Don’t agree with the part Mazda need to make touch screen and make screen closer. The screen position is perfect and when the car bounces, it’s impossible to touch a fix point on any screen. And when you put screen far, you don’t need to move your eyes far away from the road too far to see the map
I really don’t understand the hate in these comments. For the price of this car and the segment it’s in you get a lot. So much nicer and more powerful than any civic or Corolla aside from the gr but that’s 15k more expensive. You have Hyundai and their N cars which have more performance but look like hot wheel kid racer cars. It’s cool if you’re 18 but not for everyone. This Mazda has the best style in its price range while also giving you a bit of performance. Couple of points: first, you can't get the Mazda3 sedan with a manual. It's only available in one trim, the premium hatchback with the naturally aspirated motor. I was actually seriously looking at one a few months ago. Second, good luck trying to get a GR Corolla or a Civic Type R at MSRP. With allocations so low and demand so high for those, most dealers are tacking on outrageous ADM which prices those right out of this category. All that being said, I've got a deposit down on a Mazda3 hatch turbo premium plus that I found in transit to a dealer. Got it for under MSRP (only $750 under, but better than nothing and I would never pay above sticker for any vehicle). While I prefer a manual, the wife can't drive stick, and she needs to be able to drive this should the need arise. Rear seat room is a non-issue as it's just the two of us, and I'm looking for something with a bit more comfort and daily driveability to replace the modded Fiesta ST I picked up a couple of months ago which, while great fun to drive, I find tiresome on a day to day basis. And I've still got a 2022 Camaro 2SS 1LE, with a manual, for nice weather, weekend fun drives (which may also explain why the tighter cockpit of the Mazda3 appeals to me!).
I'm on my 2nd one of these cars. The infotainment screen is touch screen after android auto is connected. And can be enabled to stay on from the connectivity settings. Also android auto can be wireless after the first connection with usb

The reliability isn't any better. Look at the newer models they were rated reliable in 2021 but since then their reliability dropped and got knocked off the top 3 listing per consumer reports. The top 3 brands that are most reliable as of 2023 is lexus, Toyota and suprisinly bmw is 3rd.
@@judasblewit ifrc they dropped to like 4th or 5th place followed by Honda, and then Audi. Mazda in 2021 was rated #1 above toyota. Then it tanked after due to numerous recalls and general quality problems.
I own one and I definitely don't get that type of joy canyon carving in mine. The manual mode transmission and torsion beam is terrible for driving beyond a daily commuter. The AWD helps, but it definitely feels like you're fighting against the car's rear suspension more than you're "one with the car."

Always makes me laugh when people compare with costs keeping the corolla gr and civic type r or integra at msrp. Finding a mazda3 gt like new for under 30k is very easy, finding a civic type R as new under 50k + is very difficult. I dont think we should compare a luxury hatchback vs a 2-3 times the price track ready hatchback. Also the integra is more like a big sedan than a smaller car like the mazda therefor I wouldnt have them comparable. I agree though that the sedan is better car.
As a current Mazda 3 owner... I am not impressed with its Turbo offering. It has to compete with the GTI before I will ever consider it. The turbo offering is underwhelming.
I’m not sure I agree with you that because there are other cars that each do something better than the 3, the 3 is a bad purchase. The Civic Type R and GR Corolla are great hot hatches but have sporty interiors and are manual only, which rules them out for the vast majority of customers. The Civic hatch is more fuel efficient but has a worse interior and less power. The premium trim NA 3 has less power. The Integra doesn’t have AWD but does have a CVT. The A2/A Class are more expensive. Instead of focusing on cars that beat the turbo 3 on individual aspects, I think we might benefit from investigating whether another car can match or exceed the holistic package of the turbo 3 at its price point. In my view it’s a premium compact car at a discount available in either hatch or sedan.
Quicker 0-60 times by turning off TCS and shifting at 5000-5200 rpm to stay in the meat of the power. This engine falls a bit flat beyond that And the sweet-spot trim is the "turbo" Which gets 99% of the features of the premium plus but sits at $32,450
I feel like the gr corolla and the type r are completely incomparable, where you gonna find either of those cars without being up charged 10 grand, you’re better off comparing it to a civic SI or a golf R or an Elantra N where you can actually find them for MSRP
the 3 turbo still loses out on the elantra n on terms of fun, the civic si is cheaper+manual, and golf r is still marked up in many cases lol and is $10k more than this

No one buys manual these days and even if there is, its minimal and inconsequential compared to the entire market of buyers. mnanufacturers would be taking a loss in making manual cars.
@@441meatloaf that is not true at all. Plenty of people buy manuals. Just look at the demand for the GR Coreolla and Civic Type R! Only manual and the demand is through the roof. And about 34% of all mini cooper buyers opt for the manual

For my 2020 hatch if I put it in manual mode and floor it but not hit the button at the bottom of the pedal it wont upshift for me. It will stay at whatever gear and hit rev limiter. Hi Miles I Pick this car The Exact color & Trim
I like cars that are different & Not like Every body else
I'm not the only one that hustles my Mazda 3 too. The handling is top tier, even under the limits it is so smooth and planted.
Torsion beam rear suspension is cheap.........
@@crow_2k11beatsbydre8 with stiff frame, good torsional rigidity, and narrow wheelbase it should feel fine regardless. Stiff frame is essential here.
@@jamesmedina2062 Except the torsion doens't compensate for the bad ride......maybe on the sedan its average but the fact mazda switched to torsion even on their SUV line including the new CX50 is a joke. The suspension likes to bounce a lot and its very unsettled in uneven road. It has really poor comfort and very unsettled handling in the rear.
@@441meatloaf thats a shame. I had a Passat with torsion beam for 15 years and actually never complained about the ride. The problem was in tire wear. Every year I had to replace tires when I logged about 25k miles. Now with Honda and independent I get double that. The sway bars act like torsion beam to limit sway so even with front and rear independent, its not totally independent L&R.
@@jamesmedina2062 vw and mazdas are very diff. Vw tunes it's vehicle for comfort and has a much softer chassis. Mazda uses a very stiff chassis with a very stiff suspension suspension....stiff and stiff don't make it handle good.
Nobody checks their blind spots whilst driving anymore because every decent car worth buying has BSM. So the Hatch is BY FAR the better looking & choice :)
I love the Mazda 3 sedan. Such a nicely made car
Its not a sedan its a hatchback.....the sedan with the trunk is better.
@@441meatloaf I didn't say I liked this one
mazda 3 sedan has to be the most ugliest car possibly ever made, how is that any good 😂😂☠☠
Nice car, but definitely prefer the sedan variant in terms of looks.
Same. I have the Mazda 3 Sedan AWD with the premium turbo plus trim and it’s amazing in both functionality and looks. I can’t stop admiring my car when I walk away from it. I’ll admit, I’m 5’8 so my head touches the roof if I sit straight up but it’s on problem since I’m usually reclined back
if you don't "click" the button at the end of the accelerator pedal, it won't auto-shift
yea just seen a video about that the other day
Don’t agree with the part Mazda need to make touch screen and make screen closer.
You smack an Audi badge on this car and for CAD 38k people would be saying it’s the bargain of the century.
as a hot hatch its half baked and as a premium compact the interior is nice but its also very cramped
@@ShaiyanHossain pretty much every hatch is cramped especially the rear seats. I agree that it’s not a hot hatch but it’s not meant to be one. Also a true hot hatch like the golf R is like 25K CAD more expensive. Hyundai’s aren’t subtle enough for my taste and their interiors are meh.
Truth is, for the price range it’s in - no other car comes close in terms of mix of luxury and performance.
@@martinnikodinoski6474 i have an integra and the rear seat space is on another world vs the 3, though if the 3 turbo had a manual id sacrifice that hatch space for more fun wit h turbo+manual+awd
@@ShaiyanHossain the integra has more space but the 3 has more power and a nicer interior. It comes down to what your needs are I guess. I don’t really need a massive trunk or rear space as I’ll have people in my back seat maybe once or twice per year.
It’d be nice if the 3 turbo had a manual option but the reality is very few people would buy them.
@@ShaiyanHossain Integra is more of a sedan than a hatch. It's also the exception in this class because the Civic platform is the longest in this class. If you compare Mazda 3 with other hatches like Golf, A3, 1 series, etc there is not much difference in rear seat space between them.
Wow, dropping the manual must be new for this year. In 2022, you could get it with the MT in FWD trim.
Camaro SS 1LE...nice!
I'm on my 2nd one of these cars. The infotainment screen is touch screen after android auto is connected. And can be enabled to stay on from the connectivity settings. Also android auto can be wireless after the first connection with usb
with the exception of the miata, i’ve always overlooked mazda. i’ve never really been crazy about their exterior styling, performance, technology, or their engine soundtracks when comparing to other makes. and this video is a prime example of why i tend to pay attention to other makes more than mazda. i guess mazda’s antidote is their reliability, and, of course, the miata
Your a Brand Snob .
Mazda isn't for everyone and I'm kind of thankful for that.

I own one and I definitely don't get that type of joy canyon carving in mine. The manual mode transmission and torsion beam is terrible for driving beyond a daily commuter. The AWD helps, but it definitely feels like you're fighting against the car's rear suspension more than you're "one with the car."

It may be a Mazda3 Turbo...but it's in no way a Speed 3. Good to see some aftermarket support appearing for this. But i'm waiting to see more about the future RX-9 concept that was mentioned...
CX30 Turbo has it all !!
I just ordered my Mazda 3 sedan 2024 base trim since that's the only one available in my country Saudi Arabia at this time , the only major difference is the base sedan in middle east is 2.0 liter non turbo engine. I can't wait for it.
It auto up shifts because this car has no business being near its redline. All torque is produced between 2-4K rpm. Otherwise, good review.
The turbo offering is underwhelming.
turbo is not a GTI competitor, it's just a normal Mazda 3 but with a more potent engine.

Something I never see anyone mention in reviews of the hatch is, you cannot fold the rear seats unless the person infront is like 5'0 in height. I'm small at 5'5 in boots and with the driver seat in a comfortable position for me I can not fold the rear seat from its upward position without moving the seat forward, and with a power seat it is a minor ordeal not just a quick handle to grab and yank. You gotta wait, fold the seat, then either hit memory so it moves back automatically or move it back yourself. Its because of the rear headrests, which do not appear removable.
Repeat process for when you want to lift the rear seats back up, because the headrest gets jammed into the back of the seat infront unless you move it again.
