- Team Reptile’s homage to SEGA’s Jet Set series, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is out for PC and Nintendo Switch on August 18, 2023. It looks like a pretty fun time, mostly thanks to a solid movement system that lets players chain all sorts of acrobatic moves together to create some absolutely amazing stunts on inline skates, skateboards, and BMX-style bikes.
Furthermore, the cel-shaded art style and funky beats accompanying it all make it look like a proper throwback to Jet Set Radio. But for all its merits, it’s pretty important that players know everything about the game before they rush in to make a purchase. Really hope this ends up being good. Sega seems to have no interest in JSR, so I really hope this actually lives up to the hype. If so, I'll be picking it up for sure!

I'll know team reptile understood the assignment when before the main title screen boots up there's a "Graffiti is Art - however Graffiti to vandalize property is a crime" notice plays before the main theme
I have been waiting for this release. It blows my mind that Sega didn't just buy it from the devs and turn it into the next JSR game. Even the soundtrack has the original JSR composer.
Literslly just replace the characters with the GGs,slap DJ Professor K in there and bam it's a jet set radio game lol

Multiple mistakes in this video:
- In the last quarter of the video, the narrator says "Bomb Rush Cyberpunk" instead of "Bomb Rush Cyberfunk".
- Bomb Rush mode is no longer a mechanic, it was canned months ago.
- Team Reptile confirmed months ago that the game will be releasing on Xbox and PlayStation shortly after the Switch & PC release.
Do better, this video is heavily misleading for those who aren't in the community.

@@DarkEcho32 as a gaming news outlet you should be proof reading and fact checking all the time. This channel isn't some baby channel. They have over a million subs. It's professionalism. I think people gloss over this because it's video game news, but people go nuts when actual news channels spread misinformation. I don't think this person's intent was to bash them for the sake of bashing, but to point out their mistakes so they can do better in future videos. The pronunciation isn't to bad, but not being up to date on current affairs of a game you are reporting on is not good. People look to these kind of videos for factual and up to date information.

I have one question, is BRC getting an international release(NTSC, PAL and JP)? I'm asking because I can't wishlist it on the switch's German website.
I have 1 question, so there was supposed to be an option...to upload my own art, via a camera peripheral and link cable with the Dreamcast version! I think Japan had it, but it may have been cancelled...will there be an option, to do so in "this version" from save files in my system gallery? It'd be nice to, create custom characters the same way too!
brc is a spiritual successor made by a completely different company/team and not a new jet set so unfortunately thats probably not gonna be a known thing if its a thing at all
I’ve waited 20 years for a JSRF sequel and I’ve finally got it. I will buy the switch version day 1 and then again when it comes to PS5 IDGAF I need it
PS and Xbox have been confirmed for a hot minute, and Rush mode has been scrapped since last June. Do better research.

Very cool game. Funky soundtrack dope graffiti I wouldn't pay 40 bucks for the switch edition. I'll just wait for either the Xbox or the PlayStation 5 version other than that, It's pretty cool new version of the jet series 😎✌️👍

Yall need to chill,not everyone has space for digital games,and sd cards aren't cheap if you actually want a good amount of space;plus there's nothing wrong with wanting it physically,digital stores don't stay up forever,you don't always have internet access to download,and a lot of us just like having actual tangible goods
Likely after they find a distributor to partner with. I doubt it's a priority for them right now. Lethal League Blaze eventually got a physical version, albeit japanese only, so I'm optimistic. Got no problem importing again.

Just because it looks good doesn’t mean it will feel good to play, I love Jet Set Radio and THPS, but I’ve played enough clones to know that it’s rare for a game of this style to nail the controls and not feel either floaty or too heavy, this could be a massive flop.

Kind of frustrating you mention three modes of movement and one of them being inline skates while not showing any gameplay from inline skates and clearly showing the Fourth movement option which is free running.

Seem fun but the world seem very empty and no voice acting just some words and read what they are actually saying but I love the art style.

Why? You have no idea how it will feel to play, a game like this is reliant on feeling tight. Most extreme sport arcade clones end up feeling either too floaty or too heavy, you should wait for reviews instead of being guided by pure visuals and nostalgia.

Yea this is my big gripe too. I like some of the gameplay evolutions but I wish it was more cutting edge and innovative on the tech side.
I don't really see the issue with the art style. It looks like what jet set radio fans are already familiar with and like. If there was going to be an evolution of this art style I'd be expecting it from Sega, not an indie dev with an indie budget.

A game like this lives or dies based on its game feel, if it feels floaty in any way it’s doomed.
Do you remember how much the original JSRs were floaty? It sure was something you had to get used to.
Still, Team Reptile seem to have modernized the game feel so I'm not too worried.
