Hell yeah! Stevie had a divine gift that enabled him to reach virtually anybody, and touch their very soul on fire. This particular song, more than any of his other songs, really got me where I lived...in fact, I still get shivers up and down my spine from this song, all these long years later. There have been many greats, and there may be many more greats to come, provided we don't blow ourselves to kingdom come one of these days, but there will only ever be one Stevie Ray Vaughan. No-one else could ever touch him, although many have imitated him, myself included.😉
My people, don’t waste your time ranting on those “musicians” and popular songs that UA-cam continues to push. Let’s be greatful that we know what actual musical talent looks and sounds like.
Hendrix was the greatest innovator of electric guitar sounds, but pure playing talent- SRV stands alone on the mountain top. Old enough to have seen all the greats since Hendrix- Clapton, Van Halen,Beck Satriani,Page et.all. Listen closely and watch the ease with which SRV plays the most complex riffs. I've seen him live 4 times and the guy never looked down at his guitar once, allways new where he was without ever looking and never missed a lick. The Goat in my humble opinion. Miiss him so much...
Here's the song's meaning. It's about a previously turbulent relationship broken off for a long time. This, of course, so the guy could get it together. He does and comes back to her a changed man. He says "get away from the blind side of life" - don't be bitter & lonely. " Another day has passed, forget all those painful memories, our love's gonna last". "Let's glide our way home - let's go, let's go, I've come back for more". He realizes the good thing he has, & gonna keep it this time
Best guitarist ever, we got robbed when he had to leave us early. Such a huge part of my life and he passed before I was even born. My mom idolized him, played guitar and taught me in his honor and named me Stevie. Grew up watching these and playing his records. RIP SRV you'll never know how much you meant to folks that didnt even know you
I know everyone always comment on his extraordinary abilities on the guitar, but can we all just take listen to the vocals...wow! He could easily front any band with just his voice. Possibly one of the best ever on vocals.

I'm an old "Garage band" boy from the 60's. I didn't know anything about SRV as we only had local FM radio and he didn't get any airplay. He opened for his brother and when he came out on stage playing Scuttle Buttin' I could have died. That moment changed my life. I have always watched the fretting hand of my heroes to get an idea of how they can do their magic. Stevie's playing eludes me to this day. Now 2 reasons to get clean. Oh & he wasn't taken from us, we don't even belong to ourselves. He was called home. He & your beautiful sister had lived, experienced, learned to love & rely on self. Exactly what God wants-with him. She lives in your blood, he with his heartbeat. Where? MrBlues, just put in the CD.
In an interview that I did with Stevie Ray at CHEZ FM in Ottawa , he told me that for this song , he had 600 watts of amplifier power to work with > He said, it;s all Digital man, no distortion Wowee !!! Love this song and his playing!!!!
Only 400 000 views for one of the best musicians in guitar history? Considering Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" video got 340 million, this is clearly a reflection of how much society's idea of what constitutes "good" music has changed...Never fails to astound me. Long live SRV.
It's the ones in the (music) business and the media; the ones who are not genuinely musically inclined but only in it for the money and the scandal to spread, who control who gets the acclaim.
Who is this Matt Bellamy? Never heard of him. Ed Sheeran. Nope not him either. How about Coldplay? No. Ummm. Taylor Swift isn't really my bag, but some of her early country stuff is good...No. Ok. Umm. Katy Perry has some original stuff, even though her subject matter seems to be all comprised of old boyfriends...No? Ok. How about Jay-Z? Virtuoso lyricist. Double entendre and wordplay. No...Ok...
You see, I wanted to come here to listen to SRV, and rant about how brilliant he was in the comments, not take place in a nostalgia-thon, full of people who were so convinced that their music was the best music, just like the generation before them couldn't understand rock 'n roll, and the one before that didn't "get" jazz. Seriously. He was brilliant. Focus on that. Today's music is different. Not Worse. Just not what you're used to. And the music industry has alway been cutthroat, that isn't anything new.
Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band is PHENOMENAL...Tremendous rhythem and lyrics..gotta great beat and Stevie's strat just flows out that sound to the airwaves..RIP Stevie..listening in 2020

I love this song. Makes me proud to be from Dallas, Texas (like Stevie). Interesting note: when Stevie was still relatively unknown, he was playing in Paris, France. From what I've heard, most performing musicians don't hang out listening to other performers do their show. But Eric Clapton was fascinated by Stevie and stayed to watch the whole show.
I love the song more. He's not afraid to write about the imperfect human being. The years of mistakes, the downfall, subsequent aloneness and soul searching. Going back a changed man, remorseful, telling his true love, asking forgiveness, expressing confidence this time "our love gonna last". I'm in Dallas, I feel him at work-he's buried across the street. Comforting not creepy. Probably filmed W. Texas-great use of saloon blue light. In real life this would never happen to me. Miss him!
ONE SMOOTH MOTHER THAT COULD PLAY LIKE HELL :) SAW HIM LIVE IN THE 80's WITH THE FABULOUS THUNDER BIRDS IN AUCKLAND NEW ZEALAND NOT LONG BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY :( ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS EVER :) HE WAS ALSO MARRIED TO A NEW ZEALAND LADY :) R.I.P SRV
Ray Henning, the owner of the shop that Stevie pretty much just took the damn thing. He had a brand new strat that he was borrowing from the shop to play gigs and he brought it back and found Lenny. He played that guitar in the shop for about two hours and asked if he could take the guitar in on trade for the one he had just brought back lol. Ray simply stated " feel like downgrading huh?". To which Stevie replied " it just feels right Ray.... Just feels right. Ray thought he would bring the guitar back in about two weeks and Stevie never did.
I remember when this came out, and have always been haunted by the brief image of the Soldier on leave, having a drink alone, minding his own business, and enjoying the music.
282 negative huh, this probably my most favorite Stevie Ray song, it personally hits home for me, all the critics, do any of them play an axe like this
Stevie Ray Vaughan is a legend and will always be a legend in my book. Best blues/rock guitarist and best vocalist of the 80s in my opinion. R.I.P and may your music continue to play forever in your fans ears. I'm listening.
I remember reading USA Today the day after Stevie died. I believe the caption in the article read something like this: The rock/blues world mourns the loss of one of its finest." It was true then and it is still true today. RIP, Stevie!
This song was what got me listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan. I discovered SRV in the summer of 2002. I immediately looked up what SRV meant in this song and the message was heart moving. Battling inner demons, don’t we all have them too, in one way or another! This song spoke to me and therefore its forever my favorite!
Shivers, shivers right down the spine, baby! I remember when I saw this for the first time back in 1993. I must have worn the video tape out from watching it over and over. That groove, that tone, the sleazy, dirty grind and that solo just crying out "Albert King!". 21-years on, the song still hits me as hard as it did the first time! The sadness of his early departure continues to linger, but the music still echoes strongly. Thank you Stevie, wherever you are!
Stevie Ray Vaughan was the best guitarist you could ever hear or ever could ever see in play in concert I'm 31 years old born in 1987 I would love to see him in concert he is he's my inspiration to be a better musician and be a better guitarist me and my friend Keaton Cooley and me would listen to a lot of to his music and play his music Stevie Ray Vaughan will still keep on living in our hearts he went to the afterlife best will all get to meet him someday and having man God's Kingdom Amen to that one
I couldn’t look or hear Stevie after he died it hurt knowing this beautiful talented humble real man that was a gift to the world who touched my soul was gone rip beautiful Stevie you are loved and missed ❤
Jeff R ,,,absolutely! It's very rare when a musical genius has it all. A killer voice, brutal force with extreme delicacy and precision guitar playing, and pure liquid possitive energy. What a unique soul. This is the kind of artistic expression that is timeless. For all this young man had been through,,he always gave it his all,,,,, with class.
My yearly post to state this song is friggen incredible! If you all like guitar players and you don’t know who Trey Anastasio is you have NO CLUE what you’re missing.
He lived around the corner from me in Dallas @the time he made this.W@e would meet @ 12:00 every day with other folks and talk about our problems and how to fix them.He was so happy and humble about how things had worked out.Good guy
First time I heard srv I was like how have I never heard him before, 😂😅1year of guitar playing has pad of I know voodoo child and Mary had a little laim with no lessons crazy and I know how to play behind my back and on my head so crazy 😊 and I'm pretty good to.
It always tripped me out that during the first solo in the video, despite not being plugged in or anything, he makes volume/tone knob changes and even the pickup switch changes during the solo. Obviously he was a master of his craft, but its just crazy to think he's doing all that during playback.
First time I saw him play I was stunned, thought, "Who is this amazingly talented guy?" Those skills were/are supernatural. Even when I don't like a particular tune, his playing is flawless. Something so attractive and gentlemanly about him too, even when flipping off the camera, ha.
eric claptin said the night stevie last performed before the crash that he was sitting back stage and he was to play next. eric said that stevie opened with a note he had never heard before and after listening to him it was the first time that he was scared to go on stage. because what stevie had just done there was nothing he could do that would even come close. that only says one thing. stevie was THE BEST.
Maybe my favourite of Stevie's songs. So taut, contained, and powerful! I've loved this clip for years. I'm watching it again today, 32 years after Stevie died. Miss him. Rave on Stevie Ray Vaughan ✌️🙏

Hi Anne. You seem like a nice gal.
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN FOREVER
In an interview that I did with Stevie Ray at CHEZ FM in Ottawa , he told me that for this song , he had 600 watts of amplifier power to work with > He said, it;s all Digital man, no distortion Wowee !!! Love this song and his playing!!!!
You Interviewed Stevie?
Only 400 000 views for one of the best musicians in guitar history? Considering Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" video got 340 million, this is clearly a reflection of how much society's idea of what constitutes "good" music has changed...Never fails to astound me.
Long live SRV.
Christy Vanden if SRV were alive today he would be kicking ass! Miley who???
It's the ones in the (music) business and the media; the ones who are not genuinely musically inclined but only in it for the money and the scandal to spread, who control who gets the acclaim.
I wrote this three years ago...everything is still as it was....corrupt
Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band is PHENOMENAL...Tremendous rhythem and lyrics..gotta great beat and Stevie's strat just flows out that sound to the airwaves..RIP Stevie..listening in 2020
I have shuffled into 2020..R you with me? Stevie Ray Vaughan the blue's and rock n roll legend and Singer..That's a great thang..great band ..RIP Stevie ..
You can't change it....
Can't re-arrange it
If time is all that we got....
Then baby let's take it
Lovin' is a lovin'....
The moment is a-right
It's worth all the years in the past....
Let's go one more night
Get away from the blind side of life
Honey I want you to be by my side
Me and my back door moves ain't no more....
No more
Get away from the blind side of life
Honey I want you to be by my side
Me and my back door moves ain't no more....
No more
Get away from the blind side of life
Honey I want you to be by my side
Me and my back door moves ain't no more....
No more
Goodnight my darlin'....
Another day has passed
Forget all those painful memories....
Our love's gonna last
Come to me baby....
Come to me one more time
It's time we got movin'....
Time to move on
Let's slide out the door....
Let's slide out the door
Ride our way home....
Let's glide our way home
Let's go....
Let's go....
Let's go....
Let's go
Let's go....
Let's go....
I've come back for more
I saw him play this on SNL back in the eighties. F-ing unbelievable.
My guy!!!! 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Montreaux Jazz Festival actually... that was where David Bowie first heard him and invited him to be on Let's Dance...
This is my favorite song, RIP srv.
Met this icon in Toronto shortly before he died.Great, funny as hell, a real scrapper.
1:50 the man was so bad ass he could change the knobs without the guitar even being plugged. RIP
He tried to reach his whammy bar 😉
@@danhuot12 I know. Have some sense of humor man 😂
Seen him rock Festival Hall in Brisbane, Australia in the early 80's. I consider myself blessed to have witnessed a legend. Thank you Stevie Ray
He is the greatest of all times and this song is just too much to take.
Have to agree - if I had 2 seconds to save my Cd's in a fire SRV would be first out.
the greatest compliment to a performer is your completion has your cd's in their glove compartment,STEVIE his work was extraordinary,a genius
"You may not like him, Minister, but you can't deny: Stevie's got style."
This was my first exposure to SRV.... Blew me away!
R.I.P. Guitar God and artist Extraordinaire
That's Awesome , Where were you sitting? My dad saw him 1 year out of High school! It was here at the State Fair after his TOKYO tour Oct 9, 1985.
Wish I could have words fail me,truly a gifted guitarist one of the greatest fucking songs iv ever heard
i was fortunate enough to see him in Pittsburgh back in January 1986
He was not married g
To her yet
@@onelanebridge_ UM Sorry but yes he was..
23 people don't know about good music, SRV best guitar player EVER, Rest in peace y.y
Joaquin Sucunza they can’t “change it”
SRV's Strat is the Excalibur of Rock and Roll and I am a Les Paul Woman. OMFG He is the guitar God.
He was a big part of my life growing up. I can tell you, his music lives on always in my life.
Thank You SRV, for sharing your love with us.
Love you.... hope meeting you maybe in my dream... maybe when i'll die... dunno for some people hendrix is the legend for me its SRV long live SRV😣❤
I remember when this came out, and have always been haunted by the brief image of the Soldier on leave, having a drink alone, minding his own business, and enjoying the music.
Taken so early... Loved his music.
Let's get the Day Started with some
Stevie Ray Vaughan shall We. :-)
J.C. Daniels :that's a splendid idea
He wasn't about the money, to him music was intrinsically more valuable than gold.
SRV and Double Trouble - Change It , Soul To Soul 1985
I saw him with Clapton in Detroit before he died. He was fantastic. RIP srv
I remember reading USA Today the day after Stevie died. I believe the caption in the article read something like this: The rock/blues world mourns the loss of one of its finest." It was true then and it is still true today. RIP, Stevie!
Love his music... Love him .. Miss him.. :(
Miss his music
This song was what got me listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan. I discovered SRV in the summer of 2002. I immediately looked up what SRV meant in this song and the message was heart moving. Battling inner demons, don’t we all have them too, in one way or another! This song spoke to me and therefore its forever my favorite!
He Was amazing
Shivers, shivers right down the spine, baby! I remember when I saw this for the first time back in 1993. I must have worn the video tape out from watching it over and over. That groove, that tone, the sleazy, dirty grind and that solo just crying out "Albert King!". 21-years on, the song still hits me as hard as it did the first time! The sadness of his early departure continues to linger, but the music still echoes strongly. Thank you Stevie, wherever you are!
Ditto!
1:30 How on Earth do they sync the playing like that? So good.
225 people can't change it
Stevie Ray Vaughan was the best guitarist you could ever hear or ever could ever see in play in concert I'm 31 years old born in 1987 I would love to see him in concert he is he's my inspiration to be a better musician and be a better guitarist me and my friend Keaton Cooley and me would listen to a lot of to his music and play his music Stevie Ray Vaughan will still keep on living in our hearts he went to the afterlife best will all get to meet him someday and having man God's Kingdom Amen to that one
I couldn’t look or hear Stevie after he died it hurt knowing this beautiful talented humble real man that was a gift to the world who touched my soul was gone rip beautiful Stevie you are loved and missed ❤
it just doesnt get any better than that
Jeff R ,,,absolutely!
In Austin now...listening to SRV. Doesn't get much better!!!😎
Jim Williams : Is it me, or does anyone agree:
A ‘music video’ is a little ‘small’ for Stevie Ray Vaughan?!
Check out Chris Duarte and Hadden Sayers.
Cool vibes but Stevie will always be an oak cliff legend AKA Dallas Texas, born and raised!!!
@@o.crodriguez1133 Indeed ✌️😊
Got to see him in '87. Definitely in my top 5 😮 of the best concerts I got to see in my life ✌🏻❤️🌼
My yearly post to state this song is friggen incredible! If you all like guitar players and you don’t know who Trey Anastasio is you have NO CLUE what you’re missing.
He lived around the corner from me in Dallas @the time he made this.W@e would meet @ 12:00 every day with other folks and talk about our problems and how to fix them.He was so happy and humble about how things had worked out.Good guy
hi twelve i crying night dreams r better than here.
.
tx
+Carol Johnson hey still come back to this
...
william reeves Oak Cliff ?
"Travis"...ring a bell William?!
Had the honor of seeing him twice! Best money I ever spent!!!
great song sexy too they don't make music like this nomore love S.T.V.
First time I saw him play I was stunned, thought, "Who is this amazingly talented guy?" Those skills were/are supernatural. Even when I don't like a particular tune, his playing is flawless. Something so attractive and gentlemanly about him too, even when flipping off the camera, ha.
I like the codename. Most probably don't get it
@@luckycharms4236 Thanks. When they do get it, most don't like it, and those type are the reason for it 😎
eric claptin said the night stevie last performed before the crash that he was sitting back stage and he was to play next. eric said that stevie opened with a note he had never heard before and after listening to him it was the first time that he was scared to go on stage. because what stevie had just done there was nothing he could do that would even come close. that only says one thing. stevie was THE BEST.
Maybe my favourite of Stevie's songs. So taut, contained, and powerful! I've loved this clip for years. I'm watching it again today, 32 years after Stevie died. Miss him. Rave on Stevie Ray Vaughan ✌️🙏
That guy on the rhythm guitar is on the job.. just minding his business on ON TIME! XXXCELLENT!
Only 1 guitar besides a bass Stevie did both lead and rhythm at the same time.
It's a Video. You probably think Robert Palmer's band was a bunch of girls in miniskirts.
Listen to this then listen to srv play it live. Then do the same with some artist of today.
Best white blues guitarist. Never be another SRV. . Miss the way he became one with his axe..
I could never get tired of listening to srv music he was to awesome 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Almost obessed with this song.
I have heard all the greats.
And this solo is the best.
I know yngwie is good.
But he still doesn't touch it.
Sentimental value here.
Long live my hero Stevie
I met him at this shoot. My dad had a friend in the music business and he said they were shooting a video in Elgin. I went there with my girlfriend at the time and hung out waiting to see him. He signed my copy of Soul to Soul. Nice guy, huge hands.
I saw Stevie at the last concert he did in Texas before he left us. Only the good die young. RIP
2019 STEVIE LIVES FOREVER
