@@KenzGamesCollection they’ll keep spewing out sonic games that no one asked for out the hoo haa regardless if theyre bad or good but yet wont continue on JSR which is a franchise that fans have been asking for a continuation of for and could also make them money but i digress
This is really taking me back to better days watching this gameplay, can't wait to play it, and Sega really should be keeping an eye out for this one, it's been far too long since the last game in the series, heck even the remaster of the first game was more than 10 years a go now.
Yeah it’s been a very long time Simon, I really do understand Sega, they have some great IP’s they should bring back and JSR is definitely one of them. But at least we have Bomb Rush Cyberfunk to enjoy very soon. I can still play JSRF on my xbox360 with a little slowdown but that’s ok, it plays better on PC though
I still believe Sega will go back to the JSR series eventually. If Alex Kidd, Monkey Ball, Amigo, etc can return, then why not Jet Set Radio. Hell there's already a rumor (I think it was last year since it was posted) that Sega is planning to make a LAAS for Crazy Taxi n JSR (Which scares me depending I dont want them to fumble the events n store purchases). If they do a good job of making sure the events date are well placed and the stores aren't scummy, then I'll be playing the new JSR game all day. Plus Sega did recently said they are planning to do remakes n reboots for their ips so Jet Set Radio definitely got a big change, especially since there's already leaks of a new JSR so Sega has to know fans what a new JSR by now. Hopefully Bombrush Cyberfunk gets alot more attention so that it will just push Sega to realize that they still have a JSR fandom wanting for any new JSR content
I feel like its the music licensing thats gonna stop the JSRF remaster from ever officially happening. Maybe they could get a new set of composers to make an all new soundtrack for it?
This game looks really amazing and very polished, but I'm not really comfortable with indies copying old games this much. This is not iterating on other games, this is just copying others' work, almost 1:1. I think a more appropriate way to go about it is to take elements you really like from other games and coming up with concepts of your own. Umurangi Generation is great example of a game that's clearly influenced by Jet Set Radio, but does something completely different with the same vibe. I'll still check out reviews of this game if there's something I'm missing and the game actually does have a voice of its own, but currently it's looking like a hard skip and I'll probably reinstall Jet Set Radio instead.
I think Sega cant these type of games anymore because of two reason - They Dont want to risk it and get chewed on by shareholder - They dont have the idea and People to actually make these type of games because all of them are used to making the same Similar game over and over again
Why does it feel like sega trying so hard to deny the existence of JSR
It feels that way doesn’t it

Because it's not Sonic or pachinko it doesn't appeal to shareholders.

I would love a remaster of JSRF and I hope Bomb rush cyberfunk opens segas eyes and see’s that people are dying for a new or remaster of JSRF/JSR
I’m hoping that’s what will happen
I can’t wait!
Have you picked up the game yet on the EShop mate
This game is a better spiritual successor to jet set radio than balan wonderworld is to nights
That’s so true
I have a feeling this game will do super well and hopefully that shows sega how much people want JSR to comeback
I’m sure it will do very well, reviews has been very positive and it’s definitely my favourite game of 2023

Yeah I’m sure Sega would have a hard time trying to re-license the soundtrack for a re-release
This game is supposed to release augest 18th for pc and switch September 1st for others consoles
I hope it gets a physical release, I’m loving this game so much
who's gonna tell them footage of a new JSR game was leaked months ago alongside the persona 3 remake and early sonic frontiers footage
Yeah I’ve seen the 5 seconds of footage, only time will tell if it’s actually going to happen
Can’t wait
Not long to wait now
I think they got the original composer from jsrf to do the music
Yeah they did
Hideki Naganuma? Awesome!
