Hyundai putting turbos and tunes on their cars from the factory and Kia is starting to produce manual transmissions for their sports cars, what a time to be alive
Exept theyre pretty much maxed out from the factory and wont last long. To add the resale values are a joke. Pay more for a toyota or honda and get more in the long run. A car that doesnt fall apart...
Hyundai is only underrated to the ignorant! Hyundai vehicles are very well reviewed, not to mention they are all over the road. I've been a Hyundai/kia owner since 2003. Currently have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan which I been trading in for 18 months now. I just love the car so much I can't pull the trigger. We went and got the wife the Palisade, I'm a car guy but man do I love that Palisade. We took that to Florida back in August, easiest long trip drive I've ever made. Me and the car shared driving there and back. Crazy how good the driving assist package is on that thing. Totally destroys what my cousins 2019 Escalde has to offer. Not to mention it has a better ride, more usable features, better sound system. Imo a better vehicle period and we paid 30k less.
@@jamesriley6947 This comment is so late you've definitely already made a decision by now, but just in case you didn't know back then or now, the N-Line has everything the SEL+ does, just with the performance and sportiness upgrades N and N-Line vehicles are known for. So long as you make sure it's got the technology package, you're getting the same car but better. Only the Limited has more features.

Seriously considering one of these as my first brand new car. As old as it makes me feel to want an automatic fwd sedan, at the same time it seems legitimately pleasing to drive, plus the features that come as standard put my 2010 acura TL to shame. All for Civic or Accord price? Yes please. EDIT: I pulled the trigger shortly after this comment, and I have not regretted it yet. The N-Line is truly satisfying to drive, both as a daily and under... "sporting conditions." The only thing missing is a manual transmission, though I know that'll never happen. I haven't had the chance to bring it to a track yet, but that's coming in a few months! I get compliments on the color very frequently at the pump - not exactly a reason to spend the extra bucks on the option, but it does make my day every time.
How has it held up so far? I just got 2023 one and it's as awesome as you described and it my first new car as well and didn't expect to go Hyundai but don't regret it one bit. But I am curious about long-term usage and figured you would be the person to ask.

Coming here from your 2010 Hyundai Equus "What is luxury?"-review. That's a decade of development in which Hyundai/Kia have jumped to the top of basically every class they compete in. Right now, I own two Hyundais and I am convinced that the Koreans offer the most balanced choices considering quality, performance and price for the very most car buyers out there.
Wow is that a hyundai 😯 the engine sounds really good and it looks a lot of fun to drive. How the engine revs really seems like a tuned car, non typical for a mass production car. Well done Albert, your on the right way 😎
@@adiosm57 this is a totally new engine theta 3. I have had 2 theta 2 engines. One 2.4 200 hp and one 2.0T with a stage 2 tune 93 octane 345 hp 390 ft lbs and had zero issues except one time i went into limp mode and the wastegate actuator had to be fixed. 150 bucks. Never broke down. Never left me stranded. The cars that break are the ones that are beaten on and dont get regular full synthetic oil changes every 5 k miles. I also changed the coolant every 50 k miles. Its called preventative measures and maintenance. The theta 2 had a open deck design which had small oil passages near the head bolts. It caused oil to get hot and prematurely break down. If you got the good synthetic and changed it normally and let the turbo and engine circulate the oil for 1 to 2 minutes after heavy use it would be fine. People just beat the hell out if them and wondered why they were melting the blocks.

I got mine in black about 2 weeks ago and have been thoroughly loving it! My first foray into Hyundai was an '02 Sonata GLS, loved, loved that car; put 205K on it before it was totaled in an accident. After seeing a different trim package of this new model on the road a few months ago I was unable to keep myself away from their website building different cars. Found one locally and got froggy on a weekend and went and tested it. I had to have it and I'm not sorry one bit.
The fact that you can get something like this completely kitted out, and with a 10 year warranty for under $35,000 is absolutely amazing. I can fully understand why there are no other interior color options, and why the option list itself is so limited. This is really the only way that they can turn out a low production number vehicle like this. We've seen the same thing with the Subaru WRX STI, Mitsubishi Evo. It's impossible to offer a wide variety of bespoke color options on niche vehicles with a small range of prospective customers. I'm just glad that they went to the trouble of even making it.

Even adding AWD compatibility adds weight and cost. That is what kills the new Mazda 3. Making room for that drive shaft adds a few pounds, a few dollars, and takes away a few cubic inches. These economy cars don't need AWD and couldn't slot in to the entry level performance market if they had it. If you want AWD get a Genisis and don't complain about the higher cost of the feature you want.
@@emptyshirt Idk, its still too early to see how well the new Mazda 3 will sell. AWD is now all the craze, imagine a Camry/Corolla with AWD or the Accord/Civic, junk Subaru would be non existent. If Honda/Hyundai/Toyota put AWD in their sedans, nobody would buy their luxury brand sedans. No AWD in economy cars = Higher profits from CUVs and luxury lines. Subaru and Mazda are the only two Japanese car companies that do not offer a luxury brand, so they put AWD into their shitboxes. Notice how the Altima only offers AWD in the base model? Shit money tactics by the Americans/Asians.
@@kingchakazulu7762 The Camry does have AWD, but it isn't on the TRD for some reason. Actually, the TRD is maybe the closest competitor to this Sonata, that or the Maxima. I think leaving AWD out of sporty cheap sedans has a lot to do with the higher price and acceleration cost of adding AWD. AWD doesn't help with dry pavement performance at this level, and these cars are oriented toward dry pavement performance at a price point. You are right about luxury features being left out of entry level cars, but AWD is different from features like memory seats or heated steering wheels because it can't easily be tacked on next model year if it is trending. That is beside the point though.

Kudos to Mr Biermann and the team for making this happen. A vehicle like this in this day and age could be a "courageous" decision for someone's career, especially if it was coming out of Michigan and didn't have the magic "H" letter. As always, excellent work, M.
I've owned Hondas (1990 Prelude), Toyotas (Tercel, 2000 4Runner, 2007 Sienna), 1998 Isuzu Rode and a 2000 BMW 328i. In 2017, I traded my 14 year old 4Runner and 11 year old Sienna for a new 2016 Sonata Hybrid and new 2018 Santa Fe Sport 2.0 Turbo. Both Hyundais are super vehicles...I bought the hybrid knowing my son would be getting his license a few years later and, at 41 mpg, this would be good for his budget. The handling of the Sonata hybrid is underrated - I LOVE the acceleration, especially in sport mode. My wife drives the Santa Fe so last year I got another vehicle for myself, knowing my daughter will be getting that one in 2 years. She likes her mom's car, so I got a 2017 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T Ultimate (only 35k miles). So, what I'm saying is I've become a believer in Hyundai vehicles. This N Line is awesome...it is too soon for me to justify buying another car now but when my daughter gets her license in 2 years, this car will definitely be on my short list of options. I do tend to buy my cars loaded and keep them for a long time - interestingly, the BMW was a car I kept for only 4 years and it is the one I miss the least. It was a smooth driving rocket capsule and I did a couple of things to it that turned heads but some minor things bugged me: the power window motor on the passenger side died (it was rarely used) and the rubber gasket around the passenger side door fell off) I never had such issues with my Hondas, Toyotas, Isuzu or Hyundais. Turned me off to BMWs, really.
Here's my dilemma - love the engine, performance and all the interior technology gadgets, but to me, the exterior look of the Kia K5 appeals to me more.
They are basically a twin, since the underpinnings are identical. I find hyundai being more reserved and stately in terms of styling, while the Kia is more aggressive and dynamic. Can't go wrong with either one. Choose the one that appeals to you and you are getting a same machine for the most part.
I fully disagree as I think the K5 looks completely over styled, that chrome strip that goes circular around the top of the car is awful and the rear end it’s just terrible with the dash dash taillights. Not for me. But hey everyone’s entitled to their opinion
Have you driven in any major US metro area lately? You can't enjoy your manual trans sports coupe if you are completely boxed in by Chevy Traverses and Nissan Rogues. Reliance on cars kills the enjoyment of driving. I would like to upgrade my base model 2019 Civic with a manual trans to this Hyundai, but I can't reasonably throw half of my savings at a fast car when 99% of the time my basic Civic is fast enough. I might just get a basic Elantra in a couple of years and try to sell my Civic before demand for ordinary manual cars finally vanishes.

I actually was an installer of those ‘badge and stripe’ packages. A new car dealer I spoke to lately said he believes that marketing will emerge again. Ford, GM Ram are all adding vehicle specific graphics at the factory if you notice in their certain models of new pickups. A resurgence of vinyl graphics, I believe is in the works for trucks in the aftermarket. Graphics made a huge resurgence starting back in around 2005 on many mustangs, camaros, charger, challenger. In fact, I have been very busy doing vinyl graphic installations on those models for over a decade now.

I bought a Santa Fe 2013 2.0T brand new, didn’t had any problems at all with it, it still run like brand new, the little 4 cylindres is so wonderful, when driving like a regular citizen it’s not bad at all on the fuel mileage, tho you got to keep in mind that it still a S.U.V., so a bit heavyweight and not the better aerodynamic, surely the roads are always changing levels but I often saw the info give me a 8,7 /9,2 on the fuel economy at 100 km/h, and if you need to pass someone or go somewhere in a hurry, this thing transforms itself a kinda Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde’s, I have race in a roll- on to get on the highway with a Mustang 5.0, ( I know some are gonna yell it was a automatic ) so what ? My S,U.V. too, and it’s still a S.U.V. vs a supposed sports car !, and he never got in front of me, and believe me he’d really try, if you had saw him eating the steering wheel, he was definitely giving it all, and to see that a S.U.V. with a little 4 cylinders turbo, that’s more than often driven by old peoples, was keeping up with him in his sport car with a V8, the sun had just set down and it was beginning to get black, and I could still see the face of the driver it was so red he was almost glowing in the dark, and I also hold on my own against some Jeep grand Cherokee with the V6 who as 290 HP, so it mean that a grand Cherokee V6 is also gonna beat a Mustang with a V8 5.0. And before buying my Hyundai I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd 2003 and I don’t regret anything, the Jeep was a bit more luxury, but at more than 20,000$ of difference, it’s better be something more, but for the difference between themes 20,000$ ???? Never theirs no way to justify the 20,000$ more, absolutely no way, going on my 8th years, and seriously I still love it like when I bought it, I never had a véhicule in my life, that I could had say that it’s the first time I see this, seriously for me to want to change my Santa Fe ????,,,,,, it would take something dramatic, that I couldn’t not change, because sure every year they.had something here and there, but mine is still looking awesome for my tastes in the styles, it still drive like a new , it’s performance enough when needed ( sure we always want more, but it’s enough anyway) it’s AWD for the winter, it’s very comfortable, big space, seriously it’s the best of everything, maybe it isn’t the best in any departments but all togethers at the end he has the highest score in my book. 👍👍👍👍 And if someone had told me that I would buy a Hyundai brand new, 20 years ago, I would had laughs so hard that I would have piss myself.😂😂

For all of us that are looking for reliability and low maintenance cost, this is a great option, something that Toyota forgot a decade ago. I'm really thinking about a Hyundai product for my next purchase.
This is my 5th Hyundai vehicle! Bought a new Sonata tonight ans LOVE IT!!!!
I work at a hyundai dealer (in finance) and didn’t even know this car was coming out. Needed tires on my avalon and decided to walk the lot. This caught my eye and i took it for a drive just because it was a slow day. I was blown away. This is a hidden gem (for now). Was able to get it for just over 28k with hyundai circle pricing (dealer employees). This i a LOT of car for just under 35k msrp. A total blast to drive!
I bought the 2020 sel plus and have no regrets. Hyundai is sooo underrated.
I have the same for about 10 months and loving it...but that N Line looks incredible
This car is above and beyond your SEL. Go for a test drive
@@Warrior11117 really? you think it's worth giving up the tech? I am asking because i am trying to decide on the N or the SEL

You drive this vehicle with spirit, looking to see how far you could go with it and really gave it a chance instead of bashing it from the jump. Thank you for that...
I’ll take one in that Yellow color!

Yes, would have added to the car but would have pushed the price to a point where it would impact the commercial viability of the whole project.
If it was AWD, I wouldn't be on the fence, I'd order one. I wish Subie had a larger performance vehicle.
Like that it has port and direct injection.

I'll buy one......
Lightly used in a couple years... but I'll be buying one
But I will buy a fully loaded Sonata N Line now.
Here's my dilemma - love the engine, performance and all the interior technology gadgets, but to me, the exterior look of the Kia K5 appeals to me more.
then wait for K5 GT
They are basically a twin, since the underpinnings are identical. I find hyundai being more reserved and stately in terms of styling, while the Kia is more aggressive and dynamic. Can't go wrong with either one. Choose the one that appeals to you and you are getting a same machine for the most part.
Me too. I think the K5 performs just the same as the N Line. The K5 is nicer looking on the outside.
Hello Mark. I agree and I can't deal with that steering wheel on the N Line.
I fully disagree as I think the K5 looks completely over styled, that chrome strip that goes circular around the top of the car is awful and the rear end it’s just terrible with the dash dash taillights. Not for me. But hey everyone’s entitled to their opinion
We sold all our incoming units before they even hit the ground. It’s an awesome car.
Sad but true. Love of cars and driving is going away. All we seem to want now are cargo boxes with a lot of tech
Long live the MX5 (or miata if you please)

I have to agree with you. I'm getting a hybrid instead although N line is cool. Hybrid also got multi link in the back.
we have a hybrid 2015 hyundai, make sure you get full coverage and extended from the dealership cause if anything malfunction or breaks, they wont fix it, dealership makes more of its money from services
@@Jamie-jz1ud which country are you in? I cannot speak for other countries, but nothing to worry in the States. We have 5 yr/60k miles bumper to bumper, 10 yr/100k miles powertrain warranty including all electric components from Hyundai. And HEV battery is lifetime warranty for 1st owner.
I have a deposit on one now, but in color of Stormy Sea (dark blue). It was the only one coming up to my dealership in the next 90 days, and I beat out 4 others that wanted it by putting my deposit down first. The lease on my 2018 Hyundai Elantra Sport w/DCT, and premium package is expiring, so worked out perfectly.
I owned a 2013 and 2015 Sonata. Enjoyed them both but 2.0 accord stole my heart so I went to Honda.
How's the ride and comfort between the 2 honda and sonata?
This sonata n line will smoke your accord 2.0
@@bradleyscarreviews I don’t race. I’m just thankful to Jesus for all that I have. BE safe out there!
@@bradleyscarreviews I doubt it. The accord figures are very conservative on paper. I'd like to see the Sonota N, Kia K5 GT go against the 2.0T accord.
ua-cam.com/video/P0Plz4XVVpk/v-deo.html New Video Released today comparing them :)
Thanks so much for your time and effort!
Very professional way to introduce this beautiful car ! Learning more information.
And I bought one over month ago, had so much joy ! And appreciate very much for all the people who part of this beauty !
Still can’t believe this car has all the cool stuff but with the best deal!
Unfortunately, it's FWD so that's a NO-NO for a lot of people
BIG POINT THAT NO ONE REALIZES, FWD in the weather ESPECIALLY snow is sooooo sketchy
They badly need a awd car
@@calebrobinson8854 You're kidding. FWD beats the tar out of RWD in snow. I've fishtailed and spun enough old RWD stuff in the snow to know this for a fact. Is AWD better than FWD in weather, sure.
What would you prefer to drive between this and a (used) Q50?
What a Ford Fusion could have been
Buy used fusion sport which is faster.
Fusion Sport had a 2.7 EcoBoost and was faster.
@@trent7080 the sonata n line is just as quick as the fusion sport. If not a little quicker.
Does this one catch fire too even when not driven? (Australian recall of Tuscon Feb 2021)
Well done, Hyundai!
This engine should be offered on the Palisade/Telluride.
It’s in the Kia Sorento 21
@Thor Odin son -- it would be a matter of upgrading components. The one thing that has deterred me from giving up my old but trusty V8 Borrego for either a Telluride or Palisade is the wimpy engine. I test drove both and they just feel like a wimpy minivan engine. I do a lot of trail/camp/off road, which I sometimes doubt either of these two can handle. I was hoping KIA brought the newest Mohave to the US bit that's not gonna' happen. In the meantime, i'll keep my Borrego until either H/K bring something off-road worthy.
