    im about to buy a 650 and i never ridden before. i cant take msf, work is to crazy, already had to miss my class because i got called in saturday. its hard enough to get to the dealerships before they close. and the summer is half way over and im on a waiting list. the dealership is right at a crazy intersection. but its a strait line all the way with the exception of turning at one light. time to nut up or shut up, we doin it boys.

    Thanks so much great vid. Still trying to find a bike to learn on. I have never had my own and I crashed once and ended up in a hospital for 2 weeks cause someone ran a light and I ran in the side walk and crashed and hit my stomach on the handle bars and burst my liver. It was leaking bile into my stomach and almost poisoned me to death. My wife thinks I'm crazy to get back on. But I know I'm meant to be on two wheels. I'm not a dangerous driver and want to learn to be safe. Thanks for the vid you explain things really good. Some people are very confusing to knew riders or people learning like me. Peace

    Everyone should take the MSF class before riding a Motorcycle on the streets but these YT videos are the next best thing ;)

      Thanks jonny moto! Yes sure, i appreciate constructive criticism, while i agree i am a beginner... this is how i learned, just getting on and feeling out the controls. I think that finding your friction zone is the hardest part of riding a bike and spent a lot of time hammering this point home. It is hard to fit everything that needs to be said in such a short time. I would love to make an additional video sometime expanding upon some of your ideas.

      The title of his video is "learn how to ride a motorcycle". I would say anyone who didn't know how to ride before watching this would definitely know how to ride a motorcycle after watching it. Not saying they would be good at it but they would know HOW to ride one. Also everyone learns a different way. some people can learn on 600's and some people need to take their time on 250's before upgrading to a 600. I would say people should learn with an experienced rider with them and have them explain what to do. But if they want to look on YT for advice let them. This isn't a bad tutorial and you definitely should not be saying how bad it is. Yes it could be better but that goes for all videos. Also you're just a troll and probably don't even ride.

      This video does more harm than good, this guy is no way qualified to post this crap. You do not learn to ride from a video, I know many love videos but they are in no way helpful when learning, they can help show advanced riders new techniques, but basics must be tsaught one on one. I have ridden for decades, I learned from videos only after a track session for advanced riding. I learned some tricks, but basic skills are not learned on you tube, they actuall do not go into enough detail to explain anything for a new rider. This guy is an idiot, and he should delete thisbefore someone thinks he is snart and kills themselves following his hodge podge of BS.

    • @RT22-pb2pp
      @RT22-pb2pp 7 років тому +1

      he is not teaching anything, he is not qualified to teach bike riding on a video, no one is. Hands on training by a pro is the best and really only way to learn the right habits. Idiots like you may think he is helping, he is not. he is throwing out random crap that no one can follow. In no particular order. Sorry dude but this stuff is dangerous to new guys who do not know better. Any rider who hs spent as much time in the saddle as me came away confused and I have taken many courses taught buy pros. they are cringing right now.

      In minnesota you show up prior to the test and you take turns running the course in the parking lot. Essentially its a cone weave, u turn within a set amount of space. Then a acceleration up to 15mph and slam on the breaks for a panic stop. Must be done without putting your feet down while the vehicle is moving.

    So you can let off the clutch completely AND not be touching the gas in first gear and it will idle and won’t die? I’ve never let off both in first gear because I assumed the bike would stall. Is it because the RPMs were high enough? New rider here. Thanks!

    • @mntwofiveohh3787
      @mntwofiveohh3787  2 роки тому +1

      Yes the idle speed is high enough on most vehicles that if you are smooth and gentle with a clutch you can get it rolling without any additional throttle. Most times i roll on a bit of gas as i get going just to be quicker. Its a good practice technique though to figure out where your clutch grabs.

    HI, does the ninja 650 have a gear indicator?

  • @adamheath9675
    @adamheath9675 5 років тому +3

    Hi, learning to ride slowly after work. Go to a 3 day BRC this weekend for endorsement. I recently purchased a 2016 ninja 650 and hope it does me well. Shifting is my biggest worry and concern. Have stalled the bike many time on start up but I’m getting better. One question I do have is when operating on roadways and let’s say your shifting up from 4th to 5th, if I don’t give it throttle letting off the clutch, and instead waiting until the clutch is fully released to give it throttle, will it stall then?

    • @mntwofiveohh3787
      @mntwofiveohh3787  5 років тому +3

      If you are going at normal road speeds.. say 50 mph and you make this change without throttle input it would not stall out. Now if you try to start in 4th or 5th you will most definitely kill it.
      The big thing when learning is clutch control. Like i mentioned in my video find that point where the clutch grabs and you can get the bike rolling without any throttle input.. really takes a smooth hand but im sure you will get it with practice.
      I loved my 15 ninja 650. Its a great all around bike. I upgraded last year to a 13 z1000, and also acquired a kawi vulcan 900.... video on that is being uploaded as we speak.
      I wish you the best of luck with your endorsement class, and all the practice. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

      I think the ninja 650 would be a great choice. Its is easy to maneuver, slightly larger than the 250s and 300s. Very up right. Over all a great bike. When you are ready to upgrade many of the bikes in kawasakis z lineup are also great. Id recommend the z800,z900, or the bike i now have the z1000 as great options

    To learn correctly you need to learn from a pro. Someone who knows how to ride. First rule, do not learn anything from videos from people who we do not know. I have no clue what skill level you have so that is mistake one. Take a riding safety course and then go to a track and learn where it is safe. Then wear all protective gear, leaving off jacket screams DO NOT LISTEN TO ME
    I have no clue how to ride correctly. Jeez man you are not helping anyone, you may be putting them oin danger. Leave training to the professionals please before you kill someone. keep the jacket onand keep hands on the bars, before you get someone hurt. Do you think you are qualified to post this shit? And yes this entre video is shit and a waste of time for all of us.

      Joe Veitch lmao he’s just trying to be helpful you don’t gotta be mean about it. Pointing out mistakes is fine, that’s called constructive criticism. But when you start calling his videos shit, you should just leave. He explained why he wasn’t wearing the jacket. Also you just wasted a ton of time on writing that comment that you could’ve watched a “professional” teaching video. It seems like he is just making a quick video for the basics of riding and if people want more in depth than they can watch more videos on how to ride. Give him a break dude, you’ve made plenty of mistakes in your life and if someone has called you shit for it I’m sure it hurt your sensitive little feelings.

      Unqualified people posting videos as if they know what they are doing is SHIT pure and simple, leaving teaching to those who KNOW period end of story. You want to take advice from a unqualified person feel free, it is your life you risk. But to pass bad info to unknowing rookies is dangerous and sorry spirited that is dangerous and is shit. If you do not like my view fine, I do not like bad info being passed on as professional advice. AGAIN it is SHIT it is bad and it stinks.You idiots think a little video with maybe 10% of info needed is fine it is not, new riders need professional training with 100% of info to be safe.

The biggest struggle for somebody new is just getting the bike rolling and understanding the steering dynamics of the bike. This summer i plan on expanding on the video and making adjustments.
