Bravo Hyundai!!! Many of us still want cars!! N Line will be cool, I like that they will be doing the dual injection system. We currently have a 2015 Elantra Limited but will be looking to up grade in a year or two.
@@halivette Yeah, Hyundai will be taking a huge hit in profits this year. They decided to ramp up their factory to a high percentage of cars again in Korea and they sent them to the US; however, they are all stuck at port authority since no dealerships are moving enough cars to take delivery of new ones. Really unfortunate risk that they took.
I am loving the view IN THE DASH of the rear view when you put your lane changers on! We may have to test drive this car after a 2020 Accord now! Lease on our current car (2017 Buick Regal AWD Turbo) is coming up in June -- perfect timing!!!!

I'm going to buy a Genesis G70 or Sonata Limited this week. It would be the Sonata if it had the 2.5 Turbo. I hear the electronics on the G70 will be upgraded for 2021. Sonata pros: Price, electronics, panoramic sunroof. Sonata cons: Weak engine, FWD G70 pros: Performance, RWD, interior. G70 cons: price, outdated electronics. Decisions, decisions.
Just traded my 2019 Kona Ironman (yes I actually bought a Kona Ironman) for a new 2020 Sonata Limited. My other car is a 2020 Genesis G90 5.0 HTRAC and this Sonata is closer to the $80,000 G90 than you might think. Love them both. Of course I loved the Kona Ironman UNTIL the novelty wore off and keeping the matte gray paint clean became a real pain. Anyway am very happy with the Sonata Limited and I would highly recommend it. Mine is exactly the same model as is shown in the video except different color exterior - Stormy Seas (Blue) and Camel Leather.
I’m actually thinking of getting a Sonata. I like the design and I need a vehicle that’s easy to get into. If ford had kept the Taurus I’d be looking at that but this rush to sell only SUV’s was a mistake in my book. Just not sure if the folks who bought a Hyundai are pleased with the product. Any opinions you would like to pass along will be appreciated.
Was a little surprised you didn't mention the rear mirror look in the dash when you signaled for a lane change. That was a pretty cool feature (along with the auto back up and forward!)

@1:15 - 195lb ft of torque instead of HP? And the new CVVD 1.6 turbo comes with port injection along with direct injection too? I thought only the 2.5 has that feature. Anyhow, love your channel, it touches on details and photos many other channel doesn't. Would love your channel to touch on this 1.6 turbo engine in details in another video perhaps?
Thank you, sir. Both engines have the same fuel delivery system, hence the name 'Smartstream' on both. The one key difference - other than output - with the 2.5 Turbo in the N is that engine does go into Atkinson Cycle at any point.
Motoman, have you heard of any issues with GDI engines? I've seen problems with dirty valves after not many miles due to recycling engine gases. Please look into it and, if possible, explain what, if anything, can be done.
Very appealing vehicle. But I couldn't agree more about the push button transmission control. Such push buttons and equivalent dials are often justified as "saving space" but the "space" saved is minimal or non-existent and can be utilized only if one could somehow magically suspend objects in the air above the controls.
The numbers. Have a look at this episode . . . Pay particular attention to the clips that show the real numbers from the OEM directly that show the contrast in sales figures and PLAN FIGURES. @@MotoManTV IF they start making exciting ICE cars again though sedan sales will climb, there are plenty of people like me waiting . There is a reason I still drive a 2006 Sonata LX , one of the last of the great solid V6's for sale at a great value. This 2020 Sonata is the first to make me "want" to upgrade if I like it in person and after a drive. 2006, 2011 and 2020 are critical years in the Sonata story line. I have a feeling 2020 will be just as solid as my 2006 coming off the Theta 2 disaster and all new platform, engines , transmission and technologies of a new assembly line in Alabama. Just like in 2006.
The top three selling vehicles in the US are trucks. Face facts, compact sedans simply aren't very practical vehicles, and the trunks are far less useful and with modern computer design aren't necessary for aerodynamics. A Rav4 can simply do so much more than this vehicle can. Snow? No problem. Flood? Fuggedaboudid. Bad roads? No problem. Camping? Done. Buying a chest freezer at Costco? It fits with seats down! Tow a motorcycle or jetskis? Absolutely.
@@BoopSnoot That again supposes one want that. In each family there is room for ONE SUV that can carry crap. The other vehicles can easily be Sedans or hot hatches. Not everyone likes trucks/vans or SUVs. Its what gets produced that sells. Lets appreciate the sedans come back .
@@tombyrne6433 Hot hatches are popular too, again because the hatchback fits way more than a sedan trunk. I have a Fiat 500T that I removed the rear seats from, installed a flat floor, and it was able to haul two boxed shop tables from Walmart in it and another trip I filled it up with 15 bags of mulch, even had the suspension sitting low. Demand drives the market, not the other way around. The sedans aren't "coming back", and I think sales numbers will prove that true next year as I doubt Hyundai will sell many of these whereas I predict the recently redesigned Ford Escape and Explorer, Chevy Tahoe and Equinox, Subaru Forester and Outback, Rav4, and the big 3 pickups will dominate. Unless there's another major middle-eastern war, with the downturn in the Chinese economy, fuel prices are likely to remain low.
Tried it in both but you may have noticed over the past year or so, have not really spent a lot of time on camera testing between sport and regular modes if the test subject does not have adjustable dampers. Yes, the steering and throttle mapping changes a bit in a case like this but not enough for us to spend time talking about it.
...you had me at the (Kurkuma/Futra) yellow one in the intro; bold color choice for Hyundai. Cars may not be dead, but they seem to drive that way. I want a true sports version. Shove the Veloster-N motor in it, give 3 pedals and make it a true sporting car that offers the drive a real sense of driving. If Mazda says "feel alive"; then Hyundai should go with "enjoy the drive". Give us some feeling , some emotion, some sense of (road) connectedness, not isolation. Will there be a wagon?
Domestic brands have dropped the sedans but the Asians are all in. Yes sedan sales are well down but they still sell hundreds of thousands of them so it’s far from dead . Looking forward to the 2021 Kia Optima.
I do not see the point of the buttons to move the car back/foward. I have Hyundai Elantra that has 2 faulty keys, leave it in your pocket and there is a chance the trunk might open unwanted. I blame this on the shape of the keys and it might have been fixed already, but Ibdo not understand why Huyndai would take such a liability gamble for a feature that is probably not necessary in the US. I can see this having some US in other parts of the world were parking in tight spaces is more common, but I did not see the rear view mirrors folding automatically. Also I will need to understand more how this tech works, do you need to stand right next to the door or do you only need to be within wireless range for this to function?
Tried this from a couple of different distances and from what I experienced, one needs to be standing right near the car. Figure right at the front or right at the back is the farthest away I was able to get it to work in my time with the car. That said, it's not meant to used while you are in your kitchen making breakfast.
"An ordinary, run-of-the-mill, 4-door sedan, car." Except these are no longer ordinary or run of the mill. CUV are ordinary run of the mill. And I'm entirely sick of them.
It would be unfair of me to make a comment about the road/wind noise as I had cameras attached to the outside of the car that create a lot of wind noise on their own.
I'm not really interested in Hyundai vehicles, but the N line, tech, and power are too much to not look at. Hope interior isn't all hard plastic and glossy black.
Open to it but the numbers to back up that claim. As you know, I am a massive Dave Ramsey guy and love good value. Also huge on tech - especially when it makes its way to affordable cars. Here's an example: ua-cam.com/video/SXK3I9PPuH4/v-deo.html . . . But the episodes that continually do well for us are BMW, Mercedes (AMG in particular) and yes, Porsche. Would love to feature more EVs or unique stuff like this (ua-cam.com/video/6AgjNsCYKRk/v-deo.html) that is cheap and cheerful but you guys just don't watch it or share it enough to make it financially feasible. Hyundai is fine if you plan on keeping for 1 to 3 years, but if your in for the long haul it will be falling a part by 36k, I bought a new 2013 Hyundai Azera Limited no major issues at first but I did have alot of issues with wheels clear coat flaking off 4 new sets of wheels in first 60k, tail lights filled with water 2 times, fog lights constantly burning out, ac vents and speedometer screen cracking from heat in summer, trim on steering wheel and dash clear coat falling off just to name a few things and by the time I hit 43k the cam phasers failed after 2 times repairing and 4 months later they put in a brand new engine ended up costing Hyundai over $12k after 2 repairs and new engine. I stuck it out for a while no issues but later had about 18k on new engine exhaust cam phaser failed I ended up trading it off. Its sad to buy a car for $37k and not even make it 4 years without major issues only worth $10k when I dumped it. I should have bought a new Camry for $27k or a Lexus ES350 for 38k drove it for 10 years and not have had a single issue. Lesson learned.

Bravo Hyundai!!! Many of us still want cars!! N Line will be cool, I like that they will be doing the dual injection system. We currently have a 2015 Elantra Limited but will be looking to up grade in a year or two.
I wont be suprising if hyundai and kia all of sudden rise their pricing at some point.
They're kicking toyota and nissans ass.
Not with Corona around
@@halivette Yeah, Hyundai will be taking a huge hit in profits this year. They decided to ramp up their factory to a high percentage of cars again in Korea and they sent them to the US; however, they are all stuck at port authority since no dealerships are moving enough cars to take delivery of new ones. Really unfortunate risk that they took.
Great video! Cheers from Brazil.
I am loving the view IN THE DASH of the rear view when you put your lane changers on! We may have to test drive this car after a 2020 Accord now! Lease on our current car (2017 Buick Regal AWD Turbo) is coming up in June -- perfect timing!!!!
First time viewing of this channel and pleasantly surprised, great commentary , fantasticly informative . One of the best on the net
Did anyone see the RHS blindspot camera view in the tachometer when MotoMan merged back into the right? Why hasn’t Audi or BMW ever done this feature!
Great trick . . . they also do it in the Palisade.
I like the new Kia Optima more but this is beautiful as well.
New Optima released in SouthKorea this week. You wil be surprised if look at new Optima 2020.
@@carrotpig1977 I'm going to wait and see if a gt version comes out
@@carrotpig1977 you mean 2021 Kia Optima
The new optima (K5) doesn't have as many features and is lower material quality

Nice color scheme in that interior 👍
100% agree with you Motoman sedans are still alive.. i Don't agree that manufacturers should change USB to USB-C as 90% of market devices use regular old USB except for some phone and products.. I'm actually glad they kept it.. most phone charger cable even comes that way
Fantastic sonata, ever
I am waiting... for this car
You can tune and control the volume on the steering wheel. You don't have to touch the screen while driving.
Where is the rear sunshade? Please bring it back Hyundai. Is it optional?
another take (IMO) an affordable Audi without the maintenance
I love this car❤️
I'm going to buy a Genesis G70 or Sonata Limited this week. It would be the Sonata if it had the 2.5 Turbo. I hear the electronics on the G70 will be upgraded for 2021. Sonata pros: Price, electronics, panoramic sunroof.
Sonata cons: Weak engine, FWD
G70 pros: Performance, RWD, interior.
G70 cons: price, outdated electronics.
Decisions, decisions.
Just traded my 2019 Kona Ironman (yes I actually bought a Kona Ironman)
for a new 2020 Sonata Limited. My other car is a 2020 Genesis G90 5.0
HTRAC and this Sonata is closer to the $80,000 G90 than you might think.
Love them both. Of course I loved the Kona Ironman UNTIL the novelty
wore off and keeping the matte gray paint clean became a real pain.
Anyway am very happy with the Sonata Limited and I would highly
recommend it. Mine is exactly the same model as is shown in the video except different color exterior - Stormy
Seas (Blue) and Camel Leather.
Saw one in person. Front end is very handsome. The rear looks hideous though
I totally agree, the back end threw me off... thats the only reason i didnt buy.. i just couldnt picture myself looking at it daily.
Ish glad I’m not the only one!!
@motoman- love the reviews and engineering detail! Also, the kids cheering during options game is always a hit 🙌🏾
:)
It looks like the light color panels in the dashboard are reflecting pretty obnoxiously in the windshield.
Who listens to the radio if they have the infotainment package..?
I’m actually thinking of getting a Sonata. I like the design and I need a vehicle that’s easy to get into. If ford had kept the Taurus I’d be looking at that but this rush to sell only SUV’s was a mistake in my book. Just not sure if the folks who bought a Hyundai are pleased with the product. Any opinions you would like to pass along will be appreciated.
Why Hyundai doesnt release those models in Europe???
Looking at this video, kinda doubtful on German premiums,,, I guess we are paying for their margins and high labor costs... rather than actual value.
Best review specially the time he takes to explain the pricing options.
I'm strongly considering leasing this as my first car in the Stormy Sea blue with the Camel interior shown in this video
Was a little surprised you didn't mention the rear mirror look in the dash when you signaled for a lane change. That was a pretty cool feature (along with the auto back up and forward!)
Why talk about it when I *demonstrated* that feature multiple times throughout the episode?
Do you sell a 2020 Hyundai sonata diecast model car scale 1.18 am looking for one i been looking everywhere i can't find one i hope you sell diecast model cars
Whats the real world fuel consumption difference between a v6 camry and a v6 Kluger ie Highlander? That would be interesting to know. Also how much faster is the Camry that the SUV.
You pointing out the hunt and peck as an in city negative may have just unsold me on the Sonota n line and single-handedly ruined my weekend 🤦🏻♂️😂 idk how I never thought of a quick 3 point turn as something that would be a problem. Im coming from a manual though so that’s probably why. I was just thinking ‘now I’ll have a manual for weekends and a daily DCT’. Not I’m thinking I’m screwed.
How do find out about the N-Line? Definitely might be interested in that one. Love how these are looking for the price.
Why it's not releasing in Australia ?
Ok.. I've been plannig on getting this car. Is there seriously no tranmission stick? It's just buttons?? No paddle shift? Kind of a game changer...
Like I fell in love with the sonata recently (lyft rental) but buttons for trans??? Gross
Motoman, have you heard of any issues with GDI engines? I've seen problems with dirty valves after not many miles due to recycling engine gases. Please look into it and, if possible, explain what, if anything, can be done.
Haven't heard of a single one
12:21 you have the power specs reversed. 180hp/195 torque.
Very appealing vehicle. But I couldn't agree more about the push button transmission control. Such push buttons and equivalent dials are often justified as "saving space" but the "space" saved is minimal or non-existent and can be utilized only if one could somehow magically suspend objects in the air above the controls.
I’d like to know who said cars were dead in the first place 🤔
The numbers. Have a look at this episode . . . Pay particular attention to the clips that show the real numbers from the OEM directly that show the contrast in sales figures and PLAN FIGURES. These are not made up. There are the facts. Pains me as well as I am car guy. ua-cam.com/video/nEn_cIeKzCQ/v-deo.html
Do you have to follow the car as it does self-parking? That looked weird.
Sadly, yes.
FYI... Those knobs on the dash you said are ‘volume’ knobs are actually the heat/ac/heated seat controls.
Go back and watch that segment again . . .
Nice car and a nice review
Interior is kinda good
I like it
I hope Hyundai/Kia will replace the current 2.0L 4 cylinders of the Kia Stinger with this new 2.5L 290Hp engine.
can wait to get this car
Were you in sport mode the whole time? Does it have one?
Will there be a wagon?
the only down thing about them is to loud inside the car, they need better sound canceling
Domestic brands have dropped the sedans but the Asians are all in. Yes sedan sales are well down but they still sell hundreds of thousands of them so it’s far from dead . Looking forward to the 2021 Kia Optima.
I dont know anyone that uses a cars navigation. If they could make one that uses Waze and it updates for free would be awesome
#hyundai lovers 😍😍
Wow nice!
I love everything about the car. The only part I don't like is the REAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every time you hit an expansion crack it sounds like a sub woofer booming.
"An ordinary, run-of-the-mill, 4-door sedan, car."
Except these are no longer ordinary or run of the mill. CUV are ordinary run of the mill. And I'm entirely sick of them.
Did you notice a problem with excessive wind noise, as commented on by other reviewers?
It would be unfair of me to make a comment about the road/wind noise as I had cameras attached to the outside of the car that create a lot of wind noise on their own.
Thank you, fair point.
Pls make that steel strip black in N ljne
I'm not really interested in Hyundai vehicles, but the N line, tech, and power are too much to not look at. Hope interior isn't all hard plastic and glossy black.
They offer a v6? other wise good day!
What a nice car!
The car looks great but that 1.6 l turbo is a game Ender
I got a Toyota ad while watching this.
Is there any other product in the world that charges a 'destination fee'?
Only cars. They got us again!
You'll gain more viewers with these "regular" car reviews.
Who says SUVs aren't regular?
Open to being wrong here . . .
@@MotoManTV you are either well respected reviewer for the rich or for those of us who like to learn more about craftsmanship and beatiful cars ))). In any case, I personally enjoyed watchong Camry (all three episodes) and Avalon series as these were absolutely new models. I like this car and the Honda Accord 2015 2016 ex l
Geez! That's a bad experience. On the other hand, I have a 2013 Sonata with 103K miles on it, and it is doing great! I had a leak on something related to the AC almost a year ago, it has been fixed and no issues so far. I live in Florida and I've no problems with heat ruining the car during Summer.
Something I've noticed on the road with this model is the left braking light seems to burn out on many Sonatas, replaced it two years ago and is good so far.
What do you drive now?
@@angelherg1997 Yeah it was pretty bad since I live here in Midwest and garaged nightly and I take extreme care of my cars most my past cars and trucks all have made it to the 250k mark without major issues
