Man, the most fun I've had while driving was in an old, tired little turbo diesel van pulling a trailer. Although weak, the engine had excellent throttle response above 2k rpm. The car had a sloppy manual transmission, rear wheel drive and an unusually tight steering rack. I sat there, trying to maintain momentum through corners on these windy country roads, foot to the floor up every hill, focusing on perfect gear changes. All to just about keep up with traffic.
I drive same route now with the same load in modern car with actual decent handling, great brakes, loads more power and a good auto box. It's dreadfully boring! I'd have to drive like a maniac to have any fun now.

The Musketball sounds like the perfect event for a Volkswagen van. Loads of space for supplies, you can easily sleep in it while someone else drives, it is vastly underpowered, it will shut down on you if you push it too hard but come back to life once rested, you can give it a variety of motifs, you'll barely make it to 65 mph, you can equip it for long distance travel easily.

But than again getting it from Southern Sweden to the States would be a challenge and then it will not like the American Diesel which it isn’t tuned for.

The best way to tell a story, is to feel all the aches and pains, take the time to heal, then share your story. The best stories typically start "so, there I was. Or... No shit. Or it was a terrible idea at the time, (it got worse, got better)."
These stories don't work well on paper. It's amazing to hear it, you hear/feel the joy, the Horror/heartbreak. You take a 2000 mile journey, but, you are only reading it. You may not really know anything about how it works, you may not feel the joy of that journey by reading it.
Hearing the stories, edited as they may be... well I appreciate the story. I'd buy any story teller, a beer.
I'd love to hear their stories in person, and call bullshit on them from time to time, and if I'm wrong buy them another round.

Those Saturns don't have a complete front suspension from the factory. They use an oversized front sway bar as an adhoc lower control arm/trailing lower link, they have another single bushing flimsy lateral link and the strut. It's a Very loose arrangement on a good day.
Kinda fun on extremely sloppy winter snow and slush covered roads using the P-brake for turn in though.

I got pulled over in my old Yaris up in Alberta. Mountie comes up to my window, first thing he says, ‘I clocked you doing a buck fifty. I didn’t know this thing could *go* that fast.’
It could do about 180 km/h before the limiter kicked in, but I wisely kept my mouth shut.
