  • This is a review of my 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 650r. I've spent about 1500 miles on this bike so far. This review covers the performance of the bike in the various categories and gives my thoughts on why I purchased this particular motorcycle.

    0-60 in 3.5 to 4 seconds. 1/4 mile in about 12.5 seconds. The 650 is only "slow" compared to exotic cars or 600cc/1000cc bikes. Compared to 95% of the vehicles on the road it's fast.

    I’ve been riding for 10+ years and picked up a 2017 ninja 650 a few months ago. One of the best full fairing sport bikes for the street, the 42lbs it lost from the previous generation makes all the difference

    I have a 2009 650r that I bought brand new. Love the bike, hate the vibration. I wish was 3 cylinder they have a lot less vibration. But overall it does an amazing job, I've done long trip and does good. Easy to maneuver, just hard on the engine vibration.

    I know I probably won’t get a reply in time, but a friend of my mom’s is selling a 2010 for about $3500 with around 7k miles (I think) and in excellent condition. Would that be a good/okay price for it? (Granted she loves the bike still and her partner is trying to get her to sell it because they’re starting a family)
    I’ll be taking a look at it next weekend (there is a chance I might not buy it right away, just to see if there’s better options, like the Ninja 400 for example).
    I’m also a beginner and am curious if this is a good beginner bike. My only concern though is the weight (which I don’t know). I’m currently 5’1 and don’t have much upper body strength (however I am willing to change that if I love the bike enough). For reference though, the friend is also short at about 5’3 and has already lowered it.

    Hey Guys does the ninja 2009 and Ninja 2011 have the same engine and cyclinder heads?

    72 brake, 66 NM - 0-60 in 3.5 - 120 top
    There's nothing slow about the 650, unless you're used to supersports, but then again touring on a supersport is masochist territory

    Idk why but I feel uncomfortable on the 650 seat. It’s hard to find the right seating position. My 250 had a large tank that was easy to grip with my knees. There’s nothing to grab on the 650 so I find myself getting thrown around when engine braking.

    Very good review, I do like the bike and the change, I kinda would of liked more like dirt bike handlebars,but it looks like the handlebars are a lot better than the sport bikes 👍

      I'm still thinking on it so ill look into that. Currently my top consideration is a truck camper rv that sits in the bed, then I could pull a mobile garage (enclosed trailer) for all my bikes.

    Is $2600 for a 2011 650R with 2,000 miles good? I can’t tell if it’s too good to be true.

    I used to have an 09 and meh, I thought it was OK. I traded it in for a 2008 Honda CBR 600RR in 2012. But I don't have it anymore. And were you on marshall st/east river road by 694? Haha! YES! You were on Marshall lol. I thought I recognized the area. I saw betty dangers lol. You weren't too far from me. I live less than 8 miles from there. We should definitely go riding sometime man!

    • @twincitiesrider8103
      @twincitiesrider8103  3 роки тому +2

      Not at all you dont hafta even check valves till 24000 miles, typical bike is around 10000. Might need wearables but the guts are super solid on these bikes.

      The year would be the factor, a 2009-2015 a good peice would be about 2800-3000. If its a newer gen which i think it 2016 and up 3800 could be appropriate.
