eerie, dark piano to them digging her out and trying to bring her back, then the instant change into a happy and relieving melody makes this scene a whole lot more scary and sad, because this could happen to anyone, and it's a very real thing. Never thought a show could make me so emotional.

It's basically exactly what went down with Nolan except worse because he's her boss.
From this scene, this is when you can see the love they truly have for One another. This is the part where I seen that he would ask her on a date and he does.
He recognized her ring in the middle of the desert, dug her up with his bare hands, single handedly brought her back to life, held her while she sobbed and comforted her. Now if that isn't soulmate material, hell I don't know what is 😭💖
I have a couple predictions on how this relationship will go 1. After this whole debacle, Lucy will be hesitant to date anyone for a while. She will most definitely develop PTSD that affects her job performance and Bradford will help her get over it. During this, the two will develop feelings (or if there were already some, which there totally was, those feelings will grow) for one another, but the job, and their past, AND Tim's current girlfriend will get in the way of it happening. I do believe a kiss will be shared soon tho 2. The writers will not even put them together because they hate us and our ships
He saved her and sat with her until she woke up I love Bradford and Lucy together not to mention how he brought her food her favorite food and she said you know me so well I thought they need to be together.
fantastic... Lucy is alive and well and Bradford was the one who found her, it would be the definition of anticlimactic if it were for someone else...anyone other than Bradford... and also Bradford was the one who gave her mouth to mouth since he was thee one closest to her .....so all in all...that was fantastic. now...can we please move into from Bradford giving Lucy mouth to mouth to Bradford actually taking Lucy's breath away ? Like please? Thank you writers...also...never mind ...just give us Chen and Bradford and we're pretty much all happy...
the part i love about this is the episodes following it. not one of them think any less of Lucy for breaking down like that. It not only shows how much trust she has in everyone, but also how much respect everyone has in her. Yeah, she went through something traumatic and she is 100% warranted to have that reaction and worse, but others would have judged her and made assumptions about her, thinking she wouldn't be able to do the job anymore. Not one of them thought that of her ( and no, Tims reaction the next episode is not the same thing)

There's so many things I love about this scene, and the entire episode is one I'll never stop loving or watching. But I absolutely love the fact that this was before they officially fell in love. For Tim, it's finding the rookie he's training, who has somehow become basically a close friend to him, someone who has had his back on multiple occasions without question, who has been there for him in so many different ways (which she didn't need to, but she did anyway). Someone who already means a lot to him. There was no possible way he was leaving without her, and the relief of getting her back, safe and sound is as obvious as the sun is bright. This is definitely the turning point in their friendship where he became that much more protective over Lucy as well, which I'm also a sucker for XD.
I'd like to see them end up together. To me, they always had pretty good chemistry. I know some people see them as family-like, but I just don't see it like that between them. I ship them. Even the actor who plays Tim is a pretty big shipper of them!
After watching this episode with Lucy & Bradford I'm hooked..what an emotional scene, looks like their relationship will grow thru out the season their chemistry is there for sure
I randomly saw this clip on UA-cam and this is what prompted me to start watching the show when it was already a couple seasons in. Now we have finally have Chenford happening. My heart is content.
very powerful scene. it makes me cry every time i see Chen crying. i couldn't imagine the horror someone would go through in this situation, but i can understand the reaction. great show!
This scene and the one about Chen getting stabbed with a used syringe kept being recommended to me on UA-cam. So I decided to watch The Rookie show. Finished in 4 days, and now I'm all caught up to the live episodes in Season 5. This show is so good and I'm obsessed with Chenford! Happy I didn't have to wait years to see Lucy and Tim get together finally.
THIS SCENE 😭😭😭 one of my favorite episodes by far. melissa & eric’s performance...wow...the acting was *phenomenal.* you can feel every ounce of raw emotion & intense relief. not to mention this episode gave us chenford shippers a heart attack 🥺💖 tim is absolutely soulmate material & i can’t wait for lucy to propose to his ass
The fact that Tim went right in to do mouth to mouth and cpr. He didn’t give up and lose hope for Lucy, that’s how much they care for each other. So much chemistry between them! ❤
This program is the best by far ever !!! They better never take it off..It puts all other programs 2 shame. It had me on the edge of my seat since it started..I love every character..So keep on writing... You have a great thing going. I have watched every episode and this was the best by far...
Everyone is like, oooh, ship! I'm just like, damn, that's some great acting. Her reaction hurt my soul and the way she curled up against him while the extent of her trauma hits her, it's stunning. And no, I didn't search this and no, I don't watch this show
I really hope they end up together. He found her, dug her out, brought her back to life, held her while she was crying and scared, stayed with her all night at the hospital. If that’s not a soul mate idk what is.
I like how if you listen closely once she breathe’s again, you can him tell her “ I’m right here” and “You’re alright” She know that no matter what happens, Tim will be looking out for her and making sure she is safe.
What I love about this scene and the show in general that they show the impact of trauma. All of them are affected at a certain time by the horror they face, no one is all the time "meh, what ever". But still everyone shows that they are capable and still human beings. No one looks down on Lucy after what she has been through they just look after her, they are concerned and understanding, but they don't see her as weak
That episode was awesome I'm so glad Tim found her. I cried😭😭😭😭😭 He truly is one-of-a-kind 🥇🥇🏆🏆. He didn't even give up. I give this show of five 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I was rewatching this episode and my mom who has never seen this show before had seen a few minutes of it and she asked me if Tim was in love with Lucy....I mean can you tell The way he looks at her....Eyes say it all
After watching this clip a million and five times, I realized that he actually gasps audibly (1.43) when Lucy starts breathing. That tells you how terrified he was of losing her. It is so incredible to see this super controlled badass losing his shit over Lucy in front of his coworkers. The way he cradles her to him. Swoon.
I think my fav part is his audible sigh at the end when he's holding her! It is a literal sigh of relief that she is alive and there! It's so subtle, and I abs love it!
The relationship I can’t ! The way she just cried in Tim’s arms and Tim held her ! AHHH ❤ ALSO I felt so bad for Lucy in this scene but also so happy she’s alive… This proves how many people care about Lucy x
Agreed. They would be cute. But the show already has one 'well-off' couple in Angela and Wesley. It's hard to write a 'happy' couple (or so I'm told). And at that point in the story there was no way they would pull a romantic storyline with these two, because of the T.O.-Rookie constellation. Would have undermined the show. But Lucy owes Tim a dance. I would be very disappointed if that wouldn't happen before the show concludes.
This scene is amazing it feels realistic, like no dramatic over playing music, just one key playing over and over again on the piano until the end, her acting is amazing, and the way how this scene while they were digging her out like this scene wasn't dramatic it felt real eventhough it's a scene but man 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 the best scene ever!!
This scene always gets me. The whole time she was in there she was trying so hard to stay defiant, not give the killer the satisfaction of seeing the despair and fear he was looking for, but it all falls off the moment she regains consciousness and realizes she's found, she's alive, she's *safe*, and she can finally allow herself to cry it all out, she can finally break and she knows someone will be there to pick up the pieces.
I didn't notice this until now, but when he goes to hug her (around the 1:47 to 1:49 mark or thereabouts) you can hear him whisper "I'm here," after he keeps saying, "You're okay." What a difference a rewatch makes! This scene was so haunting on every level- you felt Tim's fear and his guilt because she's HIS rookie specifically. Brilliantly acted by Eric and Melissa.
Instead of just stepping back and letting her lay there once she comes to, he immediately puts his hand under her head and an arm around her. He’s so protective of her 🥹
@@chloesimpson2438 I literally started binging this show two weeks ago (yes I purchased seasons 1 & 2 and all the episodes from season 3 on youtube bc I couldn't find the episodes anywhere), I discovered it after binging American Idol and seeing the clip from it, I literally just caught up to the last episode! @@RoyalMasterpiece Feels more like a father daughter relationship
I agree it s more like a brother and sister relationship
I'd like to see them end up together. To me, they always had pretty good chemistry. I know some people see them as family-like, but I just don't see it like that between them. I ship them. Even the actor who plays Tim is a pretty big shipper of them!
They have more of a brother and sister relationship. I do not want them together.
To all the people just now finding this clip… yes they are together now. As of season 5. Trust me the wait is worth it
Very
This aged well
I reaaaally hope they end up together. Please don’t mess this up.
@Christina
Now … 😮
The fact that the whole cast was there for her, that was pretty awesome!
I need them together pls. My dad literally asked when we watched it tonight,he asked are they together?
Does your dad watch the show?
I ADORE TheRookie.... This was an on the edge of your seat moment and I just love Bradford and Lucy......
My heart is content.
very powerful scene. it makes me cry every time i see Chen crying. i couldn't imagine the horror someone would go through in this situation, but i can understand the reaction. great show!
Best episode ever. The no background music made it more compelling. Watched it twice and my tears fell a second time.
What episode is this?
Omg, that was all I hoped for in this episode, now please make them a couple, they are so so good together! 🥰

@@noemimachado7468 S2,episode 11
This scene and the one about Chen getting stabbed with a used syringe kept being recommended to me on UA-cam. So I decided to watch The Rookie show. Finished in 4 days, and now I'm all caught up to the live episodes in Season 5. This show is so good and I'm obsessed with Chenford! Happy I didn't have to wait years to see Lucy and Tim get together finally.
I cry every time I watch this. It’s so amazing how much Tim really cares about her
THIS SCENE 😭😭😭 one of my favorite episodes by far. melissa & eric’s performance...wow...the acting was *phenomenal.* you can feel every ounce of raw emotion & intense relief. not to mention this episode gave us chenford shippers a heart attack 🥺💖 tim is absolutely soulmate material & i can’t wait for lucy to propose to his ass

@@shiaraminera6143 s2ep10 I believe
The character development on this show has been great. I love every one of them.
I’m so happy Tim found her and all I need now is them to be a couple.
1:54 when she was crying it made my heart hurt
After seeing this I binge-watched the whole show 3 times. I love it and I'm gonna re-watch it again
I was waiting months for this.
It did not disappoint!
Holy shit, nathan fillion has gotten really thin. I almost didn’t recognize him.
I love how the closest friends to Chen start digging with their hands. That shows how much they love her❤
I came here after seeing the recent episode of “The Rookie” when it’s Lucy’s last day as a rookie cop! I ship these two so damn much it’s crazy! 💖
Everyone is like, oooh, ship! I'm just like, damn, that's some great acting. Her reaction hurt my soul and the way she curled up against him while the extent of her trauma hits her, it's stunning. And no, I didn't search this and no, I don't watch this show
I love how Tim’s compassion is so strong in this episode!
Wich episode and season
I really hope they end up together. He found her, dug her out, brought her back to life, held her while she was crying and scared, stayed with her all night at the hospital. If that’s not a soul mate idk what is.
Amen!!! They deserve to be with each other! ❤❤❤
Ikkk and they made the most worried of all
I like how if you listen closely once she breathe’s again, you can him tell her “ I’m right here” and “You’re alright” She know that no matter what happens, Tim will be looking out for her and making sure she is safe.
@@lisanef04 I love that 🥺
What I love about this scene and the show in general that they show the impact of trauma. All of them are affected at a certain time by the horror they face, no one is all the time "meh, what ever". But still everyone shows that they are capable and still human beings.
No one looks down on Lucy after what she has been through they just look after her, they are concerned and understanding, but they don't see her as weak
I is love that he helped shield her from any potential cameras. And the sun was blocked by his hand so not to blind her.

Season 2 ep 11
I think in this moment every one knew how Tim felt about her except for Tim himself
Swoon.
Such a great moment...and who knows these two could be an endgame someday
I think my fav part is his audible sigh at the end when he's holding her! It is a literal sigh of relief that she is alive and there! It's so subtle, and I abs love it!
This scene was literally what made me hunt down and watch this show. I need these two together next season.
What season and episode?
@@davidvanderhorst111n Season 2, episode 11, it's called Day of Death.
Me too. ❤️
The relationship I can’t ! The way she just cried in Tim’s arms and Tim held her ! AHHH ❤
ALSO I felt so bad for Lucy in this scene but also so happy she’s alive…
This proves how many people care about Lucy x
I hope Tim and Lucy end up together because they are perfect for each other. I am also glad that Tim found Lucy.
Those two are meant to be 😭❤️
Is it just me or is anybody else so mad that they are still not together
They would be the cutest couple ever❤️
0:35 me and the boys when we hit the X spot on the funny map that we bought off a 9 year old:
Iconic moment of the show undoubtedly still gets me emotional
I didn't notice this until now, but when he goes to hug her (around the 1:47 to 1:49 mark or thereabouts) you can hear him whisper "I'm here," after he keeps saying, "You're okay." What a difference a rewatch makes! This scene was so haunting on every level- you felt Tim's fear and his guilt because she's HIS rookie specifically. Brilliantly acted by Eric and Melissa.
Never watched this show and have no clue why it would show up in my feed.
Lool
Because you need to.
@@mikodeshfr
Instead of just stepping back and letting her lay there once she comes to, he immediately puts his hand under her head and an arm around her. He’s so protective of her 🥹
He literally stopped breathing when she did. The way he holds her shows so much of how he actually feels about her.
I love this. No "what took you so long", no bravado, just someone responding honestly to someone horrific.
Don’t even watch the show and I ship them
Haha me too!
It’s called the rookie. You should definitely watch it! It’s on its third season and it’s on ABC

The fact that everyone stared running right away as soon as he said "i got her" shows how much they love and care for lucy i was afraid someone was about to say "tim its over"but no tim didnt give up he kept doing cpr until she woke up and the way he held her to let her know everything is ok it heartwarming and i love it and despite everything lucys when thro with tim he still cares for her deeply and l love how strong tim and lucys bond is its so strong that as soon as bradford found out she was missing he did everything in his power to save her and he even said in one sence of this episode that "i will do whatever its takes to save her"gives use a clear understanding of tims and lucys bond iv seen this sence so many times and everytime i do it brings a smile to my face knowing lucy is ok❤
