Would love to see the whole process of this. A video where you're taking it to either a jewelry company or a middleperson or whatever that tries to buy the raw minerals/gems from you. I think would be really cool to watch.

Check out black opal it's a stone worth anywhere from $3000-$35000 per carat depending on quality I know Dan gets opal but nothing like the value of black opal aka lightning ridge opal very beautiful too
I'm not even into stone collecting and mining but watching this was strangely satisfying Edit: ayy thanks for the likes! Glad many relate to my comment 😂
Dan, my mom and dad were “rock hounds” and I was fortunate enough to go on many trips throughout the southwest US. Watching your programs brings back so many wonderful memories. I know it takes a lot of your personal time to edit and put out your excellent videos, we the viewers want you to know how much we appreciate you and your family for all the hard work. Thank you for being you! God Bless and be well! Newt
Cute little ginger.. I hope he loves his red hair🥰. I just started seeing your videos and the one thing I noticed is how you love spending time with your family while doing what you love to do. Me and my father bonded over fishing. Since I was old enough to walk I had a pole in my hand and those are the best memories I have of him. Sadly he died in 1992 and I miss him dearly. I have treated my kids the same way and since they could walk they had a pole in their hands. You are giving them something to remember and something to share with their kids. 🥰
It makes me think that you can be literally walking past valuable minerals not knowing. I may have missed so much on my expeditions. Well done man. Well deserved.
Just love this Ocean picture stone...just looking at this calmed me down & put me at ease as if I were sitting there just taking in the views of the ocean. Just Beautiful!!!👍💗
Those stones are absolutely beautiful, the color is reminiscent of Larimar. And the area you are in has me feeling all homesick. Some of the best times of my life occurred not far from there, in beautiful little Grand Forks BC. A far cry from where I have been residing for over 30 years in the bald flat prairie of SK. Guess that is what happens when you marry a SK man. I still long to return to my mountains. You have a lovely family as well, thanks for sharing your passion with the world! Peace ✌️ out!!!
I love the beauty in nature, and I love seeing your children out in the mountains with you… learning specimens of rocks and minerals! Most children are glued to an iPad and we need more parents like you who will teach their kid’s knowledge that gets handed down through the generations. Some things can’t be taught in a classroom… 💯🙌
Man this is an absolute dream job I've been enamored with rock hunting since I was a tiny tiny little guy I used to love going to the creed CO rock and mineral show I just wish I were able to turn this into a career
You're my favorite prospector on youtube. I love the humble attitude and shared knowledge. I still can't find anything, but probably due to lack of trying more than anything else. I'm in the gold hills of california so I know there's gold...I go out, bring my stuff, and usually just end up swimming or panning sand. I think I need to invest in some more re-purposed hand tools for crevassing underwater. I have a wetsuit but need a mask and snorkel. Im a farmer so i know i can move yards of earth no problem. Please let me know if you're ever in nevada county!
Really enjoy tagging along on your adventures. Keep doing what you're doing Dan! Nice to see genuinely decent folks like yourself out there with great quality and content.
i agree 100% with Wickedjack.. everyone! (even myself) missed the most important thing worth more that any gold, diamonds, or nice looking rocks. doing stuff you love and your family love it just as much as you. Im very glad i saw your comment Birch, : ) because your what you saw in the video has humbled me!!!
what an amazing and fascinating life , wholesome that your family is out with you also. Its great to see people who live their passion everyday and can support their families off the back of it.
@@jesusmedina4494 For real though, garage sales are some of the best places to find high quality mineral specimens because people don't know their real value and just have them sitting on a shelf for years.
My son gave me a piece of this stone several years ago. I have always loved it. I thrilled me to see where it comes from. I do wire work and want to make it into a pendant. I wish I had 2 couple of small pieces to make earrings. It is so beautiful. How fortunate you are to have found it and be able to sell it. Best of luck.
Dan, you are living my dream. Out there with your family, enjoying life, playing in the dirt collecting rocks.. keep having a good time with your family!
It's actually kinda fkd up if you think about it. If more people did this, we'd deplete nature of its beauty, all for more money and materialistic bullshit we don't need.
Dude, I find it amazing how you work and your family is involved in the business! I've only recently found your UA-cam channel and have been binge watching and learning a lot about gemstones. Thank you!
You have to pay for your claim, so it’s not all pure profit. The time he spends (not a lot) And the market could lose a majority of its buyers any month for a while. Nothing is free
@@samreagan6292 If it paid a lot people wouldn,t be watching the video ' they would be in the field doing the same thing too . Those guys make it look like it pays a lot so they can attract views which is not really something bad but they also make it look like its a millionnaire hobby which it totally not the case so they can sell their channels items better Any idiot can register a claim on a part of land for prospection anywhere Butthe thing is that all the paying ones are already taken by giants of mining and prospecting . those that are left are worthless even for the common of mortals like you and me
Wow! I am so excited to see this material again! I remember seeing some slabbed pieces at a rock show on the California Central Coast which were the most amazing Ocean/Beach/Outcropping SCENES I'd ever seen. I was fascinated by them. Yes, they were very expensive but they were so so so beautiful. I went looking online to learn more about this amazing material (I really love all of the Picture types of rocks). All I could find out was that some of it came from British Columbia somewhere but was not really very plentiful or available. And here you are, and here it is! This is so cool! Thank you. It's kind of too bad that you don't do any of the final processing of this material, so you don't have those special slabs to show us. I'll keep looking for them, though. Thank you! You "earned" my subscription with this one! Thanks.
Would love to see what some of those Mexican Carvers at the Tucson Gem Show could do with one of those large specimens. I can just picture a carved female form lying on her side in those fabulous blues. Or even an abstract complex form out of that stone. Could be the star item at a future gem show.
That's absolutely AMAZING, Those stones are beautiful. But the most wonderful thing is YOUR FAMILY going with being interested and their precipitation in your dream. I love it
This was so fun to watch. You have such a great family. I can't tell it means a lot for them to come along. God bless you I am so happy you will get a good pay out.

But we are going to see about collecting to sell some specimens to help fund our new addiction! Thanks for such cool, fun, contagious videos! We feel like we are right there with you and learn so much! You guys are awesome!
I was today years old when I learned about the existence of this type of stone
Oh you’re not a stoner? Dang...

Yep i wasn't even look for this but the fact a stone is worth 2k is crazy
Love this comment .. this guys nutz lmao but still gettin it
Check out black opal it's a stone worth anywhere from $3000-$35000 per carat depending on quality I know Dan gets opal but nothing like the value of black opal aka lightning ridge opal very beautiful too
Two paydays: family adventures and the stones. Killer!
Don't forget the workout hauling the suff out
I'm not even into stone collecting and mining but watching this was strangely satisfying
Edit: ayy thanks for the likes! Glad many relate to my comment 😂

Ótimo dia linda maravilhosa tudo me
Yeah buddy
Dan, my mom and dad were “rock hounds” and I was fortunate enough to go on many trips throughout the southwest US.
Watching your programs brings back so many wonderful memories.
I know it takes a lot of your personal time to edit and put out your excellent videos, we the viewers want you to know how much we appreciate you and your family for all the hard work.
Thank you for being you!
God Bless and be well!

Just mesmerizing watching you harvest God’s treasures. Everyone should be able to see what you do. Thank you!
Beautiful specimens, and I love the bond you have with your family. It’s good to know theirs still good parents out there in this chaotic world.
Where is that location.

Me: works 40 hours a week
This guy: literally pulls my rent money out of the ground
rent money? that about a year and a half worth of pay for me.
You live on a $40K per month rental property? Must be buckingham palace, how's the queen
And if you believe that junk he is finding is worth 40k, then i have some land to sell you... special price for you my friend 😂
His estimates are so untrue folks. Absolutely bullshit.
@@kasaloub.bennett9878 but as of recently he's sold around 50,000$ of it... just so you know
I love the beauty in nature, and I love seeing your children out in the mountains with you… learning specimens of rocks and minerals! Most children are glued to an iPad and we need more parents like you who will teach their kid’s knowledge that gets handed down through the generations. Some things can’t be taught in a classroom… 💯🙌
This is a stunning stone and I can't thank you enough for educating all of us.
Its not the material or the money made off a claim. The real gold is being with family in nature. Great stuff!!
You sir are a wise man :)
i agree 100% with Wickedjack.. everyone! (even myself) missed the most important thing worth more that any gold, diamonds, or nice looking rocks. doing stuff you love and your family love it just as much as you. Im very glad i saw your comment Birch, : ) because your what you saw in the video has humbled me!!!
Ehhhhh I don’t know.... the gems and money are nice...
"You having fun?" That cracks me up every time with that look.
" my family loves coming down here" yeah, I don't believe that at all. that kid looks like his dad is making him "like it"
Today I learned that there was such a thing as ocean picture Stone. How beautiful. Nature is amazing and you have a beautiful stake on that Hillside.
what an amazing and fascinating life , wholesome that your family is out with you also. Its great to see people who live their passion everyday and can support their families off the back of it.
Son looks like he smoked a big nug before getting some blue gem rocks
Nothing wrong with that
smoked the whole weed field
How else would you start the adventure?
I would have lol
Son?
His Wife 6 years later: "Can we finally get those rocks out of the garage?!?"
They're MINERALS Marie !!!
Lol, sells them on a garage sale for chump change 🤣
@@jesusmedina4494 For real though, garage sales are some of the best places to find high quality mineral specimens because people don't know their real value and just have them sitting on a shelf for years.
@@JoviaI1 I believe you. 👍🏽
@@mcmdrpiffle447 beat me to it lmao!
Have never seen this kind of rock but it's the prettiest thing I have ever seen, hello from Nova Scotia Canada
That is beautiful piece of stone the beautiful blues and the grays and the white. You two did a absolutely great job.
Id love to see a table or counter top of this stone.
Same here!
If you want to pay for it I can build it..
I was thinking the same thing as i was watching! Could you imagine?
It's so great to watch you spending quality time with your family while making a living!
Dan, you are living my dream. Out there with your family, enjoying life, playing in the dirt collecting rocks.. keep having a good time with your family!
You should get the kids a rock tumbler and see how the smaller rocks tumble. They could sell them for pocket money.
That's a brilliant idea!!
I’d like to try a piece of this in my rock tumbler.
Oh my- these pieces are perfect. Nature is glorious!! I love what you do:))
Thank you so much!
Dan, I don't watch a lot of you tube but I find myself living vicariously through yours. These are amazing. I look forward to your next adventure.
I'm very glad to see a man succeeding in pulling his living straight from the Earth! It has been my dream.
It's not his living. He is a full time teacher. That is just an interest.
It's actually kinda fkd up if you think about it. If more people did this, we'd deplete nature of its beauty, all for more money and materialistic bullshit we don't need.
When I was a kid I really enjoyed mineral fairs and collecting all sorts of rocks. Would've loved going out on trips like that.
Dude, I find it amazing how you work and your family is involved in the business! I've only recently found your UA-cam channel and have been binge watching and learning a lot about gemstones. Thank you!
liked, commented, subscribed, and prayed for the awesome stone that I had never heard about before. Thanks! Looks like Larimar. wow!!
Never seen this kind of stone before but I definitely see why people like it so much! Such a cool stone, thanks for sharing.
My brother does Lapidary from his wheelchair, and I collect minerals. so hello from Michigan and Ohio.
I've never heard of that type of stone before, but now I want some.
Love your videos, always put me in a good mood!
I love it when he asks his kids if they're having fun and they're like, sure, dad whatever you say 🤣😂
hes literally pulling money out of the ground
Out the mud facts just like Rick Ross found that shit on his land🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
yeah but it comes from his video nut the stuff that he's digging
@@guytremblay1647 no he sells that as well... For about two thousand
Those guys make it look like it pays a lot so they can attract views which is not really something bad but they also make it look like its a millionnaire hobby which it totally not the case so they can sell their channels items better
Any idiot can register a claim on a part of land for prospection anywhere Butthe thing is that all the paying ones are already taken by giants of mining and prospecting . those that are left are worthless even for the common of mortals like you and me
It's just amazing you can get your whole family involved ... Evan is a hoot!
Wow! Those stone are amazing!!
This guy is great! Fun, funny and seems genuine.
Thanks.
I love that your family are with you in nature. I am new to your channel but so many amazing things you find.
Hi 👋 Karen, how are you doing?
Looks like my kind of fun. I find anything digging or uncovering so interesting. And I love the manual labor part of it. Awesome stuff! 👍
5:14 I hear that from my husband a lot too.
Oh no 😂😂😂
Would like to see examples of the finished product.
John go to my channel i did a video on polishing the picture stone.
Daniel Miller what’s the actual name of your channel? I searched Daniel Miller and got serval results.
Would love to see what some of those Mexican Carvers at the Tucson Gem Show could do with one of those large specimens. I can just picture a carved female form lying on her side in those fabulous blues. Or even an abstract complex form out of that stone. Could be the star item at a future gem show.

This was so fun to watch. You have such a great family. I can't tell it means a lot for them to come along. God bless you I am so happy you will get a good pay out.
