My grandma passed away just 3 months before her 100yo, because of the forced sedentarity of lockdowns. She was a strong woman, worked as entrepreneur until 85yo, walked a lot (A LOT!), when she was young, it was WWII and she had to walk from Paris to her mom village in Brittany (450km one way) to look for food. Her own grandma walked a lot too, and she lived until 100yo (1875-1975) without seeing any doctor of her life. She used to lift a lot of weights in her many works even at 85yo, had a lot of strength. We had a lot of laugh and fun with her, always wanted to share and teach us some things, played cards, tell us what happened in her life, always give. I'm pretty sure the fact that she part raised us, had some life at home the weekends, helped her to have the love of life : "I would not die until you're not safe children". She was kind but not weak (if you had seen how she could react when someone tried to do bad business with her😅).
Grandma slept well but not too long, after she stop working she used to sleep a little bit in afternoon; never made a diet but didn't eat that much except the diner where she never said no to a piece of cake or a sweet treat. She used to eat some fruits, vegetables too as soups, and some meat, giblets and fermented food, bread, and a lot of eggs (10 weekly at least), a lot of water. Never spent a day without 2 coffees too , 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon.
Voilà, that was Grandma's way of life. Good luck everyone for the 100yo goal 🤞

I'm in Italy now and I grew up in Japan.
There is a huge difference between being a vegetarian and a mediterranean diet.
11 out of the 12 super centenarians, whom I have met and interviewed in Italy and Japan all ate meat and fish and most importantly cheese. 8 of them were over 110 year olds or there about. The Japanese elders eat a lot of seafood. I also consider Japanese diet mediterranean as well.
You can live long as a vegetarian but you can even live longer with a mediterranean diet with animal proteins if you eat organic and restrict the carbs. My grandfather lived to a 107. He died quietly in his sleep without alzheimers or cancer or diabetes. He ate fish, grass fed beef and free range chickens, mushrooms, cheese, with lots of vegetables often doused with extra virgin olive oil. He ate little organic carbs. The only thing he never touched was sugar. He always ate chocolate. But they were homemade, cacao mixed with olive oil and monk fruit and a little xylitol or honey with the comb which was often supplied by our local farmers. He often took some of the dark chocolate for his long walks. His diet was mostly breakfast and lunch during week days or lunch and dinner on weekends. The rest of the time he ate nothing. His diet mostly consisted of all the vitamins mentioned in this video.

This he oftened used to drink it with moringa teas and used it to mix with raw cacao which he used for chocolates. The fruit was supplied to him not the sweetner.

Most health issues are caused by nutrient deficiencies they don't teach that in corrupt america. That includes mental health issues, chronic headaches issues, breathing issues, balance issues, altimers and dementia and this goes on and on. All because of nutrient deficiencies. You check nutrient levels in your body by blood tests, you almost never hear of drs tell you to check your nutrient levels in america there all about toxic medications and are not fixing the underlying issues. Completely wrong. Pretty much only holistic drs will tell you in america about nutrient deficiencies that are causing health issues. And most nutrient normal levels are wrong in testing your levels in america. They allow very low numbers in "normal"nutrient levels to be a nornal level when your really deficient. So its rigged to keep you sick unless you have a holstic dr look at your nutrient levels in america. Most regular DRs dont know nutrition and when they read your nutrient level is normal and they say everthing is fine when its not. If you're at the low end of normal you're deficient in america. For example in america they let normal b12 level to be as low as 200 that is completely false. In japan the lowest they allow as a normal level is about 550 because you start getting deficiency symptoms of b12 under 600. the reason why japan and nordic countries are the healthiest and happiest countries in the world is because their governments are for them and standard medical care is nutrition first. that means nutrition blood testing and not medication first. food and supplements are medication. Usa is prob the least healthiest country in the world, while nordic countries and japan are the healthiest in the world. example japan has the least amount of dementia and altimers because they have their people check for b12 deficiecies which causes them.

I honesty believe your mindset contributes to half if not more to whether you live a long life. I've known many elders over 80 that eat pork, drink and probably don't pop supplements everyday but are always jolly. My grandfather is 96. He still drinks his Captain Morgan, eats meat and doesn't exercise. His mind is sharp and lives pretty much on his own. Not to say all of those things are important because they are. I exercise, supplement and try to eat healthy but I pay extra attention to my thoughts and spiritual well being.

My grandmother is 93 yo, and my grandfather died at 94. I noticed similarities between grandfather and grandmother that , both are sleep on 10 pm and wake up on 6 am , the main thing i noticed is daily routine , grandma used to keep herself busy in some work or the other and even when there was no work, she would try to find some work.and my grand father has been cycling since he died at the age of 94, he never stopped cycling from beginning to end in life , he also used to keep herself busy And both of them had a very good diet which included vegetables , meat and fruits and dry fruits.

I totally agree with the good Doctor. He is the first doctor that I am aware of that recommends supplements. The AMA seems to be against using vitamin and mineral supplementation. Exercise and optimal nutrition extend the quality of life and therefore the longevity that your genetics allow. One other thing that extends the quality of life and longevity is to "stay happy". Happiness creates a placebo effect for the mind and therefore the body.
Weight is not a true measure of healthy body fat levels. Body fat percentage is the better measure. For males, a body fat percentage of 5-12% is ideal while 10- 17% is ideal for females. Below 5% for males and below 10% for females is unhealthy. BTW, for my height and gender, I am obese by weight but my body fat percentage is within the ideal range. Even when I competed in bodybuilding contests at 5% body fat, I was still overweight by the height-weight standards for measuring good health and longevity.
    P. S. I am a former competitive "natural for life" 78 yr. old bodybuilder who still exercises strenuously with weights for 2 hrs/ day, 3-4 days a week. I have won local, regional and national titles against bodybuilders on anabolic hormones. I won my 1st contest at the age of 38.
I taught biology, chemistry and human anatomy & physiology at the high school level for 38 years. I have 2 Master's degrees, one in science education and the other in human nutrition, the latter of which I got after retiring from bodybuilding competition. In acquiring my Master's degree in human nutrition, I discovered that what I was being taught, I had already learned from bodybuilding. I diverge from Dr. Scharffenberg in that I am not a vegetarian and I drink beer in moderation(at the beach which is where my body makes vit.-D). Other than that, I am in full agreement with the good Dr.
*****Beer is made from fruit(plant parts associated with sexual reproduction), brewers yeast( sold in health food stores) and water. According to a 1970s issue in the "Science and the Citizen" section of Scientific American, humans make the equivalent of 1 serving of alcohol in the intestines each day from the fermentation of carbs via intestinal microbes.
A final thought about Vit-B12. Vegetables grown where animal manures are used as fertilizer, will have highly absorbable Vit-B12. Without animal manure, plants will be lacking in Vit-B12. Plants don't need B-12 but we do.

Genetics plays a big part of it - i knew a person who lived a healthy lifestyle, exercise, etc all their life - yet, past away in their late 40's - cancer ran in their family, they though they would at least get to 60.
There is no magic formula to living long - there are people who live past 100 that drink and smoke.
In China and Japan have a lot of people who live over 100 years then the West.
we all know what to do:
keep active, reduce/stop eating processed food, reduced stress, keep the mind healthy - lets admit it - very hard to do in the West - even health food are no so healthy ..!!!
there is salt, sugar, fats in almost every thing we eat.

Many people have sensitivity to grain & nuts. Some these fruits like mango could raise blood sugar with people with diabetes & pre diabetes.

    • @terryjackson9395
      @terryjackson9395 Рік тому

It's literally impossible to eat WFPB diet and be Type 2 diabetic. You could eat ONLY mango for 30 days and not have abnormal A1C.
If you can't eat grains, something is wrong with your gut bacteria. If you're looking for excuses to eat meat, just do it and live a shorter life. It's okay.

If they have diabetes or prediabetes, especially type 2, it is likely that their lifestyle when they were young is not good. Here we are talking about what we should consume from the time we are born until we are old, not when we start to grow old or when a person feels a disease coming to his body.
