The vacuum line that connects to the intake pipe near the bracket that mounts it, did you have to feed that through the mess of other hoses near the block itself? I found with mine that if I didn’t, it would just barely stretch to the intake pipe and at the angle it sat it, I thought it would rip pretty easy. 2016 GTI owner, have the SAI filter and I zip tied it to the lowest grommet that holds the heat shield in place, per the CTS instructions. Am I missing anything? I’ve seen another thread online of someone routing that vacuum line to the SAI pipe instead of the intake pipe, but I may have been misunderstanding it
I love the Apr one because it has a bigger filter as well being carbon just aesthetically is nicer but if you’re looking for pure spool sound and smiles while driving the CTS intake does that as well for a lot less $$$
Best thing you’ll get from this is great turbo sounds and some better throttle response due to the higher intake of air. Performance wise is most likely minimal
@@bullet_tooth_tony A better upgrade for performance would be a drop in intercooler, any drop in will do; CTS, ECS, IE anything because it will help with heat soak and push cooler air straight to the engine.
It’s important and I recommend putting the filter on there if you don’t have one then best case would be to temporarily put a pair of panty hose over to cover
My cts turbo intake just came in but doesn’t have the little whole in the intake box lol anyone knows why? Even tho I selected the option that said with SAI🤷🏽♂️
Hey, i have a aem intake on mine and it does not sound as good like this. Do you have your soundaktor turned off? I am wondering if its because of either soundaktor or because my secondary air filter is ran directly to the pipe instead of being separated with its own filter. Mine just sounds like a stronger intake than stock but dosent have the nice swoosh noise like yours…
Hmmmmmm sooo no the soundaktor on my gti is still activated (will be deactivating it soon though) are you on stock inlet pipe? The inlet in super restrictive in these cars and I also have the CTS one which is larger which could be giving that extra induction
I was driving with the windows down and it does sound really nice. I just dont have the nice rev swoosh like you do but that does not bother be so much, because who is going to sit there a rev the car every time.
is throwing this on the mk6 with a catless downpipe and diverter valve spacer the move? wanna run an exhaust with a resonator that’s still throaty.. but need the turbo tssuu tsu in my life
I don’t recommend doing a spacer tbh if you want more turbo sound either do an intake if you don’t have one or buy like a forge or turbosmart BOV. The spacer sounds super fake and imo it’s a little obnoxious
It should fit without any issues tbh.. this fit between my cars with 0 fitment issues what so ever. It’s the same EA888.3 engine so I don’t see a difference. What year is your tts?
I have the same CAI and the fitment is just awful for something that costs over $360, buyers be aware If I could do it all over again I would go with a different brand

That can be achieved by unplugging the diverter valve, long-term it can damage the turbo.

Only time you’ll really get that is at lower rpms in a higher gear where it will make that sound or you’d need to go after market BOV

Sai filter from CTS and nothing else is needed!

This will fit with the stock inlet 0 issues! I do recommend however going aftermarket as the stock inlet is very restrictive

Performance is probably very minimal tbh maybe some throttle response due to more air coming it but it’s the smiles per gallon that count lol
