I’m a big fan Savana! Thanks for giving me inspiration for my parks! I’m very excited for the new babies! I really love the spinosaurus so I’m going to make baby spinos!
I hope that last part also means we'll get more alternative species. It would be neat to get new relatives of the in-game animals that lived in different environments. E.g. Pygmy & Columbian mammoths
I assume you're referring to the current Woolly Mammoth; it's indeed insinuating that they will add sexual dimorphism so female mammoths don't grow full-length tusks. But in the past they have been pretty clear on adding alternate species to existing genera; not in the pipeline. New proboscideans might make more use of the alternate skins/species. But I would keep very low expectations on more members added to the Mammuthus genus. Also, the current implementation already features three different sizes that are interpretations of different populations: the smaller blond skin representing Wrangel Island population, while the larger blacker one is an interpretation of temperate European populations, and the brown medium one would be the generic steppe one. What's important to point out too, is the way Mammuthus was created with a flattened hair texture, that features hair fx on top of that. If it's generally considered and popularised that Columbian Mammoths were much less hairy, the devs would have to go through a massive amount of work redoing them all to add it as an alternate species. What they are saying with the Tarbosaurus example are slight model edits, stopping at a certain ontogenic growth stage on existing animal skins to differentiate them more. So unless the community and the devs are wildly in favour or losing a current Woolly skin to represent Pygmy mammoths, it's unlikely to happen
There's no official info on the kinds of reproduction yet. But since the ontogeny series doesn't start with day-old hatchlings, it would make it less ¨realistic¨ for a 2m long T.rex to hatch from a mango-sized egg. I'm sure they'll find a satisfying solution
When you were comparing the ontogeny system to ZT2 and PZ I wasn't sure if you grasped what PK is doing different. In those earlier games, animals are born and might grow a little before they morph into the next stage in a few seconds. In PK however, animals will slowly grow to the next morph across several in-game minutes if not hours. So far the work in progress looks promising though! I'm also SUPER excited to go back and adapt my current prefabs with the new materials
@@SimplySavannahYT Maybe it was that! No worries though; I'm a bit picky with technical explanations. And it lowers expectations inadvertently for new players
R u gonna make a video on the planet zoo news? Or r u gonna wait till they give more information? They haven’t even given us the name of the pack yet, but they’ve shown three of the animals in it, plus we’re getting the African leopard as the anniversary animal! 🐆
I have seen a baby triceratops skull in person and man they nailed those little horns and can’t wait to see them run around
They do look really good!
@@SimplySavannahYTHey friend, tomorrow the Planet Zoo game will announce the last DLC update PC Official this week in October?
I believe that Ankylosaurus skin is inspired by the Walking with Dinosaurs Ankylosaurus
It totally is, though if you compare them side-by-side it's less obvious.
BEeee skin
@@NewAge374 well yeah it's not 100% like the WWD Anky but it's close enough that you can tell it was a bit inspired with colors and patterns
The Triceratops babies remind me of Moo Deng the pygmy hippo.
So cute.😍❤

12:15 on the right ?
I hope the baby are not like in planet zoo they better make nests 😭😂
Hope so
Reproduction will be added after ontogeny, so we won't get nesting until long after babies are added.
