12:00 just letting you know he was a fairly violent guy, I live in Alaska and he was seen fighting with the other bison and headbutting the gate. So that is why! Although that is in their nature, :)
The elephants were kept in the area to the left of the mountain goat/dall sheep. The small bit of it that you see in the video was the large heated indoor facility, the outdoor area is to the left of that. It's the upper right corner of the zoo map shown at 11:09
Oh! Yeah the elephants were given like that as prizes. So much interesting history of the importation of elephants in america as part of the circus! That's what part of my thesis was on!
Thank you for making these videos! I've only ever been at one zoo that I can really remember. I've lost almost all of my vision so even when I got to go I couldn't see much so it means a lot to be able to see these videos! I'd love to go to a zoo with someone like you, I wouldn't feel rushed.
I know Cranbeary! She was born at Denver Zoo in Colorado in 2002. I didn't remember which zoo she'd gone to, and I haven't seen her in years, so it's good to see her again!
Not my zoo or not comparable to good European zoos! Way to small exhibits, a lot of fences over fences and now landscape or green in the icebear exhibit and not only one climbing opportunity in the brown bear exhibit? Wow 👎🏻

I really love the "low tech" approach the zoo has. I always try to make my zoos to look this way, but they get very elaborate very quickly

Zoo tours are so cool!
It's like a 15-20 minute drive from the zoo to beluga point where you can see dall sheep actually in the wild all the time.
Thank you for bringing us the zoo of the Taiga Forest! Pretty different to those zoos in temperate or tropical region

I absolutely love the entire design of the snowleopard exhibit. Very inspiring!
This zoo reminds me of the Minnesota Zoo, if you ever gp to MN you need to check out the zoo!

Sorry for being a nit picky jerk but Tasmanian devils and wolverines r like two COMPLETELY different animals, how did u mess that up LOL😑🤣
If you want to actually see the animals, Alaska Conservation Center is way better.
