When my mum recovered from sepsis in her late 80s she went to rehab in UK.. they had her walking daily and playing games with other patients… she moaned but for that time she was able to think and walk great! She came home and wouldnt do anything for the carers .. that was her decline!! So I totally agree but feel sorry for those alone that just need a hand to steady them to be able 🙏 I’m trying too with having long covid .. if I don’t use it I’ll lose it ..

My mom died at the age of 94 and apart from being a follower of Christ and living her faith, she lived a good life. She's a daily drinker of coca cola since i can remember and her exercise was just doing household chores after coming home from work as an elem.grades teacher where she enjoyed teaching the little children up until she retired at the age of 60. She has no vices except for that soda :) She didn't have an intimate circle of friends also so her social life was not a contributing factor to her longevity. I believe we, her 5 children didn't give her something to be stressed about and i also remembered she just wanted us to be studious which we didn't fail her. We're grateful to God for lending us her beautiful life❤

"follower of Christ"? So she surely read the books from Him right? Have you read them too? If not, why? Are you one of THOSE who believe, for some strange reason, that God & Jesus went silent hundreds of years ago? Was your Mom one of those also? I'm not bashing your religion! I'm asking IMPORTANT human questions.....Do you think God can see the Huge mess that is the bible? Does God see this? How nobody understands it? How the only thing you can do with that book is form OPINIONS? Does God see this? How every church has their own personal Opinions? How it often happens that even two so-called bible scholars argue and disagree with each other? When this happens, and it does, which Scholar is right or correct? What if they both are wrong? And God has done nothing about this mess? Please tell me....did Divine inspiration also stop hundreds of years ago? If so, when? Why? Nothing in our day and time has been Divinely inspired? Who is the person YOU trust for the answers to this? Who is the expert on God and Divine inspiration? Do you know them? Are you going to reply to my questions with the one and only possible answer which is "I don't know"? Christians have a very hard time speaking those 3 words! They speak for God every day and on every subject....amazing right? LOL

I know people who lived into their eighties and nineties, but they didn’t have excellent health in their later years like she does. They generally started to decline in their 50 and 60s developing health issues more and more until they were barely active or even mobile.

It's not a blessing to society as a whole. In order to pay the pensions and healthcare of people living extremely long lives, younger people have to work for much longer, into their late sixties or beyond, and many of them will also end up spending years caring for elderly parents and grandparents. For every elderly person who thinks they are a hero for living so long, there are multiple exhausted people in their sixties who would love to give up work but can't.

After watching this video, I googled the diet of the oldest person - she is 116 years old and lives in Italy. Her daily diet is three eggs (two raw and one cooked), a plate of raw meat, fresh pasta and grappa. If you look around and don’t cherry pick who you want to talk about, you can just as easily find very old people doing quite well on an animal-based diet.

They ate meat from the animals they have on the farm, they eat vegetables from the plants they grew...they exercised daily (because they were farmers) , they didnt have time to stress and they played chess. They always told me to stick to things in their most natural form and dont let superficial things creep into my life. This means processed foods as well as stress and things like that

My grandma was 6 months shy from 100 when she passed from congestive heart failure and lung cancer. Her diet was very weird. Mainly rice, some meat(never beef cause she couldn’t stand the taste) and cooked vegetables, in stews or soups. Every morning, she would have warm milk with a bit of Kellogg’s cornflake. She limited her choice of fruits and veggies as she thought it made her cough. She loved chicken skin and fatty pork. Grandma did suffer from hypertension I’m sure from her salt intake. I think what contributed to her longevity was that she always had a sense of purpose,a thirst for knowledge, daily stretches and some good genes perhaps? I do think that if she had a healthier diet, she would have lived well past 100.

He weights what he did at age 20 and has never had any kind of joint surgery. I watched one of his games last year where he scored 8 points. After the game an "older" opponent told Granddad that he played well, was lucky to be still playing and would probably not be able to play past 55. Good for her. 👏👏👏👏👏👏Number one is food. That's why I switched over to a raw food lifestyle, and I have never felt this amazing since I was a kid. Being raw makes you want to get up and move because you have so much energy. You won't even want to sleep. The next thing is the mind. You attract and feel due to your thoughts and feelings. If you feel and go around saying you are old, then trust me, you are going to feel it. No matter who asks me how old I am, I will always say I am 21; and that's probably one good reason why I look and feel 21, even though I am over 50.

Good for you I am 67 and love plant based meals. When I was a kid I hated eating ,only liked meat and sweets and bread and every winter I got sick, was anemic. When I was 20 amd working as a hairdresser ,I worked with this beautiful slender stylist who was 8 years older than me. She glowed with health. She wore no make up . She looked so healthy . I was shocked when she told me she had been obese at one time. Tgat was a word you didn't hear much in the 1970's . The salon was in a converted cape cod style house and on Fridays we took turns providing lunch in the full kutchen that was still in the house. I started takung an interest in how Jan ate. She was a vegetarian She introduced me to a book called Back to The Garden by Jethro Kloss . I got the book and changed my eating habits . That was 47 years ago and I haven't looked back. Back then there were rules about combining certain foods to make a complete protein . Well I've learned a thing or two since then . But I've not stopped reading about nutrition. It is so sad to see the number if obese children and adults and the rising number who are diabetic and pre diabetic. Unfortunately their doctors can't help their patients how to eat healthy because they don't get many hours of training for that and many are so unhealthy themselves. My mist recent book about Plants is Fiber Fueled by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz. . I also look as movement as medicine, Many tink of going to the gym when they hear exercise but a gym isn't necessary . You can exercise all dsy at home by incorporating a few extra steps and moves.I dry our clothes on a wooden rack at the opposite end of our mobile and I always tell my husbanx I di like my 6 kids when they were babies learning to walk where they would pick up one toy , put it where they go back then go back for another . It adds e tra steps I do the same thing when I put away the dishes one at a time . I dp believe in walking or running , stretching and strength training. I wish you a Blessed day

My grandmother was born in 1905. Lived to be 104. Grew up poor on a farm. Worked the food crops and tobacco fields the same as her brothers. Had lost her Mother young, was up to her to care for all her 5 siblings. Raised animals and grew most of their food until after the Depression. Cooked all the meals with lard from hogs they raised then later bought it from the store. Drank moonshine from the time she was 12. Married twice, had 8 kids. Became a private chef after turning 50, using her own receipes. She used to say she was to busy to ever get sick. Are you saying - If she had only changed her diet, she could have lived a few more years??

@Mars752 you're making things up. Over 50% of all people are B12 deficient. Low protein? Lol All vegetables and fruits have protein. In fact, the perfect amount for the human body. Most ancient grains have all essential amino acids. Combining peanut butter and bread, rice and beans is a complete protein. Here's a real fact. Humans, digestion starts in the mouth. In omnivores and carnivores it starts in the stomach. Meat can't digest in a human mouth. The stomach has to raise the ph to an unhealthy level to digest it.

I am 72, diabetic, and have high blood pressure, but it's controlled with medicine and diet. I know now you have to start this healthy lifestyle when you turn 40. My doctor did warn me, then, better late than never.

70% of diabetics can lower their A1C to normal (5.2) and get off medications if they eat a healthy diet (NOT a diabetic diet) and get regular exercise. But it is easier to just take the meds.

Agree. This is how I eat. I don't like to eat a dead animal because most are abused and terrified when being killed. I'm almost 80 and can out hike most 40 year olds. I was raised active and on healthy food by my Czechoslovakian grand mother. Thanks Grammy!

A lot is also your genetic profile which you inherited plus how you manage stress levels. Many people who followed a good diet and exercise regime have developed terminal diseases and died at an early age. It's complicated with many factors to consider.
