    I love these unboxing videos. Compared to 8 or ten years ago there's so much content about gems and rock crystal etc fossils. Ask a rockhound it's pretty cool. I remember ten years ago of course I still was into to rocks then have been my entire life. Needless to say if I was lucky enough to see anything about menirals on TV. I would try find them on UA-cam because there just simply was not any content about them on here.

    I hate the fact that gemstones are treated or irradiated to make it a different color. I own a very small piece of Tanzanite and now after seeing it untreated in its' natural state I'm sad mine was altered. I would prefer the stone in its' natural state. That chrome tourmaline is to die for! That beautiful teal greenish blue color of the gem and the fact you both are matching with your outfits really made the gem stand out. Thanks again Natalie and Jaimeen for bringing us these beautiful gems

    • @terricampbell3179
      @terricampbell3179 4 роки тому +1

      Honestly it is better and probably cheaper to buy rough and have it cut (or cut/cab it yourself), and make your own jewelry (or have it made) than to buy retail. Also, it gives it more meaning and is more fun. I found some pretty nice grey/blue bicolor moonstone and other colors like peach in my neighborhood in the garden rocks, some of it very high quality, and I plan on melting my broken gold rings to put them in once I cabochon them. I can already tell both of the best ones I found will give a nice cats eye effect, and I also have 2 small clear and flawless ones I plan on giving a simple cut, unless I find out the color tints will look better when cabochoned.

    • @terricampbell3179
      @terricampbell3179 4 роки тому +1

      I'm actually not quite certain the 2 small clear ones are moonstone, but they are slightly translucent, and white like quartz is, but one has a blue glow through it and the other a peach color (not labradorescence or adularescence, literally just tinted all the way through the stones.)

    Does the "Great Rift" contribute to the variety found there? What's different about gems/minerals found within the fault area vs. what is found in the outlying area?
    Funny how I & am sure others too, have been "programmed" by the original proveyors & marketers to recognize & associate Tanzanite by the color of the heat-treated version only. The raw forms are very beautiful as well & a few faceted & sold as an alternate color choice.

    This is a pretty darn fantastic video! So much good information for me to build off of. What is going on with peacock tanzanite vs. Peacock blue tanzanite i clearly see a difference in them As they have been presented and I Love the peacock blue. Elegence through understated color , great "fire" (or other apropriate term for the light hitting the mirrors in the stone)and simplistic settings like a plain band with prong mounting and some simple basket set stuff ,like trillion studs. What is going on with the kijani ? Is it mearly that it holds its green( yellow) coloration when heated or is it a sign of things to come may be sooner than we think and marketting formerly ignored material is now prudent to keep prices down ? Btw I very well might know ways to heat part of a stone and not the entire stone, from what i was trained in. Im not saying it wont take some work to addapt it. But that WOULD mean exclusive stones nobody else can make.

    The green tumaline shiwn in vedio 4:05 seems not chromium ion color, it looks more like ferrous induced color. Because it (color) does not looks so saturated in green. Meanwhile, the ferrion induced green looks a bit dark in green color, just looks like those two gems shown in 4:05.

    Tourmalines DO NOT get Darker the Bigger they Get, ONLY Chromian Diopside Gemstones get deeper Forest Green to Black-ish color in Natural Light, and even when placed over an L.E.D. Light, MOST cannot be penetrated by High Power L.E.D. lights. Just like that large specimen in this Video. By the way, I have Fist Sized Chromian Diopsides from Metal Meteorites and we have studied this already.
