APR Pendulum/Dogbone Mount Install and Thoughts on the Mk8 GTI
Finally got around to installing the APR Pendulum mount! This makes it so much smoother when shifting and even a little bit more responsive since there is less movement.
What dogbone mount did you end up going with and why?

Is Chemical Guys the Best Wheel Sealant in the Game? Yay or Nay?
Переглядів 101Місяць тому
My buddy gave me a jar of the Max Coat Wheel Guard from Chemical Guys, it was super easy to apply and I was very happy with the results. You ever used something like this on your car? Figured it would be a good time to try some detailing on the Mk8 GTI wheels.
Installing an APR Intake on my New Mk8 GTI
Переглядів 3,7 тис.2 місяці тому
After a few hiccups when ordering the APR intake, I finally got it and was so excited to install it! I love the sound of the turbo and the blowoff. I plan on ordering a cover soon, I feel like it almost defeats the purpose leaving it open since it'll be sucking up all the hot engine air. Apologies for all the focus breathing from my camera! Forgot to leave it in manual focus. Can you tell how n...

#VIRBAdventures - at the end of this session I fuck up on T4 and run off and then go down in the grass
does this require a tune?
No tune needed! Just install and enjoy! 🤙🏼
Hi, what exhaust do you have on the gti and how do you like it?
@@christophersilva1646 hey! I have the Milltek high flow catted downpipe and the milltek Road+ system. I love it, it does get pretty loud on a cold start and when you’re stepping on it. For road trips I find it great too, doesn’t drone and you can still have conversations inside of the car if you’re driving 75 mph or less. Basically you get the best of both worlds. The stock pops and bangs with this exhaust is crazy loud too
Nice install! Gotta get a weighted shifter next
@@peteyification thanks man! I just installed the APR short shifter last week. Absolutely love it!
You are gonna lose low end torque and some horsepower
@@mattsmith7379 didn’t lose any torque or power, feels great 🤙🏼
Yo man, so you need four jackstands to keep it level, correct?
@@mikepollastrelli7725 yessir, to install the mount you might be able to get away with it just being on the two fronts
Hell yeah man
@@hunterhart1 🤙🏼
Nice man ! One of my favorite first mods that really changes the feel of the ride without much money being spent
Thanks man!! It’s an absolute game changer
The most difficult part for me (not including the coolant reroute hose which was surprisingly simple) was actually fitting the filter to the lip in the box. Bent my fins on mine
The ring that is on the lip in the box that i guess allows the filter to seat really securely got in the way. I pulled it off and effortlessly put the filter on. I ordered a new filter cause of the OCD lol
Dude, that is the most frustrating thing in bent one of the fins too! But luckily it’s facing down so I can’t see it 😂. Thanks a bunch for watching the video! The intake makes the turbo sound so much better
It’s a great mod very simple install and happy with the fitment and added turbo noise
@@mikepollastrelli7725 what else is in the books for your Mk8?
Got an APR catback already on the car also a raceseng knob. Going with the APR stage 1 91 octane tune in the future
Good to know about the breather hose filter as I’ll be doing this to my MK8. Thank you!
You won’t regret it! Have fun!
Hello Nice tutorial. I am trying to install my CIA on my Arteon 2.0T and the intake hose rear clamp is positioned in the lower part next to a connector. It's impossible to try to loosen the bolt. I have tried every tool. Sockets don't fit, right angled screw driver don't fit. Really frustrated with this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! That is super frustrating that you can’t get the clamp off. A few tricks that i can think of is - try to reach it from under the car if you can put it on jackstands. Not ideal, but you’ll be able to loosen and reposition. - I’ve had to work with some allen keys held by a closed 1/4 wrench to get in some real tight spots - maybe a socket with some locking pliers - last resort would be to remove the connector if you can I hope this helps, let me know!
@@danny_osorio thanks sir Will try your advice.
@@jj-tq4hx absolutely! Let me know how it goes!
Thank you for posting this. You made it look easy with your step by step instructions. I have a 2023 GTI S, and am thinking about doing the same, but might need a professional to do it for me.
Of course, thanks man! I'm far from being a professional mechanic, but this was so easy to install I figured I'd try to do it myself. I'm happy I did because it's way more fun and rewarding knowing I did it. If you want to shoot me a message, I can walk you through the steps on a FaceTime call or something, happy to help you out
What blow off valve are you running?
No blowoff valve! That's just the sounds that comes with the new intake. I thought about adding a BOV, but after hearing it with just the intake, I figured I didn't need it.
Sounds awesome! looking to do the same to my MK8 as well. Have you noticed any better throttle response?
Thanks! You won’t be upset with upgrading the intake, easy install too. Didn’t notice too much throttle response change until I tuned it.
Nice man !! Will you get doing a flash with APR or Uni?
Absolutely! Planning on doing a few more mods and then getting a tune 🤙🏼
These are a great bang for your buck intake and sound great! We'd be happy to help with any future mods and we have a huge catalog of stuff available for the MK8 GTI's!
Yeah it is! Thanks! Lots of mods coming, so I will take a look 🤙🏼
Nice vid. You passed me like I was standing still.
Lol thank man. What bike are you on?
