These are a great bang for your buck intake and sound great! We'd be happy to help with any future mods and we have a huge catalog of stuff available for the MK8 GTI's!
The most difficult part for me (not including the coolant reroute hose which was surprisingly simple) was actually fitting the filter to the lip in the box. Bent my fins on mine
The ring that is on the lip in the box that i guess allows the filter to seat really securely got in the way. I pulled it off and effortlessly put the filter on. I ordered a new filter cause of the OCD lol
Dude, that is the most frustrating thing in bent one of the fins too! But luckily it’s facing down so I can’t see it 😂. Thanks a bunch for watching the video! The intake makes the turbo sound so much better
Great video, I tried to install this intake system on my car, and turbo inlet screws are not the same as yours. Mine was mounted vertical. everything else is the same, with that said, it was challenge to get the screws out.
@@danny_osorio No, its a 2022 VW Arteon, I think it has the same engine at MK8. I have some videos on my channel if you like to see. I did not have a DYI on it, but you can see the engine bay and see if it's similar.
@@jcook8191 I haven’t had any issues and haven’t heard anyone that has. I took the intake out a few weeks ago to install the short shifter and there was no rubbing or anything that I could see on the coolant line.

Of course, thanks man! I'm far from being a professional mechanic, but this was so easy to install I figured I'd try to do it myself. Hello Nice tutorial. I am trying to install my CIA on my Arteon 2.0T and the intake hose rear clamp is positioned in the lower part next to a connector. It's impossible to try to loosen the bolt. I have tried every tool. Sockets don't fit, right angled screw driver don't fit. Really frustrated with this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! That is super frustrating that you can’t get the clamp off. A few tricks that i can think of is - try to reach it from under the car if you can put it on jackstands. Not ideal, but you’ll be able to loosen and reposition. - I’ve had to work with some allen keys held by a closed 1/4 wrench to get in some real tight spots - maybe a socket with some locking pliers - last resort would be to remove the connector if you can I hope this helps, let me know!
Thanks for the video! Thinking about doing this. How does the daily drive sound? Comfort mode and cruising. Is there more noise? Are there any power gains with this mod? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! The daily drive is even better, there more throttle response and the turbo noise is louder too. Nothing uncomfortable or anything. Power gains, you’re gaining about 10 hp (per APR website) and more throttle response.
Hey. Trying to install this on my MK8 GTI too. Finding that when I put the filter on the lip of the box, a plastic ring on the box came off and is loose, seems very difficult to get the filter onto box with the plastic ring. Did you need to take off this plastic ring? Or you got the filter on with the ring still on the box? Thanks!
@@Tyomason hey! I actually ended up breaking that ring off by accident because it was so tough to get it on 😂 I super glued it back on and had to loosen the clamp basically all the way to get the filter on. Don’t take that ring off because the clamp will sit in between it and the wall of the filter box when you tighten it
@@danny_osorio just installed my Apr intake for my gti! The sound is IMMENSE! I'm just a little curious about the coolant hose under the intake being slightly bent. Hopefully shouldn't be an issue!
