Heaven Sent was a perfect example of what it takes to make The Doctor give up... over 4 billion years trapped in a torturous prison designed to break him and make him give in... it still wasn't enough. Can't stop the Oncoming Storm..

Really??? I think David was far darker then anyone really and mat was pretty scary when he was dark.
Capaldi was light compared to them. I do admit he has some serious potential but poor writing got in the way in my opinion.
Just like jodie they made him a standup comedy act nobody asked for.

When the doctor becomes dark everyone looks in terror because he has so much rage and in certain times does not know when to stop all anyone can do is just run.

Yes for the dark Doctor aesthetic, especially loving Jodie and Ruth!Doctor's inclusion! All the quotes and clips were so perfectly chosen and intertwined with the most recent episode, plus the use of lesser used dark Doctor clips was a really nice touch.
The pause in the music followed by all the guns was great! Such a nice parallel. Hell the parallels after that bit were amazing too!

It's surprising bc her entire role had been mediocre and not really compilation worthy compared to basically any other doctor

Christopher Eccleston was brilliant in the potral of the Doctor.. he is the one who started the new era of Doctor who.
I always love seeing the dark side of the doctor and you've captured it masterfully (see what I did there lol)
The violent brutality that the Doctor is so capable of and yet so hidden away is enthralling to watch, and terrifying
The master is basically just the dark side of the doctor in my opinion and I did see what you did there

This is one of the things I think we're going to see again in 13. The Valeyard, The Oncoming Storm.. she's trying so hard to be different, to be better, but she's going back to her origins: Trauma, grief, guilt, and rage.
Kayla Grace do you think Ruth is the Valeyard? Like she’s still the Doctor and does good things but isn’t as focused on the no cool rule.
Krista Sykora That’s an interesting theory, but I think she’s more likely to be an incarnation from Classic Who as opposed to New Who. There’s no way she’s post Gallifrey after what she did in 12x05.
Kayla Grace Yeah I feel that’s more likely because of the atheistic. I kinda hope she’s not an old doctor just because I don’t want them to mess with the old stuff. I was also thinking she could be a alternate 9th/War Doctor in a world where Gallifrey is completely fine (no time war or master plot) which could explain how the master is back post missy and those alternate universe things from spyfall which were never really explained.
@@LookinLikeMagic I wouldn't mind if they put her between 2 and 3, but otherwise yeah, the classics should be left alone.

This gave me chills. I’m so glad that, one episode in, Jo Martin’s Doctor is being given recognition through videos like this (I absolutely love her performance and characterisation). The dark side to The Doctor is the aspect I find most intriguing so, to watch videos like this, it’s great to see talented editors such as yourself bring it to the surface. Thank you for this video and I look forward to the future.
I wonder whether they have taken inspirations from the Valeyard from the classic series. It was seen as one POSSIBLE incarnation. Many believe that somehow time is being disrupted or that the walls of realities break down. Maybe the O-Master is from another parallel reality as well.
To be honest, I did think of the Valeyard and theres still room for this Doctor to have the Valeyard in her timeline.
But what I thought about was the Doctor who just had her companion taken from her. Most of the Doctors have slipped into something like this in similar times.
You know, I had a hard time after Jodie took on the role of the doctor and I've pretty much not watched any of her episodes yet except the first because I felt like it wasn't the same

You can't really judge a new Doctor by their first episode. They're always going through a weird time of figuring themselves out after they regenerate. Heck, David Tennant spent 75% of his first episode sleeping!
You are by far the best compilation artist when it comes to Doctor Who videos. Fantastic effort!
I'm so sad that I had both Jo Martin's Doctor and the return of Captain Jack spoiled for me before watching this episode barely two days after it had come out! And yet, I am still left just as intrigued and could appreciate their presence regardless. I am left deliciously curious about how Martin's Doctor fits in with the timeline and just where this narrative is going to take us! And this tribute here makes everything feel so interconnected with the Doctor's darker side, which is amplified in her and you can see just how it disgusts 13 because of how it is literally against her very identity when she first Regenerated!

Ah, taking me down memory lane. Its great to see all the doctors Ive watched. (Except the most recent one.) Especially great to see David.
I love the inclusion of 13 and Ruth in this one. So far that's the strongest episode if this regen. I will never love any Doctor more than I love 11 (that man could give a damn good speech) but that was a strong episode with the two doctors playing off one another. Great job per usual!
First of all, this was so wonderfully created- the atmosphere you fostered, the lines and scenes you chose, it’s just, yes.
Second, doesn’t it say a lot
that Eleven featured a lot in this video, but didn’t have many lines? I think it just speaks to everything, the quiet edge and fury and age, Matt brought to the Doctor. You could feel the anger even and pain even when he didn’t speak (yes, I’m a lil’ obsessed with Eleven, but I truly love all incarnations!)
It so weird, I was thinking about that scene ("Only a killer would know that") today. The universe works in mysteries ways, doesn't it?

Also what is your opinion on Ruth being a past doctor? I quite like the theories that she's from an alternate timeline or she's a doctor between 2 and 3.
Between 2 and 3 would be cool, and I'd like particularly if it allowed writers to explore more Gallifrey-oriented stories while keeping the current Doctor in the timeline where it's destroyed.
It wouldn’t exactly make sense for her to be before 1 because of the whole Tardis-stealing thing. The first time the Tardis gets stuck as a police box is in an unearthly child (I believe, from my limited knowledge lol). So she has to be somewhere after 1
I am so looking forward to this. The timeless child, a previously unknown Doctor. And I have a feeling it's as though a whole time line has been rewritten and we're just beginning to see what it was now.

Brilliant video! I think it's really amazing that we get to see a different side to 13 now. She tried to be fun and kind all the time, not letting anyone in but it's getting harder and harder. And we'll see how the Ruth thing plays out. I don't think she's the Doctor in the way we know them. At least not our Doctor. Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for continuity but she wouldn't fit anywhere into the Doctor's timeline, except for maybe in between 2 and 3 but season 6b is so deep into the lore that I can't possibly imagine them exploring that. She can't be pre Hartnell unless we just completely rewrite canon and she can't really be a future incarnation if she doesn't know about all those things
I just feel like to get money bbc is gonna pull a disney. Where they take out known canon to push what they want.

I think she's probably pre Hartnell because of what the remnants said about seeing "further back" and things that the Doctor hides even from him/herself.
