1. My 1992 Miata is the most fun I've ever had going slow
2. You can launch the hell out of it when the light turns green, smack the rev limiter, and still be driving legally under the speed limit
3. Headlight go up. Headlights go down. Headlights go up. Headlights go down.
4. "I can't help you move; I drive a Miata."
5. Bone stock wheels, suspension, swaybars, etc. and it still rips corners

Not very good, it's a 90 NA, has a lot of miles, diffs welded and it was lowered like shit, but it's a nice project, I'll probably put another 1000 into it and make it a nice daily/tack car

I wrecked and totaled my Miata a couple of weeks ago. Like an absolute idiot, I let go off the clutch too fast and went down on the gas too hard on a wet rural road. After completing a 360-degree spin accros the pavement, I wound up in a ditch, and a tree finally stopped me. Crunch.
You're quite right when you say you're always smiling in a Miata. It was fun right up until the very end. I miss that darn little thing... Probably gonna get another one, eventually.

The only time I hate my miata is when I can't drive it because its in the middle of a mod. But when I can drive it, it's my slow little barista's car that I get made fun of by my euro friends for having. Then I just tell them that a new wheel hub is only 45 bucks and watch them cry.

A Miata is faster than my parents 2021 car
1. Fun car that isn't a taxi to your friends (now you can say, "I'd drive you, but I don't have any room")
2. If you're concerned about safety, get a roll bar
3. Buy a manual Miata, it's a blast to shift through notchy gears, I can't even imagine mine being an automatic.
I drove an NB for 14 years and loved everything about driving it. Afterwards, driving any other car just seemed to be a letdown, so I finally went out and got another NB and got my smile back. I'm going to drive it until I'm pushing up daisies!
Yup. That happened when I got a civic. Eventually went back to a Miata because the handling, while good on the civic, was not on the level of a miata.
Owned one for 6-7 years. It was a 95 soft top and probably the best used car I ever owned. Low maintenance and is nightmare free compared to my current project which is my 97 Eclipse GST that I'm 3 years deep with (still love her though). I'll leave this maintenance log here for those who are interested on what had to be done in those 6-7 years. Buy manual transmission so much more fun!!!!
Mods (that came from the previous owner): Full racing beat exhaust system, KGB adjustable suspension, and K&N high flow intake
Maintenance log:
Oil changes (duh)
Replaced top and bottom rad hoses and thermostat
Valve cover gasket
Wheel bearing which I took her to the shop for (about 400 bucks)
Spark plugs and wires
Some fuses here and there
That was it...
The car cost me 3k and was well taken care of by the previous owner. These cars are very very easy to work on and are great for people that want to learn how to work on their own car. I highly recommend doing the work yourself rather than getting absolutely donkey f@#@# at a repair shop. Parts are cheap as hell for these cars. Drove her from 100k to about 190k. Mainly short commutes and a few road trips here and there. How did she finally die? A car accident out of all things while I was on my way home from work one late afternoon. Do to the size of these cars, my Miata lost the fight and was completely totaled so be careful. A lot of people don't notice you until its too late..
I've got a 1995 Miata. I love this car, and if you want to get into cars I can't recommend it enough. And if you can drop a dollar or two on it, you can make it pretty damn quick.
Technically, if you look into the lore of Mazda and the word Miata... they're _technically_ God's Gift...

I remember this being one of the first videos I watched when I decided I was really interested in purchasing a Mazda miata. I had a 2017 Mazda Cx-3 & then decided that I need something that suits me better. I love cruising & I also love traveling. I wanted something fun. I really did my research on the Mx-5 & ended up purchasing a brand new 2019 Miata. It is everything & more to me. Definitely true that “you won’t be able to stop smiling” & “you’ll look away when Camaros & other muscle cars look at you” lol but it’s okay because i’m a female so I feel pretty badass in it 😂. I am now looking into air suspension & getting it wrapped + adding some cool new wheels & rims. I’m so excited. While some may say Miatas aren’t practical, I say that it actually is. When you’re someone who mainly rides solo it’s perfect. I fit all of my groceries in it perfectly as well. Love my car

I'm updating my 1997 Miata for this summer. 1.8l .5 over, 60. turbo @ 30psi, ms3x Diytune ecu, coilovers, braided FM brake lines, upgraded braking system, light weight rims, FM swaybars, and so much more.
Mine scrapes on leaves, has -18 degrees of camber and the license plate says "hairdrsr"... never had more fun breaking subframes and getting 100miles to a tire in my life

I’m 17 and bought a 92 Miata after my mom refused to buy a manual car as my first car. She bought me a ‘06 Mazda 3 hatch that is automatic. I saved up money and sold personal belongings and bought my Miata. I bought it with 122k on the dash and a limited slip diff for $850. I’ve owned it for about 8 months and it truly is the highlight of my day. Every time I get in and pop the headlights up I know I’m in for some fun.

Right now I'm 14 and really into cars. and for a year now I have wanted a NA Miata as my first (project) car. My dad has been in the car culture all of his life and made cars that have gone into car magazines. So me and him are going to work on the NA together. This is pretty accurate, I grew up as a die hard Mopar guy, the closest I ever cared for 4 cylinder cars was the turbo dodges of the 80's and early 90's. Then I worked with a guy that has a NA8. I initially made fun of his car because of what it was until he let me drive it. I instantly fell in love with the platform, it's slow but not to the point that it's miserable, and you can whip the wheel any way you want, as hard as you want, and the car will follow. Fast forward about a year and I bought my 1996 Miata. I daily it in the summer and still love it! It gets great fuel economy compared to the other junk in my stable, it's comfortable enough, and I've used it as a truck more than most of the office job dude-bro types use their 3/4 ton diesel pickups as trucks. Mine was stock when I got it but then suffered a blown head gasket (had a coolant hose burst on the highway that I didn't catch in time) so I built a hybrid NB engine (NB1 head, ported, on a NB2 shorblock) and now it's actually reasonably zippy compared to the 120someodd horsepower engine it has. Over the winter it's getting coilovers and 15x8s so I can finally push it harder in corners.
TL;DR - buy a Miata, even if you think they couldn't be possibly any more fun than your V8 muscle car

I can never stop smiling in my 91' BRG it is a little beat and has a rebuilt title but it was 2 grand and has 130k miles. Never gave me troubles. I do brakes and fluids myself. Such a fun little car.

After months of dailying a miata, I currently cannot wait to get rid of it. The size of the car has really gotten to me i guess, and I just yearn for something bigger once again 😂. The size didn’t bother me until after 4 or 5 months. Other than that, the car handles amazing, and its hilarious to wink at other miatas using our pop ups. Im glad the community is still alive for these cars and i feel like anyone who un ironically truly hates on this car is taking themselves a little too seriously

Personally, I have always smiled in my Miata, Besides the time when it was pouring rain and my entire drivers side floor was flooded and I had to drive like that to school with my feet absolutely soaked.
Other than that, I love my Miata over my 240 because of its simplicity.

I lived in Milwaukee for a couple years. Happened to move up there in the winter of 2013, which was the most brutal winter they'd had in decades. Everyone asked me why I moved from Florida to Wisconsin and I never had a good answer.

I can tell you all about the E46 BMW 😂 So many damn issues but a great car when you do the proper preventative maintenance. I just had my problems all at once but just have one engine code to fix and it’s perfect...I hope 😂😅
To "So you want to buy a MINI Cooper S (R52S, R53)", well it's already too late. The ones are in good shape aren't for sale (owners want to keep them) and those are for sale, most of them didn't get well maintained. So, in the end, if you buy a R53/R52S, it will be an expensive project.
