  • This video I go over my 1989 Camaro's climate controls, where to find the vacuum lines under the hood and where they are behind the dash. Also where the hot cold door flaps are located to check if they are working or not. And how to fix the plastic rubber diaphragm. This will stop any hiss or hissing noise that you may hear.
    Here are some vacuum lines: amzn.to/2iqdW3C
    Here is a new blower with motor: amzn.to/2iqksHH

    THANK YOU. Your video is much better and more straight forward than the service manual and your suggestion of using the bolt to affix the vacuum rubber worked perfectly (perhaps 'almost' perfectly, time will tell). I layered multiple nuts on it to achieve the right length, there's room for it. I no longer have that annoying HISSING in the dash. This has been one of the final fixes on my never-ending-rabbit-hole-list. MAN, when the car starts really coming together again it is something to behold.... an addictive achievement. There is a Zen in it all.

    Appreciate you showing the flap doors and cable end even though that wasn't your issue. Very thorough video.

    Great video, great information and good camera angles. But mine still not working, I replaced the carpeting in my car, could I have blocked the damper or something?

      Do you have heat or the vent working? Or is yours stuck on the defrost?

    Great info thanks! Do you know if the grey wire on the right side of the control unit is the radiator fan control signal? When I turn on the AC the radiator fan is supposed to turn on but does not. It does turn on when the engine heats up.

    Great video! My car came without factory setup due to an engine swap from the previous owner so i dnt have a lot of the vacuum valves under the hood. I did the fix you did but still goes straight to defrost. I have no clue of what else to do. Any input?

    Seeing as the switch leaks vacuum, would this affect the engine?

    Question not related to the HVAC fix…I have a 1992 Trans Am 305L. New to the auto world and wondering why your engine looks so much different than mine? Mine has the air filter pan on top. I like the clean look of yours. May be a stupid question but was curious.

      You have throttle body injection, TBI for short. His car is equipped with tuned port injection or TPI. just different fuel injection options.

      I also have the same issue, mine broke into pieces. I'm not sure if replacements exist, I am going to try to make a new one myself.

    1992 Pontiac Firebird - Blower Motor Switch -- I took out my radio out and put my finger on the back side and wiggled it -- on MAX - the MED-HI fan was engaged ...and the LOW worked .. but not HIGH or MED-LO ... I think it is this part... Standard Motor Product Part Number: 4659-06095888: HVAC Blower Motor Switch. UPDATE: There are 5 Copper prongs on this switch. There was one that got HOT and melted the plastic around it. I would say this is the problem. The OEM Part Number is 16068778. The metal hanger I think can be used again - but there are 3 little clamps that hold it in there. The NEW part is different in the screw placement on the gold metal setup is straight up & down. Mine OEM part has them opposite ends.

    hey man quick question, that vacuum hose at 3:43, is that neccesary to make everything work correctly? I recently bought a 3rd gen that I had to replace the hvac valve and it never came with that hose connector on top. Also, what might that hose connect to lol? Thanks dude-

Please let me know if you’ve had any luck with it:)

    Help!! I have a problem with my 3rd gen camaro, when the car is running I get air through my vents and the knob that controls my air speed isn't working inside it won't do anything. I don't know what to do

    • @JRobling
      @JRobling  7 років тому

      Take it apart like it did in the video and find out what isn't working. Trace the lines that control the speed

    What would happen if your control works but it squals when you start up and goes away after 5 minutes?

    what if the leak is in the left side vacuum hoses. how do you repair that?

    • @JRobling
      @JRobling  6 років тому

      Find the leak and repair the hose. I had to do that with one of the vacuum lines for my cruise control, just used some electrical tape for the hole

    Hey man i have a question how would you go about fixing the blend door cable if it broke off ?

    • @JRobling
      @JRobling  7 років тому +1

      If i had the broken piece I would solder it back on or if I no longer had it I would pick up some wire and re create the loop and solder the piece onto the main cable

      J Robling Thanks so much but my whole piece turned into crumbs lol im not sure what to do at this point 😞

    • @JRobling
      @JRobling  7 років тому +1

      It is suppose to be hard, the wire attached to the vent door is very short and the vacuum lines are short too. You just have to try and pull them up carefully or disconnect some
