Donut Media is at the center of digital media for the next generation of automotive and motorsports enthusiasts. We are drivers, drifters, and car enthusiasts who love to tell stories. - Авто та транспорт
I believe that that the Money Pit Miata did more to build your channel than any other project save for maybe the Hi/Lo 350Z's. It's certainly why I subscribed in the first place.
true!
Big agree, I started watching around the same time and loved seeing all the things they were doing to the Miata. Then the Z's happened and it only got better, would love to see a return to money pit.
I was here way before the money pit. I miss the science garage!
Up to speed was their flagship show for a while.
@@carpartsduckfarts2089 duuuuuuude I forgot about science garage 😂. Pretty sure Barts with motortrend now actually.
We need another project car like the Miata! Honestly this series is what made me watch you guys, thanks for this.
@UCr7eE6FdZmJRb6HQHVC1gqg Miata is cuter
yassh, but i think youd have to watch another videos too so that, they can make more videos like this, you know what im sayin. money loll
I agree, he just bought an M3 E46 I hope they do some on it
The cabrio could go hard
Same.
I miss this series and this car. The in the driveway projects were grassroots and had an awesome appeal. Watching Jobe struggle and then drive the car with a smile on his face is what cranking on cars is all about.
for real, wrenching in the driveway made it seem real and doable, especially during the pandemic
After hearing Jobe talk about how he got ahold of the Miata, I think we need a "meet the hosts" video where each of you explains where you're from, what got you into cars, and what you've owned/how you got it. Could be a cool miniseries
Do this for famous car fans in general and you win more. Interview both UA-camrs and celebs alike.
These are both great ideas
Gosh, that's how long it's been since Money Pit started. You'd be pretty lucky to find an NA Miata that decent looking for $2300.
I literally was thinking the same thing
The clapped out rust buckets around Ohio go for $5k these days. It's crazy to think this was just a few years ago.
Used cars are hilariously priced now. I was looking at a beat up, 100K miles, 1990 S13 the other day that the guy was asking $18,000 CAD for.
@@iceman10129 Bro, 2012 Ford F150 King Ranch with 280,000 miles for $25,000. 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi 4x4, broken transmission, broken bed and rear axle, $4,500, and a 2015 Dodge Charger SXT WITH 180,000 miles for $35,000. All local listings in my area of South Texas.
i got my 92 miata for $800 this year, body is in great shape but the 1.6L is blown
I don't know if james, jeremiah & nolan read these, but I really want you to know that you guys have embodied a supportive car culture that's helped give me the confidence to start modifying my car. You are honest about the pain and the pay off of venturing into projects that have no clear instruction manual. After seeing you push through countless hurdles I started to realize I could do the same.
Now I’m looking at finishing a build for a 20 year Volvo with close to 500 BHP that had no clear guide on how to get there.... I guess what I’m trying to say is I’ll always rock my “give it the beans” air freshener long after the scent fades. Thank you to the entire team at Donut Media
cool story!
500hp Volvo? lol, why?
@@Boatfisherz1 thats why
@@Boatfisherz1 I think the question is, "why not?" 🤣
@@Boatfisherz1 why wouldnt you?
I know it's tough doing all of this in a home garage but the diy feel of doing all the work in your driveway really made the series both relatable and inspirational. The money pit E36 build hasn't felt the same with the shop and four figure pieces of equipment. Kudos to the Donut team for an awesome miata build and I hope wherever Eddie is he's doing well.
That what Hi / Low is for right now.. To give both examples... But i would love a middle ground as well... Like "High/mid/low" :D
Money Pit is pretty much the reason I got into cars. It normalised the fact things can go wrong, that the cheap way isn't always the right way, and gave me the confidence to get my own car and start taking ownership over it's maintenance. Thanks Zach, you're a legend!
Money pit was such a ride it made me want to buy a miata even though I had no interest in them before. Now I've bought one and I'm going to be working on it over winter.
sick
litterally the exact same thing, I bought a miata because of Zach haha
This series definitely bumped up the price of MX-5s a bit... Or Miatas in places where the steering wheel is on the incorrect side.
Me too, I got into cars with donut, my first one was the b2b on the lemans winning corvette, I launched into money pit and absolutely fell in love with the Miata, ask my friends it’s all I could talk about haha. That was summer 2020, 2 weeks ago I bought a Georgia’s 1.6 in white completely stock and I could t be happier
I'm actually shopping for a cheap Miata to build with my kid for his first car. Hes not getting a turbo though! I think its a great way to teach him how to wrench and fix stuff. Great confidence booster when you can see the improvements you made!
You guys are bringing up the new generation of car enthusiasts and I appreciate every one at donut for the hard work
I think the money pit miata is still my favorite series you all did. It is so authentic and relatable since most of it was done in a driveway. Props to Donut for starting this show. I am still loving the new content. Thanks!
We need a final track day video of you completing a lap now!
Money Pit Miata was the series that got me into pursuing being a mechanic for a living. I'm on my last year of school and did a lot of work in the summer and I'm loving every second of it. Thank you Zach and Donut Media.
Shouldve done mechanical engineering tbh
Soo how is the mechanic life treating you
This entire series was tremendous and I still rewatch episodes. Zack is a spectacular host and showing the challenges and even things that didn't work really give us an idea of how complex and challenging these builds can be. Editing was absolutely pro level and the entire team was amazing. What a legacy to have on the channel!!
I was here from the beginning of the build and it's crazy to see the end. A lot of people on here say it's the main reason they subscribed and I definitely agree.
After watching an episode with the Money Pit Miata, I was always motivated to go tackle my own repairs. Up to Speed is what brought me to the channel but the Money Pit Miata is by far the most entertaining and motivational segment on Donut. This channel makes me glad to be a car guy.
Zach's hair growth during this series was fun to watch too.
I love the subtle “I think you should leave” reference. “So the wheel does not fly off when I am driving”
"It's turbo time!"
Quite possibly the best money pit build.
Don't agree. I think this is crap.
@@witness1013 why
Out of all two of them?
@@fpvdominator9563 because I don't like womans cars.
@@witness1013 Begone, troll
I want to hangout with Jobe so bad, he’s honestly the coolest dude. So humble and chill, exactly what the car culture used to be.
Crazy that you guys summed up that series so quick and easy. My favorite series and watching the clips took me back to specific days. Thank you guys for uploading
So my son just got his first car and I turned him onto donuts videos. I want him to see the possibilities that are out there for different types of vehicles. It’s nice seeing him get excited with ideas for his car. I do all my own work on my vehicles and I’m hoping to get him comfortable to be able to do his as well. Your videos I truly believe will help with that. Thanks for what you all do!
Nice! What car he got? He has a great future with a parent like you
@@blackcat14077 07 Saturn Ion2 2.2 manual. Yes my children will learn to drive manual vehicles as well as automatics. We live in an area that has potential for a lot of snow so I want them to learn to use the vehicle properly (up shift/down shift) to help them maintain control in poor weather conditions.
Huge thanks from Miata owners everywhere!! Y’all helped me out a ton and I know I’m not the only one.
Bet ya we can build one faster! 😜
@throtl do it!
Ahhhhhh shhhhiieeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
You guys have a nice v10 sitting around at the shop don't ya? ;)
It should be on, come on donut
Miata and Honda content is probably the most lucrative on UA-cam. Still waiting for an autocross build!!!
This build brought me back to my teenage days of memorizing different cars out of 'Project Car Magazine.' I loved that you went step by step on an affordable car, so anyone could follow along if they really wanted to start learning. Zach Jobe seeming like a super approachable guy, made the project itself also seem very approachable. Really appreciate what you guys did for the community with this car.
Also, side note - When working on my B8.5 S4, Zach's videos for ECS were also straightforward and helpful! Keep it up guys!
Wrenching on your car, in your own garage is what brought me in. Hoping they get back to that is what keeps me.
I’m afraid since being bought by Recurrent, the ‘Golden Days’ of Donut is behind us 😢
@@DADnRN very true
Ever since u guys dropped the 1st episode of Money Pit on the Miata, I always had something to look for ward to watching other the the other series u guys made in this channel. I wish you guys would do another build in the near future as I believe a lot of us viewers either came here for that very reason or just enjoys a very chill vibe build. I know I had fun watching it very much. Cheers!
I've seen every single ep of this miata and it gave me so much more knowledge about how cars work. Love you guys❤❤
The Miata Money Pit episodes are some of my favorite content on your entire channel. Really enjoyed it and I hope you continue to do more.
Absolutely love the Miata, what a classy build! 😊
I really appreciated this episode. Thanks for all the time and effort y’all put into these.
Attention Donut Media. Please keep Jobe happy. I really like Nolan, James, and Jeremiah, but Jobe adds something else to your videos and branding that can’t be quantified. The Money Pit mini series was a huge success in my mind for your channel.
This was a great series! I have watched every episode at least 2-3 times, it is so fun because I own a Miata and your DIY videos have helped me a lot. My only request is a final track day video to compare the stock vs turbo times. Please!!!!!!!
you don't know how much helpful this is series is compared to other series (no hard feelings) especially helping me with my first build and there's alot more people that would agree!
3:20 Jeremiah with the I think you should leave reference I love it 🤣🤣 “if the steering wheel falls off while I’m driving I’m a TOAST”
I see you've read my book "How to Turn a $2,300 Miata into an $8,500 Miata for Only $25,000!"
In my *completely* unbiased opinion, OF COURSE it's worth spending $25k on a Miata 😁
especially for them where the youtube ad revenue likely brought that in 50 times over.
not really
Trying to figure out how I built a efr kraken setup for less than half the price of this cx racing build. Was the brake kit 15 grand?
+points for a GREAT steering wheel that doesn't whiff out of the window while you're driving / turbo time!
The Miata Money Pit series made me learn a lot, and also made the Pandemic less stressful, thank you Donut Media!
This was the reason I subscribed. I've watched many many more of your other videos, but to me this was your best series in your entire channel. I miss this Miata, I've learned a lot from this series that I've been doing my own upgrades and tweaks when I can to my NB. I think you should bring this series back with either a Miata NB or some other banged up popular (cheap)90's vehicle, like a Civic, a Golf, a Focus, something like that.
Loved the "I think you should leave" gag you snuck in there.
But its true, a great steering wheel doesn't fly of while driving.
You especially don't want it flying off while it's turbo time.
A great steering wheel that doesn’t fly off while you’re driving! That is a good idea!
Although I'm not an MX-5 fan, I loved watching this series, and it's the reason I subbed to the channel.
I loved that you showed when stuff didn't go right. So many videos make it look so easy. That's never the case when I work on my car, I always run into problems. It's great to see the struggles with your projects. Let's me my know I'm not alone when things go sideways.
You started this series just as I bought one as my first car. All the mods you've done have been awesome and the content imo built your channel a fair bit with this money pit series! Keep it up, 100% worth it
I learned I could do almost any maintenance task on Earth, with a UA-cam video and Harbor Freight trip, by watching this car get built.
Bring back money pit!!
Bring back high low!!!
Bring back everything that made donut go nuts!!!
Alternative title: Zach Jobe hair growth in 10 minutes.
This is exactly like ChrisFix’s experience with the Driftstang! But with a little of that ‘Donut’ style. Amazing!
Awesome. I’m glad to have watched the Miata’s journey since the air intake episode!
I love the “I think you should leave” reference when you were talking about the steering wheel mod 😂
This episode was super chill and interesting, thanks Jobe
Esse cara é um profissional de primeira
as others have said, money pit is what brought me in as a viewer. Another full series I due surely? 🥺
This Miata was the reason I started watching this channel. I’d love to see another series like the one on the Miata.
This is a very nice summary video, thanks for your hard work DonutMedia
I really hope to see more Money Pit projects. The rally BMW was fun, but the series was so short. And Hi-Low has had a similar problem. The 1st season was great, the trucks were awesome and then the engine swaps were cool, but there's only so much you can do with a car without repeating yourself. Would love to see Jerry do a similar thing with a bike maybe.
Yes please. Love these kind of videos, love the money pit miata.
Loved following the progress of the Miata!
This was such a good series. It has really made me want to get more into cars, especially a Miata
I love this series
Just something I don’t think is possible but I would absolutely love to see
Zz632 swapped miata
Just the idea of one makes me smile and if anyone could pull it off, it’s you guys
Keep it up and hello from almost exactly the other side of earth :)
Really enjoy Donut's content and Zach you are an awesome addition to the team bro! Really enjoyed all the Money Pit episodes. Maybe have them better sorted in the playlist, twas hard figuring out which episode should follow haha
The money pit miata series was my favorite series of the channel so far. It was an awesome start to finish guide on how to build a car. Not to take anything from the other fantastic series of this channel. Keep it up, love you guys 🤘
Great to see this whole build. Money Pit inspired me to buy my own NB miata and start wrenching on it. Owned it for 2 wondeful years, learnt a lot about cars, had lots of fun working on it and even more fun driving it. Did lots of not-totally-necessary stuff to it, but also got myself out of a few jams, including replacing a busted radiator on the miata (and then subsequently another car with the know-how I gained from working on the miata) and a failed clutch master/slave cylinder.
I've since sold the car, but my 2 years of owning her are forever happy memories. You just can't beat the feeling of rolling around town on a hot summer day with the top down
this is the content im here for 💯
Love the Miata. Turned out amazing.
I watched most of these. You guys do such a great job making entertaining and instructional videos!!. Keep up the good work. !!!
I absolutely loved watching this series and I hope you guys ramp up some more similar series in the near future. I was starting to modify my ‘13 Camaro 1LE for track work when money pit started. Seeing the struggles and rewards of going full DIY and testing on the track related big time to what I was doing as well.
You turned 25000 dollars into around 5000 dollars.
Facts
I would like to see the same series but with a today cheap car, maybe one that doesn't have a lot of aftermarket support and you have to work around some stuff and adapt pieces to make them work. Example: A MK1/2 Focus? Maybe? They're pretty cheap and ,here in europe atleast, they're everywhere, plus the engines are tanks they can take whatever if you treat them right
YES! More like this please. Love the new stuff.
This was a fantastic series. Would love to see more like this with just tons of episodes on an accessible v8 car like an old Mustang, Camaro.
Damn im never this late! I love y'all at donut!!! These videos is very inspiring and even tho im only 14 i still cant wait to get my drivers licence cus of u guys!
This was a great episode, to be able to review the entirety ov the videos in one. Supa fantastik.
Money Pit was probably the best series on the channel compared to all the other ones. actually learn something even if you don't own a Miata and Zach has the right amount of knowledge and sarcasm to host.
I love when you guys do cars anyone can afford.
The money pit miata is an all time favorite, thanks for bringing her back!
Please!!!!!!! Please please please make another build like this, it was the best series and the most relatable! Please another affordable street build!
I loved watching the Miata build and I will someday own one for myself because of it! Can’t wait for another season of money pit!
money pit is what caught my attention, best video series yet. simple and straightforward.
I’m a truck man but the money pit Miata got me hooked to donut and I’ve never missed an episode since.
Great and UNIQUE MIATA U DID IT DESERVES THE WORK !
Money Pit Miata and Jobe are what made me subscribe to the channel. It was the highlight of the week for sure.
When i subbed to the channel i was waiting each day for the miata videos, the miata is the legend of this channel, the mascot
Time for an NB2 Miata money pit
Oh the nostalgia of seeing a run down of all these great episodes
loved this series
Money Pit was and still is the greatest show Donut's ever put out.
This series single-handledly made me buy a miata after my first car got wrecked. I bought 10AE and im maintining it on my own inspired by your videos. Thank you guys for the smile it puts on my face everytime
Love this things interior, b4 and after
I love Money Pit. It gave me the confidence to work on my own Car in my Driveway.
First Time i changed my coilovers and exhaust myself.
This video series worked absolute wonders for my mental health during the pandemic. thank you so much
This was a great way to recap the Money Pit Miata! Very well done!
Bro lined his own wheels for an alignment just to teach homies on a budget. You guys deserve every sub you have
Loved this series. Would love another "street" car build like this.
I feel like Zach’s endeavours in Donut Media has easily captivated the audience with so many fascinating moments when doing project cars - from the Miata to the E36 - bringing in all forms of car enthusiasts in the building aspect of projects, expanding our knowledge and everything else in between. I can’t wait to see what the next Money Pit car will be … fingers crossed it’s an S2000
I loved Money Pit! Can't wait for a new one!
You have made my childhood, I don't think you understand the importance and impact you've made on me! I have a e90 328i project car that me and my dad are working on, thank you for your lovely commitment to the channel and the miata build.
We need more money pit episodes! The Miata is what kept me glued to your channel
Money pit has without a doubt been one of your channels biggest hits. It is the main reason I started watching DM and im sure many other people can agree.
