    If I ever get to the point where I can afford to build a Stout engine, I'll definitely be taking to KTM. But first I'll slap my 6.0 together myself at some point and see how long it lasts!! 🇺🇸🦅💪

    I’d like to see a video showing the machining/manufacturing of equipment used in a machine shop. This vid is very impressive. It boggles my mind to think of the precision/ tolerances given all the moving parts in these machines. And then.....there are the machines that make the machines that make the machines. Love this stuff. Those who look down their noses at “blue collar” workers and consider these workers as “knuckledraggers” need to see these people and the skills they have. It’s so impressive. im going to school for cnc machining soon, their multiple axis machines that run on computer generated code that operate a machine through a software with specific material removing applications and different bits and Thered a term for them. their expensive, one bit end can be like $1000 or more. the machine their using, easily 100k. it can hold an engine. this is top of the line stuff. depening on the experience of the machinist.

    Holy crap. This guy has obviously never been exposed to any engine building. These are steps that every decent engine builder takes, and TKM is CERTAINLY not the only one o ringing heads and blocks, weve been doing it to LS engines for 20 years and other stuff for many more than that, its run of the mill power adder stuff....
    That said Id guess hed be mind blown that weve run 40# of boost on stock head gaskets - boost is a meaningless number people. How much power your making and your tune up determines when the head lifts (peak cylinder pressures)

    • @turbochevelle5641
      @turbochevelle5641 5 років тому +2

      Um....... So boost has nothing to do with cylinder pressure? Boost is a very big factor in cylinder pressure. Cylinder pressure can be manipulated via cam grind to relieve or add pressure but to say boost is a meaningless number is false. The power you're making is a direct manifestation of the boost level you're running combined with you tune in layman's terms. Not trying to argue but you either made a mistake or you really don't know what you are talking about.

    • @jefflowry4112
      @jefflowry4112 5 років тому +2

      @@turbochevelle5641 no not really but you touched on correct thing. Boost is just a measure of restriction in intake manifold on that particular setup
      One guy with a 6000 rpm engine that has bad ass heads etc. on 427 inch engine operating near peak torque on 23psi could be making alot more cylinder pressure than a stock 4.8 at 8300 rpm and 44psi even though they may be making the same hp.
      It is cylinder pressure (torque) that matters like you said, tune up, etc.

    • @turbochevelle5641
      @turbochevelle5641 5 років тому +2

      @@jefflowry4112 well not quite but OK. It is an issue of efficiency of the combination in your explanation. Of course the 427 with worked heads and a turbo properly sized will make more power than the smaller displacement at a lower boost level. Because of the difference in discplaceme the smaller engine will have to run more boost at a higher rpm to make the same power. In the end it is just a math calculation and knowing how to properly set up all the parts to be as efficient as possible.

      @yoancarlove7383 5 років тому

      @@turbochevelle5641 Boost is only relevant when you know intake air temp. The (tune) you are refering to aside from ignition timing is exactly that: Air density and engine RPM (speed density).

    On small block Chevy’s we used a solid copper head gasket and “O” ringed the block for piece of copper wire that you would cut to a tight beveled fit. The copper would be “proud” about .015” so it would bite into the head gasket and help protrude into a small receiving groove in the head. We would give a spray coat of copper coat gasket seal to both sides of the head gasket. I ran up to 26 pounds of boost. Things would let go but I never had a head gasket leak. You guys are spoiled with what you can get now.

    Nothing special for every race motor we build here in Florida. We regularly produce 1800 to 2400 power from 4.8/5.3 used LS blocks and have run 24 pounds of boost on an untouched 5.3 with 144,000 miles and we ran that for just over 18 months in a R/D program achieving mid fives at Bradenton Motorsports park early last year. Thi9s is nothing more than an infomercial for their shop. The best commercial is for the motor that just put you in the weeds!

For a few reasons 1 actually finding a reputable machine shop is kinda hard. 2 once you find said machine shop they are booked out weeks and in some cases months. 3 most of these places charge a arm and a leg to actually do the work. My LC9 only has 137k on the timer no issues so hopefully everything works out.

So just on the block your at $2,360.00. For the crank check cracks $30, polish 75, debuting for better oil flow $40, balancing $400 that’s another $545. For heads surface and deck $125 , cut the seats, check valves , check guides and springs $250, pressure check $50, instal guides on a 2 valve $400. That’s another $825 so a full full build in machine work itself not including the crank, bearings, rods, wrist pins, pistons, rings, cam, lifted, pushrods, rockers, springs, valves, ect, your at $3740.00.

      It is a motor. It was produced by GM MOTOR Company. The hint is literally in the name. A motor is, by literal definition an internal combustion engine. Engine is a generalized name for any power unit that develops energy. The word motor was created for things that move something.

    Hi guys. I have been watching you videos and appreciate your knowledge a lot. Can you PLEASE give me same giudence. I am living in South Africa, the guys here do not come even close to the experience and knowledge you guys have. I have a LS2 L98 aluminum block with a 4" K1 rotating assembly kit with Wisoco K448x3 +5cc pistons.(Bore size 4.030) I keep having blow by, pass my rings (Did a leak down test) my pistons pull out of my standard sleeves at bottom by nearly 13mm (0.511 in). Is it possible to in stall the Dart Block Sleeves 32110131 in my block.
    Sleeve lenth 6.100"
    Bore size 3.990
    Wall Thickness, 0.185 in.
    If not possible please advise. I dont know what to do.
    Thanks, I will really appreciate your advice.
    Regards.
    Rassie.
