- In this video I remove and replace the turn signal stock in my 1989 camaro. I was having problems with the stock not wanting to work the cruise control and delay wipers.
Here is the stock I used: amzn.to/2sPFmZP

Followed this video and was successful. The string is an awesome idea. Worked like a charm.
I just replaced mine in my 92. I noticed my wire on the new windshield/ turn signal shaft was not as long as it described in this video. So I decided to give a shot to see what the difference was, at the very least I purchased the wrong one and could have easily pushed the old one back in. Well, I was pleasantly surprised that I have a clip connection approximately 2 inches inside the column that disconnects by the turn signal handle as soon as I pulled it out. So, I plugged the new one in and it worked, so I didn't need to go all the way down the column and trace it like the video portrays. 92 RS is alot easier took me 5 minutes and I was done! Thanks for the video it is appreciated!
I’m replacing mine on my 92 rs, how did you remove the wire? Where is the disconnect? What did you have to remove?
Hey buddy. Just replaced mine the same way you did but I can't get mine to twist to the bottom two settings. What have I missed?
So I have a question. My brights work but my blinkers don't. When I turn either of them on the don't light up or blink inside or out. Could it be the lever stock? Or switch?
I have a 93 Firebird formula
Question - can you just cut the wire at the lever's side, splice the new one in?
Fishing line!!! Ok. Wish me luck. I just got an 83 and know nothing about how to do anything. This is my first project. Let’s hope that was the issue :)
Was the link in the description the right part for an 83? I need to do mine and don’t want to order the wrong part.
Man!!! Thank's a lot, i though i was goin to take the whole stering wheel out, now i will be able to do it right and easier!!!!
Thank you very much very helpful couldn't find it on my k5 and with this vid I was able to find it
just a note if you push it in to far it will just turn and do nothing just pull it out a tad and she works fine also if the cruise control is disconnected you can just cut the wires off everything else will work fine
Got an 84’ would all these methods apply?
Will this fix the high beams
Mi problema es que la 0alanca está como sí estuviera rota sube y baja
J Robling good video 👍 I got a question for you. On my 91 Camaro when I try to turn my high beams on it won’t work unless I use the steering wheel tilt and tilt the steering wheel up. I heard this is common on 3rd gen Camaro. If I replace the part that you did in this video will that fix it? Or is it something else that’s causing that problem? I heard it’s a common issue I hope you heard of it before and know how to fix it? Let me know if you do thanks!!
As far as I have heard about this problem it can either be the stalk or its the plastic internals that control the stalk inside the steering column.
Did the switch have the "snappy" feel before it was installed? Like when you rotate it. Just got mine in the mail and it doesn't but I haven't installed it yet so I'm wondering if the one I got is busted or it just rotates freely because it's not installed.
Nevermind on this. The snappy part is indeed inside the steering wheel
I switched out the wiper switch but i only get two speeds i wonder if i got the wrong switch
Louis Mac that's odd. Does it look like your old one?
But how do you fix the blinker mechanism
I don't have the delay one or cruse. But wondering if I can replace my base one with a stick that has delay but no cruse? The mechanization is the same motor as one with delay. I checked. So it should work as the electrical connection is in the stick for speed settings etc?.
As far as I know there are two separate housings that control the wipers, one for the delay and one that doesn't have the delay option. I remember looking it up because that was a common problem that went out on these camaros. Its a circuit board that controls the wiper speed, so Im pretty sure the delay wont work if you get one with it.
So if you replace the signal switch out in the steering...it should work?
if you want delay wipers you would have to find a new motor circuit board assembly, thats the part that controls the delay
Ok, so I guess you mean the motor that runs the wipers, yes? Not sure where the circuit board assembly would be on my 85 since I do not have any computer stuff on this base car.

Take a look at that picture, the motor assembly is on the firewall. In this picture the plastic housing is off, but under it there is a cylinder, that is the motor, and above it, the exposed part, is the circuit board that controls the delay.
Thanks man, got my new stalk coming in shortly.
Hey J Robling quick question where can I find the fuel pressure regulator screws for my 1988 IROC Z , the reason I'm asking is cause I just recently replaced the fuel pressure regulator on my car but the screws are not tighting down anymore and I've been looking for the screws online and can't find them anywhere and my iroc has just been sitting there for the past month and a half. Please help
Im not sure you would be able to find them online, your best bet would probably be to try and match the screw at a hardware store
I have a 92, and I can't get my brights to come on, but my turn signals, wipers and cruise work like a dream, should I do this process? or will I need to mess with switches? love your vids, you have videos for almost all the stuff I need to do on my camaro!
It could be the stalk or the switch in the column
J Robling any insight on doing those switches inside the column
Iv had it apart once when I first got the camaro to tighten up the column its pretty confusing. I never did a video on it but there are some videos on youtube that show the process of removing it down to that point. Just get to that point and see whats going on, might be a broken piece not grabbing the plastic

Hey would this work on a 2001 Camaro? Great instructional video by the way!
I think they use the same signal stalk so it would work the same, but I can't say for sure since I don't have a 2001
Mine works it just doesn’t click so what that mean it’s broken??
Thank you! Great help! Managed to replace mine! :)
Did u struggle to connect it back together i cant seem to plug it back in to the harness in the bottom ....
It took me a while to feed the wire through but I didn't have any problems with plugging it back in
JR I replaced my stick but now my wipers will not turn off any idea what that could be?
If it is not the stock then its the wiper motor cover. They are hard to find because no one makes them. It has the circuit board your wipers use and it can get damaged.
Wipers come on when I turn on the car, will this work on my 1995 Camaro?
The 1995 Camaro is a different generation, I wouldn't know
Yes it will man they're basically the same steering column don't you think that's kind of different is the steering shaft for the Steering wheel.
had to replace mine .High beams didn't work.
Signal stalk has nothing to do with high beams other than being a lever to operate them. The actual switch is on the side of the column, and any adjustments are made there.
jo3tag. Replace that to Fukn idiot !
Man that's because when you pull the shaft back on the turn signal thing to activate high beams it pushes a plastic piece to the metal rod to the high beam switch
All you had to do is remove the cap on the column under the tilt lever and unplug it. If I'm not mistaken.
How did you take about a switch on a 1989 Buick century
