2 Editing tips: 1. Even in this video you’ll see this done, we have the attention span of a gold fish now, so count to 3 if you can, and make the scene change whether it’s a dynamic zoom or cut to another scene. Make some sort of movement for the viewers eyes. 2. Have more creative cuts, a few times in those video you’ll hear him talk before we see the scene of him actually talking. Use music to lead yourself into the next beat to put your next scene. Plenty of creative options here.
I just got fully monetised a few days ago! And around 2 weeks before that I hit 1000 subscribers, it was a very long and difficult journey of 3 and a half years of much effort and a little frustrating but I achieved the big goal, I never gave up, I kept going and going. So if you still not monetized don't worry you will do it just be consistent and don't give up never.

Great video! I'm a small channel myself, and I'm always looking for ways to improve my reach and growth. I found your tips to be very helpful and informative. One thing I particularly liked was your emphasis on creating high-quality content that is relevant to your audience. This is something that I'm always striving for, and I know that it's one of the most important factors. I think it's important to note that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to the UA-cam algorithm. What works for one channel may not work for another. It's important to experiment and find what works best for you and your audience. It's also important to be patient. It takes time to grow a successful UA-cam channel. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. Just keep creating great content and promoting your channel, and you'll eventually start to see growth. Thanks again for the great video!
No...the audience does not always have a choice. There are plenty of channels I've subscribed to and set notifications for, that are suppressed, shadow banned or deboosted. Some channels have been removed from my notifications list or even automatically removed from my subscriptions. This is a real issue with UA-cam, so do not gaslight people into thinking that UA-cam always gives viewers a choice.

I totally get this about UA-cam. It is really hard and indeed it's not an exact science. What is very very consistent is that the more videos I post the better the success is when one of the long videos becomes successful. I do dedicate more time on the thumbnail and on the title these days and in general I am getting better views and subsribers. To anyone out there who thinks UA-cam is hard work, I can testify to that :), but consistency is what saves a channel in the end. More important than consistency is perseverance. Keep going and never give up and take breaks. They are very helpful to get creative.
Your video inspired me to start my first UA-cam Shorts Channel. So far posted 5 Videos and got around 10K views. I know its not much, but I am really enjoying this new found passion. Thank you 😊
That's right, i am also ang small content creator and sometimes hard to get what you want but at the end of the day i always think that it is not about the numbers it's about the joy and passion in doing. Thanks
I’ve definitely recently noticed many smaller UA-cam channels being pushed on the browse page. I have recently switched my content and the videos have been pushed on the browse page and have done well for under 1k subscribers. It’s definitely doable so keep on going ❤
I just hope I get growth. I was previously scared about videos and shorts that didn't perform well. But now... I've seen videos, including from you guys, that the "gratification on upload" as I see it, will not always be there. Gratification on a video will be highly variable while a variety channel is small. You still have multiple seed audiences to cater to.
Personally what I have been doing lately is experimenting with thumbnails to see what ones in my case appeal more for what type of content (I have ad compilations and me screwing around with tech overall in a positive way) and every time I finish a video and see how it performs I ALWAYS use the data I can collect and see if I can find a creative way to make the next one look like it’s blown out of the water compared in quality weather it has to do with camera work, audio, effects, and lighting. After watching some of these videos I have shredded parts of what I was going to do on my next video that’s a work in progress and see if I can empathize more of a hook at the beginning in my case
Answered my questions by the end. I've had the one video blow up and slow increases in views and subscribers since then. I need to keep my head up and continue the work and effort. Thank you for the video!
Well, now I think my main problem is TAM. And that I do not spend enough time on thumbnails and titles 😆. Let's see if I can figure that out. Really good video! Thanks!! 🎶
I finally made some changes to my account with video quality and putting more of my focus on my titles, thumbnails, and being more consistent with posting. With these changes, I've definitely seen some growth within the last week or so. A big step up from where I was a year ago, especially after some time off from posting. I'm glad I've made these changes with some help from videos like this.
#2 is the hardest for me. I have SO MANY THINGS to choose from but its hard to pick one niche. My channel is about living in Hawaii but I was a former bullied fat kid (200lbs at age 10 while in the 80s, shudder) who almost got his break in Pro sports. Now I help first responders w training and tactics, as well as computers and mechanics. But I've been working on my thumbnails too.
STOP....It's not about a niche, whoever told you that needs to be kicked in the teeth. What you need to do is find a way to become valuable in whatever industry you are apart of. Forget Niche, that makes it sound like only certain people will like your content if you cater to their bias needs. Screw all of that, be someone who has real world value, have experience, have stories to tell, that is what people really want. They want truth tellers vs all these fake ass scammers we have now. People want to learn from others who have fallen hard in life, got back up and succeeded. Are you one of those people? If so, your niche will not matter at all, but your personality and energy are what will attract people to you long term. It doesn't matter what niche you are in, what matters is, are you worth listening to and if so...why?

Still struggling with understanding why I'm not getting traction when I feel like I'm doing it as well as similar channels. Watched a channel release the same type of video as me today, at a similar time, theirs has blown up and mine has 100 views... really demoralised :(@@vidIQ
Weird also that I was trying to be supportive here with this comment and YT asked me to double check this comment before I posted it - weirder and weirder :)
I just started uploading and got 4 subs . I will keep pushing doing what i can and upload as much as i can and see what will happen im already happy that i can upload some. For the person who reads this dont quit on your channel. Trust the process.
Here is my question: how do I know if my videos flop or not? What are the things that show me that my videos flop? Like if I made UA-cam for a year and I don’t get 50.000 clicks on s video, have I failed then? Or are people sometimes just not clicking my content because it has under 10.000 clicks and people don’t think a video is worth watching that has so little views?
Very helpful tips. Will certainly try doubling thumbnail time and less time spent on tags/descriptions. Viewers will never see this afterall of the thumbnails aren't working!! Thank you ❤❤
That's funny..the thumbnail after trail. Very accurate. I just tweaked a thumbnail I imagine 100 times in 36 hours. Deleting those rejects it's astounding how many there were 😊
I've tried a 101 video styles over the past 7 or so years with varying success and I am at this impasse where I don't know what I want my content to be. I don't enjoy very many things anymore so I don't really have much to have conviction with when it comes to the subject matter of my videos and by extension my potential niche. I have what it takes to make a channel work, I just literally don't have a clue as to what it is I would enjoy making content on.
One thing I also pay attention to is that sometimes I see videos that I want to watch but not at the time I saw it... Sometimes I save them to watch later list..but hardly go through the list 😂. Sometimes I am watching a good video and change it to a different one for reasons that doesn't mean the video was bad. Taking these into consideration with the analytics, I don't stress it as much.
Nope, consistent work being done above average is what pays off! You can work hard and still not get anywhere in life, just go ask the middle class about this.
Here is a question for VidIQ to look into. How long after you upload a long form video should you post a Short that directs people to the long? Should you wait and give the video a chance to breath, or should you post them back-to-back?
why would you do that in the first place? Just post a link for the long video and be done with it. Creating extra links to it with a shorter version just makes it spammy! Algorithms like direct links to a piece of content, it saves time for the end users to get what they are after, adding a bunch of side videos or shorts does nothing but create more of the same content which angers algorithms which is why they have filters that push down duplicate content down in rankings. Maybe you should post to 25 sites or more to get results vs relying on probably 3-4 platforms like most people. Let me guess, you use Tik Tok, Instagram, UA-cam, and Twitter and that's about it? You have to do a hell of a lot more than that to gain traction for videos on any platform.
@@CompetitionSportsNetwork I do it because UA-cam created the feature in hopes that it would help to drive traffic to the long form videos and also VidIQ said you get about 10% more traffic to the long form. And I only use UA-cam no other. I dont post links anywhere.
My small channel I feel is having an issue growing. I make a lot of cute and funny shorts with my animals. My UA-cam mentor who’s been doing this for a very long time I won’t mention his name because he might not appreciate it. However, I just had this discussion with him. Because my husband and I were feeling really unmotivated and like our content isn’t being pushed. We’ve been at this for almost 5 months now. And we only have 153 subscribers. As well, we have videos that my mentor has even said, should go viral, yet no they haven’t. But one of the things that he touched on is the fact that you need to be very specific about your niche and your title description as well as the hashtag. So if these things are all over the place, UA-cam won’t understand what the video is about or who it should be testing it out on. For instance, if you are doing a video about a specific animal, make sure everywhere in your title, description, and hashtags you use that animals name. You can’t be all over the place with them.
Trying to grow my channel, but it's such a bloody slow process! UA-cam really hurt the creators when it decided to put a minimum of subscribers (many years ago now) to monetize. I used to be able to monetize with only 70 subscribers! Those were the days. Never made any real money back then, but once the rules changes I just gave up on youtube.
Just got back into making UA-cam videos. My husband went through a hip surgery and started a channel and got me motivated to talk about our life and my own personal journey in hopes it'll help someone out there someone like me❤ Stay motivated even with 1 view i want to see how far i can go and document my growth
The only thing I disagree on is that you should not focus on description box. UA-cam employees can tell you, and so can " experts" that Desc triptions do not matter. I have proven that wrong. Especially when my Main Channel is an educational channel that depends a lot on search. UA-cam is a program. It needs information to be able to know who test your videos with. So if you do not have a good description, and you are a new channel....The Program will have no idea who to test your content with.
People also need to understand sometimes a channel just won’t perform no matter what you do. I had my views drop to 5% of what I was previously getting, and subscriber growth completely stopped. The channels that succeed are the ones who persist despite this. After all, an ice cream vendor may get a lot of business in the summer, but they’re not going to see the same success once winter hits.
I need a video on why UA-cam will serve the video to from 1k to 3k views. 30 second watch rate is 90+%, impression / click through is 15%, but then it just turns off. In the middle of the night. As a software developer seeing everything I am looking at, it seems that the size of your channel, and the life of your channel may contribute as to how long or how far they leave it in suggestions. I realize there's session time, comments, likes etc. But I am failing to understand why impressions suddenly stop. If there's a video like this, id love to see it. Thanks.
Just pay one of these UA-cam helpers to audit your channel, they’ll personally check your page and tell you what is needed..thinking about doing this 🤔
its even more depressing when you get shadowbanned. And with the sssniperwolf situation, its hard to believe they dont do something to push the 'top' creators.
@@ai-aniverse you re not getting as bad as me bcs 400 views per video is a lot less than before but still a lot better than me, went from avarge 2k views per video to 3 views max but good luck and hope we will figure it out.
@@PokeproPlays Not that its a race to the bottom, but i had more than a few that were doing 100k plus and counting then suddenly no views while the niche continues on, sometimes with the same video topic!
These are all great advices! Though I have yet to find some specifics on music content - it seems average view and click through are a bit different when it comes to music

Sometimes I am watching a good video and change it to a different one for reasons that doesn't mean the video was bad. Taking these into consideration with the analytics, I don't stress it as much.
Wish everyone a success on their channels! Thanks for the useful information
Wow! You guys really give us incredible value. Thank you!
Thank you for watching our videos! 😉
Yes!! 🎉🎉 Very inspiring & informative! This is a marathon, not a sprint 🎉🎉 Thanks for sharing! ❤
Thanks I'll keep trying
Got my notifications on you guys help a lot‼️🚀
This video is from another world ,
Ur explanation is top notch. I eish i learned this before vid iq.
❤❤ thank you.
Hard work pays off, so don't give up📷🎥
Nope, consistent work being done above average is what pays off! You can work hard and still not get anywhere in life, just go ask the middle class about this.
Here is a question for VidIQ to look into. How long after you upload a long form video should you post a Short that directs people to the long? Should you wait and give the video a chance to breath, or should you post them back-to-back?
good question, would also be interested to know this
why would you do that in the first place?
I can see how much you guys Spend time to creat every single video hats off ❤
Been doing this 3 years only 2 of my vids have had high views one of my shorts had 8.4k views in 2 days but I’m keep on going, grinding
As a beginner, this video is very helpful, and I am still learning what's the right content .. but hopefully, my channel will grow one day..😊
This is simply amazing... Thank you so much
TAM looks like a new term to discover. Thanks.
I really learn a lot from these type videos THANKS man..
Stay tuned for more!
I swear VidIQ needs to make a video about Indian Fact Channels that are getting like half a million subscribers a day!
Kudos!
Goo delivery!
Well appreciated ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉!
Thanks for the tips! I'd still say persistence is the key. Good luck to everyone!
Trying to grow my channel, but it's such a bloody slow process! UA-cam really hurt the creators when it decided to put a minimum of subscribers (many years ago now) to monetize. I used to be able to monetize with only 70 subscribers! Those were the days. Never made any real money back then, but once the rules changes I just gave up on youtube.
that being said.. thank you for this... i will certainly make sure to learn more to be a better content creator
This is great information to help
Huddersfield town - just down the road great to hear fab tips from a local guy ty x
Love this! Great learning here😊
Thanks for this Video ! Valuable Content 🙂
We got you!
By the way cool glasses!
The same applies with tags
Thanks vidIQ for another excellent video ❤
you solved most of my problems, THANK U
People also need to understand sometimes a channel just won’t perform no matter what you do. I had my views drop to 5% of what I was previously getting, and subscriber growth completely stopped. The channels that succeed are the ones who persist despite this. After all, an ice cream vendor may get a lot of business in the summer, but they’re not going to see the same success once winter hits.
Just keep on pushing on you u all we get there
2 weeks strong and growing fast 💪
I need a video on why UA-cam will serve the video to from 1k to 3k views. 30 second watch rate is 90+%, impression / click through is 15%, but then it just turns off. In the middle of the night.
As a software developer seeing everything I am looking at, it seems that the size of your channel, and the life of your channel may contribute as to how long or how far they leave it in suggestions.
I realize there's session time, comments, likes etc. But I am failing to understand why impressions suddenly stop. If there's a video like this, id love to see it.
Thanks.
Because it is true the algorithm will always be against small channels
Just pay one of these UA-cam helpers to audit your channel, they’ll personally check your page and tell you what is needed..thinking about doing this 🤔
its even more depressing when you get shadowbanned. And with the sssniperwolf situation, its hard to believe they dont do something to push the 'top' creators.
Do tou know how to avoid shadowban?
@@PokeproPlays nope. Currently experiencing it trying to escape
@@PokeproPlaysyour content is trash wtf I just looked at your channel come on now
Thanks for this video vidIQ🔥
We got you
Starting my channel on Saturday or Monday... Curious if this will help.
No way your a huddersfield town fan! Was not expecting that! Me too!
Thank you for the video❤..
Happy Holidays...
I've just passed my 700 subscriber mark! Thanks for the help!
Really got it are you legend ❤
Thanks for the video, it really helped me😊
These are all great advices! Though I have yet to find some specifics on music content - it seems average view and click through are a bit different when it comes to music
Thank you I’ve just started a few months ago I’m doing my best 😊
