I just got my mazda 3 sedan yesterday , exactly same spec and colour. The snowflakes white pearl is sexy. Previous car is cx3 for 5 years, decision to upgrade to 3 sedan is my best decision. Indeed struggle to decide either CX30, 3 sedan or civic RS, but I never regretted rejecting civic RS or CX30. Civic even though 1.5T engine, but 3 sedan 2NA engine is more than enough for highway or city drive. Don't bother about the turbo, click the sport mode in 3 sedan, it rev up and give u the boost of power while driving and it is exiting enuf for me. Handling, 3 sedan is so fun to go around corners, I test drove civic and CX30, civic gave me too light handling and steering, doesn't feel like driving a real car. While CX30, becoz of the higher ground clearance, cornering is not as stable and comfortable as 3 sedan. Interior wise, to me best among Japanese brands, civic improved a lot from ketam version, but still not as premium as 3 sedan. Surprisingly CKD CX30 is as good as 3sedan Cbu Japan. I like the overall experience driving the 3 sedan, with MRCC in city drive, sport mode 150+kmh, cornering in manual mode, the jinba ittai is no kidding, civic couldn't offer u this feeling. Price expensive? To me it worth paying it, with so much cheaper SUV from China, EVs, and direct competitor in c segment such as altis or civic, I dun think those mentioned alternatives can give me the satisfaction to drive a 3 sedan. Only problem with me, the waiting time to get the Cbu 3 sedan, is at least 2 months. Ordered platinum quartz, but after 2 months HQ didn't deliver to Malaysia and need to another month, so decided to change order to white ex stock, no regret to get this as my last ICE car before moving to EV after 5-8 years later.
Acceleration definitely not as fast as civic turbo. But to me is powerful and responsive enough for city drive and highway. If going to hill drive, use sports mode, super fun to drive
Thank you for this video! I'm curently having a mazda 3 2010 1,6L NA and i'm planning in the future to get a newer version with the 2.0 L NA engine. I like how it behaves and the performance it's nice , decent you can have some fun with it. Of course i would love a more powerfull car but i also love the maintenance of NA engines and almost no problems at all ( 5 years with my mazda and only basic maintenance, 0 problems) Thanks again YS!
i noticed uncle didnt comment on the GVC plus... would really appreciate uncle's honest opinion on the difference between non-GVC vs GVC plus.. does it really give more confidence on high speed cornering & less bodyroll as per advertised? how significant is the difference.. planning to upgrade to 3.. am a proud owner of 8+ years old 2 with 250k+ km spririted driving without any drama with the mechanics.. reliable car❤
I was never a good driver. But after driving the Mazda 3 BP sedan I feel like my driving had vastly improved and didnt even realized I had been driving pretty fast 😂. When I see a clean corner, I always attempt to attack it flat out (of course do it safely) and the Mazda 3 never disappoint.
i own m3 sedan 1.5 2019. now i have problem what jdm car next should i buy 😄, this car really good, fuel consumption also good maybe due to 1.5 engine, car revving so fantastic, the revv sound nice to hear from inside cabin
Hi Uncle what do you think if the car can drop weight from 1400 to 1300 - 1350kg, the pickup will increase a lot? Perhaps taking out the spare tyre and other unrequired spares in the car.
As a driver and owner of both the MX-5 ND and the BM and BP Mazda 3 models, I can confidently say that the handling of the BP Mazda 3 is a noticeable step up from the BM. The BP offers a sense of lightness and a remarkable directness in steering response. Among the entire passenger car lineup, the Mazda 3 comes closest to the MX-5 in terms of driving dynamics. Very happy with all my Mazdas.
The Civic eHEV is a very good car, and it is basically an electric car with a charger, and the engine sometimes helps to drive the car. There is no real cvt in it. Compared to it the Mazda3 is Mazda's showcase of its proven SKYACTIV tech that features simple technology and a high compression that delivers a good balance of power and fuel efficiency, a promise of trouble-free reliability.
for driving experience, comfort, cornering etc. which one do you prefer? civic, altis and mazda 3. pls advice uncle. im in dilemma uncle. appreciate ur response
Hi Uncle Khong, I have an offer for Lexus UX 200 Yr 2021 with price similar with Mazda 3 Liftback. I am torn between this 2 cars, what is your advise will be since you have tested both before? thank You
Mr.YS, how do you compare the drive up genting between a 162 hp NA mazda 3 and 148 hp turbo proton S70. Which one feels more powerful going up genting?
@@YSKhongDriving but s70 lack of paddle shift, if they have paddle shifter DCT + 1.5T will be alot better than 6At + 2.0Na..but now I think I would stick with mazda 3 due to their 6AT + paddle shifter
Definitely the 2.0 anytime, anywhere, anyway. They have surplus 1.5l engine stock but then can't sell enough mazda 2 models globally, so they put it into other models and forced consumers to buy it on larger and heavier platforms in neglible markets where the consumers are less well informed
@@YSKhongDriving the 1.5l is over stressed on this Mazda 3 platform with its heavier chassis. If only Mazda can come out with newer engines but it seems they can't divert enough resources for their research development side.....and then put into production sadly

It doesn’t have turbo but is it fast enough ?

Omg I've been waiting for a 2.0 Sedan review. Finally. Thank you Uncle!!!
Enjoy!
its a safe car for sure , for your daily drive . Its good at all aspect

Thanks for sharing - many people say similar things: it is that feeling of security as you go flat through the corners.

That blurred speedometer 😊
Nevermind the fuel consumption I wish they van plonk a 2.5T skyactiv engine into it like the states
Wow, great review on the Mazda 3. It's a flexible and agile car for the mountain.
It sure is!
mazda 3 sedan, civic fe or peugeot 408, which one will you choose uncle?
When will the CX5 have this type of modern infotainment system? The facelift CX5 version still using old school ( ten year ago ) design what the bad!
Excellent driving skills👌
Thanks ✌️
Wahh mazda engine rev so well
Saw many in JB from SG. Theirs are mostly hybrid and looks so good
Would the 2.5 NA be much more better and fun ?
Love this video, Uncle. Can’t wait to get mine and test drive up Genting. Cheers!
Be careful when driving up ya?
Good Day Uncle, How do u compare the sedan vs the cx-30
CBU Mazda 2.0 engine sounds good n smooth. But the Mazda CX 30 with CKD engine sounds rough. Its quite apparent differences in quality.
Been waiting for this, thanks
Hope you enjoyed it!
'A chuck-able car' approved by Uncle YS
In dilemma whether this or Civic. Which I should choose uncle? I tend to Mazda 3 because of sunroof only actually.
I’m enjoying 1.5 mild hybrid.
Hi Uncle what do you think if the car can drop weight from 1400 to 1300 - 1350kg, the pickup will increase a lot? Perhaps taking out the spare tyre and other unrequired spares in the car.
Yes it will be faster and handle better.
Uncle...Peugeot 408 to Genting pls..
Iam using this car uae abudhabi..
Engine long life reliable?better than toyoto engine ? 2020 model 2.0 L
Yes, very reliable

Suspension Adjustable ?
How is this different in terms of handling and comfort with previous model? 2014 onwards.
This is built on a totally new and more rigid platform, so ot handles better; it is also bigger, with a longer wheelbase.
Is it more fun if compare to civic 1.5T?
It is different! Jinba Ittai
Hello Uncle YS, may I ask what is your opinion comparing this mazda 3 sedan against the 2024 civic ehev since it's an e-cvt?
The Civic eHEV is a very good car, and it is basically an electric car with a charger, and the engine sometimes helps to drive the car. There is no real cvt in it.
Compared to it the Mazda3 is Mazda's showcase of its proven SKYACTIV tech that features simple technology and a high compression that delivers a good balance of power and fuel efficiency, a promise of trouble-free reliability.
Thank you Uncle YS, for sharing your thoughts!
Would you recommend the sedan or hatchback version ?
Both are just as gopd, so depends on your taste. I prefer the sedan
Hi uncle YS , may I ask mazda 3 liftback and sedan got any different in terms of handling and blind spots area during driving ?
Very similar I think
How do you compare to new civic?
Both are good in their own way. The Civic has more power on paper, but ultimately it will be a choice betwern CVT and 6- speed auto.
for driving experience, comfort, cornering etc. which one do you prefer? civic, altis and mazda 3. pls advice uncle. im in dilemma uncle. appreciate ur response
The Mazda3 has the nest transmission - 6 speed auto versus CVT. The Civic has the most power and the Altis is the most comfortable. Take your pick
Altis is better than civic.
how difference is it compared to the hatchback version?
Similar, but its been a long time so cannot remember.
How about the cabin noise in the car? Does it as noisy as Myvi? My Mazda 3 2016 is pretty noisy tho
This one is very quiet
civic ehev or mazda 3 in terms of handling?
About equal
Hi Uncle Khong, I have an offer for Lexus UX 200 Yr 2021 with price similar with Mazda 3 Liftback. I am torn between this 2 cars, what is your advise will be since you have tested both before? thank You
The stark difference is the 3 year old versus brand new. Warranty is almost done.
Hi Uncle! Which is better in terms of driving dynamics, this one or the 2024 Honda Civic Turbo?
Mazda 3
CVT vs 6AT u choose
6 speed AT anytime.
The 6AT is really good to drive, and although not as powerful, the Mazda 3 gets my vote. The Honda has a great engine but the cvt is the weak link.
@@YSKhongDriving thank you uncle ❤️
I thought uncle already drove this car before to genting? 2019 if im not mistaken
Not the sedan. This is the first time. I drove the hatch
@@YSKhongDriving any different with the hatch vs the sedan ?
This Mazda 3 or Civic eHEV?
Your choice, really.
Need helpp. Mazda 3 or swift sport?
Mazda3 of course- bigger car
Uphill +/- Rm7 it should be worth it considering smile per mile. 19:57 uncle ys phone number public property got me 😂
Well, we do sell cars through this number and it helps to keep the channel going.
I LoVe it❤
torsion bar any good?
No issues
Mr.YS, how do you compare the drive up genting between a 162 hp NA mazda 3 and 148 hp turbo proton S70.
Which one feels more powerful going up genting?
Surprisingly the two would be quite close: the S70 could do with a better set of tyres.
@@YSKhongDriving Thank you, I appreciate this insight 👍
@@YSKhongDriving but s70 lack of paddle shift, if they have paddle shifter DCT + 1.5T will be alot better than 6At + 2.0Na..but now I think I would stick with mazda 3 due to their 6AT + paddle shifter
S70 cannot la, handling so so
So fast you need to blur the speedometer 😂
So that we can speed up the video: actually we dont want to feed those keyboard warriors.
Uncle YS, 1.5 or 2.0 suit the mazda 3 the most?
Definitely the 2.0 anytime, anywhere, anyway. They have surplus 1.5l engine stock but then can't sell enough mazda 2 models globally, so they put it into other models and forced consumers to buy it on larger and heavier platforms in neglible markets where the consumers are less well informed
If they put 1.5 turbo than you can choose it.. I'm hear 1.5 NA bit under power cause mazda 3 body bit heavy
@@mykchancy 2.5 na will be perfect without the turbo issue maintenance down the line
Too bad no 2.5 NA for the Mazda 3 here , will be best model without going for the turbo maintenance and longevity
I agree, but it is up to the auto maker.😀
nice

This engine made their decision to keep the 1.5l in production pointless . I guess they had to get rid of excess 1.5l engines in their inventory.
Need to keep the 1.5L for Singapore’s cat A COE 😂
The 1.5 is used in the Mazda3 , CX3 and Mazda2.
