This is a FANTASTIC guide on the install. The PRL instructions is very thorough but this is a great way to visualize everything. Appreciate how thorough you were but didn't drone on. Thank you! Managed to install mine without any issues except for manuevering the tubing in place - that part was a PITA!
That wrap reminds me of a 90s civic and is such a unique throwback look on a new school type r. Absolute 🔥🔥please paint it this color one day you nailed it!
Bro had to come back and say thank you. I was watching another guide on the install and got half way through and was like wtf... said screw it left found yours and was like yep here we go.. bit more detail and some good footage made my night a lot easier. The install is super easy it's just a few small things that others over looked however u didn't. Props and ty
Thanks for the video. Ordered mine about 10 seconds into watching your video. Was trying to find one in stock all day but axion, evasive, two step performance and PRL are all out of stock for now. Think I'm going to just remove the whole ECU when I do it to make it easier. one more clip than you did and the whole thing would come out. Tons of space for activities haha.
Lol yeah everyone loves this intake and for good reason, its awesome. So they are flying off the shelves. I think Axion sold out in like 2 or 3 days. Taking out the whole ECU will make it a bit easier for sure. I only did the one side cuz I know alot of people freak out of the thought of having to mess with it so I try calm some nerves by showing it can be done with just a parcial removal. I couldn't figure it out but some people said they got the snorkle in there without unplugging the ECU at all. I tried that but it didn't work for me lol.
@@MoisesEmpire I saw that on the forums and Facebook group. Seems like it’s not worth it to try and put the snorkel in without removing the ECU. I had to take the ECU out to have Derek Robinson unlock it so not a big deal to remove it again.
I think so. I did this a few months ago so i don't really remeber. I'd suggest you Watch the video and you'll see step by step everything that I had to do. If i did it'll show in the video.
@@MoisesEmpire The part that got me stumped was how to loosen the OEM vent tube worm clamp since the head didn't have philips head but luckily I was able to just pull it apart; great video tutorial!
Its on springs so i can't unless I go back to stock height. Ive got a spare lip ill be replacing the broken one with and if that one also breaks, ill probably just not have a lip at all.
Neither of those are boxed air intakes thats why they are cheaper. They just have a heat shield on one side. PRL is a boxed cold air intake with an added snorkel at the bottom to feed even more cold air into the filter. There's a big difference in design between PRL and the ones u mentioned.

@MoisesEmpire Haha what do you mean because it's enclosed??? Don't be silly guy...that's just wasted plastic.

Thanks! Thats actually one of the reasons I chose this color lol.

Thanks man I really appreciate that! I'm glad I was able to help you out.
Thanks for doing the video, followed it tonight to install my prl intake ❤
Your welcome. Im Glad it helped
Pro tip, the screwdriver will fit the 5.5 mil if you removed the Philips bit. Same size as the sheet metal zip screws in hvac.
Nice ill have to try that out. Thanks!
Awesome man, thank you for the plug and support
Thanks, not a problem. Hope its helps.
literally gonna install mine tomorrow! what a timely video!
Haha thats awesome! Good luck with the install. Takes some time but overall its not very difficult
amazing video man that was really a smooth installation and it sounds 🔥... thanks so much for posting
Thanks I appreciate that.
Good design that takes into account water ingestion.

Awesome video bro. Def helpful with my install.
Thanks man! Glad I could help.
Great install. After having it on for a few months, what is your impression?
Thanks! I love it. Worth every penny to me. PRL makes some good quality parts. I also have their intercooler and charge pipes.
sounds great
Thank you for the video! Very well done! How long did it take you to install it? 3-4 hrs? I received mine last week..
Your welcome! It took about 2 and a half to 3 hours since I was filming. If I wasnt filming probably would have took me like 1.5 to 2 hours
@@MoisesEmpire Thank you!
Added horse power????? Torque?? Price? Installing time? Awesome video Easy to follow
Haven't dyno yet to find out. Price is $460
nice color! what is the name of the wrap?
Its called dark green pearl. From Avery Dennison
Would this one work with the 11th gen civic hatchback? I'm in Miami, whenever you do a meetup or civic meetup, let me know, i want to go to one.
Not this exact one, this one is only for the Type R but PRL does make one for both the 1.5T and 2.0L 11th gen civics.
Did you take out the negative terminal battery? Like what the instructions said??
I think so. I did this a few months ago so i don't really remeber. I'd suggest you Watch the video and you'll see step by step everything that I had to do. If i did it'll show in the video.
Una pregunta, porque se me enciende el “emisions sistem problem” y “rev match system problem” 😢
En verdad no se. A mi eso nunca me ha pasado
Outstanding! Cheers 🍻
That's sounds great. Can't wait to get mine. Kinda nervous to do it myself
Dont be nervous, its pretty simple just time consuming.
How’s the difference in the air temps
To be honest I didn't check temps with the OEM intake so Idk what the difference is with the PRL.
Installed mine a few days ago, PRL pdf online is pretty thorough.
Awesome intake isn't it? Yeah they did a good job with it.
@@MoisesEmpire The part that got me stumped was how to loosen the OEM vent tube worm clamp since the head didn't have philips head but luckily I was able to just pull it apart; great video tutorial!
@ryu6998 yeah i thought mine was broken and missing the Philips head part lol. I just used pliers to grab it and turn it little by little.
How did you remove the plastic loom off the air sensor wiring??
Just undo all the little clips along the side with a small flat head screw driver. Be careful not to break them.
This is by far the worst part, I dont see how they are gonna come off
Update I was being to gentle before, really have to pry on them
You got rid of the fK7? What happened to it?
Yeah. I just wanted to upgrade
@@MoisesEmpire does your exhaust drone
The AWE on my FL5? No it does not.
I saw what happened to your front lip. Are you considering raising your ride height?
Its on springs so i can't unless I go back to stock height. Ive got a spare lip ill be replacing the broken one with and if that one also breaks, ill probably just not have a lip at all.
I know its been 7 months since you uploaded the video but the discount code no longer works
Any gains without a tune?
There should be but i won't know for sure till I get it on the dyno.
Cant get the grey plug off the bracket
It just slides off.
Thanks I eventually got it found it easier to remove the other plug first
River Bridge
No it aint....many comparable air boxes that sound better and cheaper....another cheerleaders for Prl...just dont get it....
Which ones? I've never seen any air box for the FL5 that sounds better and is cheaper then PRL.
@MoisesEmpire Pipecross, Ramair, tested with HP gains just to name just a few, both 100+ bucks cheaper...

Yes makes a difference. U can look it up. Short ram intake vs cold air intake.
