- A call to visit the estate of a late Chicago socialite has Doris excited. But even she wasn't expecting the weird and wonderful world she was about to enter.

This Woman lived! You can tell that she had a fascinating life ....every decade is filled with vibrant colors and amazing finds!
AGREED...EXACTLY how I would like to be and in essence what I'm doing.
"Sorry for your loss" WHERE are the clothes?!
ikr
lmao
L😂L
She did catch herself and respond accordingly but yes, Clothes please!!! :-)
That was too cute lol she was soo excited to see the goods
I seriously hope that this fabulous lady's family knows the amount of pure joy she's brought to every viewer, you can tell a lot from a women's closet and I know she was a hoot and I wish I could have known her!
Danielle Denis Mee too and I live in Chicago
That was one smart estate handler contacting this dealer--even though she got first pick it looked like there was plenty of great stuff left to buy....wish I had been in Chicago when that sale went down.
omfug Me too I live in Chicago how did I not know this?
It would have been nice to reveal some history of the owner (why the eccentric clothing - her style, career, designer??) and view images of her wearing some of the clothing.
Christie Trumb Bettina Graziana seems like she lived a fascinating life.
she was a french supermodel and one of the early muses for givenchy.....was also engaged to a Pakistani Prince (he died in a car accident before the wedding
Muqadas A Prince Aly Khan...he may have actually been a British Indian Prince but he then became the UN Pakistan ambassador, sorry my previous statement that he was a Pakistani Prince was just from a quick glance at Wikipedia
@@duchessofdissent5728 She must have been fabulous!
She passed away in 2015 a moth or so short of her 90th birthday. How fabulous for a woman in her later years to still live in such a fabulous house!
I wish a book would be made of this womans history and at least 200 of the articles of clothing, followed up by a book on her jewelry, followed up by a book on her decor. She was beautiful with the most interesting, artistic eye.
This woman’s life must have been such an adventure. She seemed to have lived, TRULY lived, and looked fabulous doing it. What a wonderful gift and legacy she has left for her niece.
Doris' genuine reaction to the blue fringe boots is priceless! I would have been excited, too. So cute.
It must have been heaven being in that closet! Imagine if that woman was alive and you guys where their, would've loved to hear her stories rip
Autumn I wonder if they found any journals?
Were there not where their.
How do you get this wrong?
@@tieiatalks A journal by her would've been an amazing read!
Autumn M. I would have loved to meet her.
I want to know so badly how much was on that paper!!
+KawaiiAFKelsey My guess, lots and lots of zeros.
+furrantee probably my entire college tuition with housing lol
xDD enough to pay for my entire life to live comfortably lol
Pastelitas
My guess? Close to 100k if not more
Doris is so professional and cares about the clothes they way they deserve, I really like her.
She actually is extremely rude! I contacted her about vintage chanel, dior, etc. High end fashion dating back to 1920 and she was so rude. My great grandmother and grandmother gowns thousands of dollars.
What was the check amount though?
About $40,000
Imagine owning such an amazing house and stunning clothes....
More extraordinary and intriguing than this socialites closet... Is Doris' check book. XX
It's the Smithsonian's 'check book.
I’m obsessed with this show. It’s a fashion lovers dream
I suspect the late socialite was much more interesting than the contents of her closet...too bad we won't know her story
parisalan1 I agree and I live in Chicago I could have become her friend and visit her.?
Honest to god if I had been the beneficiary I would have just sold everything in the house except he clothes and moved myself in lol
would definitly sold that tacky skinned cheetah
I Lovvve the mermaid tbl
My guess is several beneficiaries were involved.
I love it that she is not lowballing!
That closet is fantasy goals!
That first cream ostrich feather bottom mini dress is incredible! So unique yet so classic...
Gratziana (spelling?) Seemed like such a unique and eccentric woman. It must've been a great to have known her in life.
I love that you can tell what kind of spectacular woman she was based on her clothes. She must have lived quite a life! What a great legacy to leave.
"This appeals to the drag queen in me" *haha
That closet is a drag queen's dream closet! I say it with the utmost respect and admiration for the range of clothes. I just wonder how many times she went out for a function to wear all of those fabulous frocks. Love it!!!
Michael Dugenia Or was she like my mother who thought she was incredibly stylish but was in reality a short buxom little lady in glasses with a bubble hair style that was so short waisted it was sad because of where her chest was. She would buy things like jeweled black suede high heeled cowboy boots that she has never worn. Many things hang in her closet with the tags still on them. One day I went over there and she was about 76 and she had just opened a package that had just came that was an ankle bracelet with huge turquoise gemstone charms all the way around and I had a fit and I said she would look ridiculous, well I made her mad that day, she didn’t like being criticized but nobody was wearing ankle bracelets especially like that. It would have looked nice on a young Hawaiian girl in a sarong with tan legs and bare feet. But not an old woman. But the pictures of this woman in her house looked very glamorous.
is it weird that i noticed that the LORIS AZZARO chain-link top is the same one worn by NELLY FURTADO in the video for Promiscuous !?!?!?!?!?!?
peanutbutterMF Wow you have a great eye. its the exact same one.
wow I guess we know where it ended up lol
Omg ....you are totally correct! Great eye 👁🦋💜
peanutbutterMF Wow. I just came across this video and saw this comment. Did a quick search and wow ! That was my jam back in the day !
its wierd lol
So amazing! That woman had a REAL life! If those garments could tell their tale...
This is one of my favorite episodes.... I think I have watched it 20 times. Its amazing all the things people aquire over a lifetime!
RIP to this woman she seems like a dream, so beautiful with clothes I'd die for
This needed to be so much longer - but thanks for the short but perfect dream. As someone below said, a documentary on her life would have been amazing...
Beautiful! Thank you for inviting us along
I'm so sorry for your loss.... but damn I'm happy for my gain! Let's get shopping!
I hope to be as eccentric through my life by the time I pass this earth !
Pisces Rain All you have to do is wear them well and wear them with confidence.
Wow..All the treasures she left behind. So beautiful, wish we could know more about her.
Fabulous find, I would have loved to have seen the photo albums with her wearing those amazing colorful clothes. Fashion designers & fashionistas need to study her looks.
This is what it feels like to fall in love.
then you're a cheap date
To be honest I think I've fallen in love with the late aunt!
Wauuuuwwww Grazianna!!! The mermaid table and the peacock capelet. And the Azarro! Whoooo
Oh my god those pieces! I'm in loveeeeee I want to know that ladyy! This channel has made me fall in love with vintage damn
The woman wardrobe is fabulous !! And I bet her life was absolutely amazing ❤️❤️
I just can't wait to the next episode! Omg I think the Yma Sumac was the ultimate then I view this and I'm in LOOOOOOVE beyond LOVE!
i love it when Doris fan girls over pieces. she just does some sort of a derp face. i love her enthusiasm.
Wow ! That closet was utter heaven ❤️
I wish I had this woman's closet
It's pretty obvious that they negotiated a number off camera before filming the check scene for a positive reaction. Nonetheless, I love this clip. This whole thing is sparking my new obsession with vintage clothing. :)
The woman who passed on was STUNNINGLY beautiful. She looks like she would've been like the Cindy Crawford of her day. If she wasn't a model at some point I would be HIGHLY surprised.
Curvy Diva I think I read somewhere that her name was “Ardiana” and she was a model for Dior.
Curvy Diva I saw another possible name in the comments as well ... Grazyna Maduff. I believe the person who posted that name may be from the same neighbourhood originally so hopefully it’s legit. If I find anything via Google, will update you!
Darn, can’t find a thing really. Using the Maduff name, a Google search yields her suing a life insurance company after her husband died. Allegedly they took too long to pay out the $2 m settlement and I think she was successful in that matter.
As far as the other name, can’t find a thing when I search with the Dior connection.
No images found for either.
Someone else in comments said that she wasn’t a socialite and that the show said it to play up the intrigue.
I want to know more about her I wanna read about her life from beginning to her very end she looks beautiful and mysterious at the same time
i'd like to know what the magic number was too! incredible stuff!
a million?
i would say between 100k - 200k. it is The Smithsonian that she is buying it for i am Pretty sure.
Judging by the way she wrote it down I’m gonna say $110,000
I want rooms of fabulous cloths. I want the chainmail top, red maraboo coat, the peacock overcoat🦚🦚 Had no idea about this show. I just love watching the two work together. I want to that. Someone pay me please to go through all of the fabulous cloths.
I’ve watched this so many times just dreaming of wearin these pieces
Her closet I could imagine was a treasure chest of fashion. She seemed like a lovely women.
I'm in heaven watching this again...and again. I would've loved to see more of her shoe collection and the other rooms used as closets judging by this one alone 😃.
I love the 70s but I was too young for studio 54 😉😉 ...some of the clothes were fabulous.
Wow! That negotiation went really well!
It must be such a difficult job having to dismantle such a wonderful home. It was bad enough with the few basic things my Gran left behind in her 2 bed bungalow, and she had been clearing out for years x
Bring this program back!!!!
This woman had such SUCH good taste and it looks like heaven in there! These clothes tell multitudes!
Renee's Aunt Graziana was beautiful, reminiscent of Shakira facially.
Judging by the items she picked. At least 50 to 75 grand.
That was my guess...around 70 grand.
I'm guessing between $800k to 2 million. The Azzaro piece is at least $4k, so with 3 racks of high end clothing, jewelry, plus accessories; the generous offer is pretty high.
@@KTolai wow. it's possible isn't it,,, that's Crazy!
This is the high end resale shop in L.A. Called "The Way We Wore" :)
That got me so excited for you! Wanted to be there to just touch those cloths.I wish there was some background on the amazing lady!
Wow.. such an amazing home and all of her belongings.. very eccentric!
She was kind of Elvis-y.. flamboyant. Must have been a character.
I want to know more about the owner. She was gorgeous and her house fascinating.
I wouldn't be suprised if everything in that house combined was worth a couple hundred million dollars.
My best friends grandmother has a closet like that we always sneak in to her uncles house because she pass away quite some time ago and he is mentally unstable so he won't let her have anything 😫
if I were your friend i would slowly take the closet piece by piece
Anyone else wish they had this woman's knowledge of fashion? Her store is just fabulous!
Lauren T I have her knowledge of fashion! I just don’t have her money lol
3:49 that coat was worn by the ICONIC Iris Apfel
Wow, Aunt Graziana must've been a fascinating woman. Would love to know more about her glamorous life. Her clothes are absolutely amazing!
I would love to know how much was spent!
Kind of nosey but it's something I'm sure we all want to know!
Omg to live like this what a happy life im so sorry for her loss but wow
I love it!! So fabulous
So wanna know about this deceased lady. She looked so stunning on those photos ! Who was she ???
OMG!!! I want her closet!!! 👗👜
My favorite episode.
The 70's coat is just gorgeous
2:32 says it all.
those fringed boots - stunning and fabulous! beaded dress, also stunning!
I love you Doris so much especially when you say the “Drag Queen in me”🎉😂🌈🥰
I want that closet :( I just checked the designer loris azzaro and his vintage metal braid pieces are like 600 USD -1000 USD up to 10.000 USD a piece WOW.
I would have cried when I walked into that closet all of my dreams would have come true ❤️❤️😂😂
I am more interested in that owner than those clothes. She might have an interesting personality.
No
Loved this video even though it was on the sad side. What an experience.
I have a cast bronze mermaid coffee table which I’ve had for 20 years and I just love it to bits🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺...
I probably need a few more more hours to gather my thoughts.. if was in thatcloset ,that peackock caftan jacket alone took my breath away.
Now I want to see the people who bought those particular items....
LOVE LOVE LOVE the blue fringe boots 😍😍😍😍😍
I want that red coat so much it hurts me
i love Doris.
I miss this show 😭 it was so good
Thank you Doris. Thank you. Smithsonian. That is truly amazing.
Ugh. I wish we could get a tour of that house!😍
They came off like opportunistic looters, all of them barely containing their drool.
I kinda picked up on that as well. Sad to a certain extent.
I go to estate sales often and by the time any shoppers get there, the family has already long decided what to keep. Some professional sellers require the family not be present at the sale to avoid awkward interactions with collectors or business owners (like Doris) who will analyze items through a profit gain/loss lens. And this is TV, they’re thinking out loud for a camera.
I wouldn't have sold anything. I'd have moved in there lock stock and barrel, and done whatever necessary to fit into those clothes, and wear a fabulous gown to go get the mail.
I want all the stuff in that house except the tanning beds
I like that the worth of the lovely items was respected by the buyer 🌹🌷🌞🌈
The late owner had amazing style. Rip!
OMG, I went to an estate sale recently very similar to this, I totally wanted to know the woman who had lived there as well, there's so many fascinating people I feel so sad I didn't get to actually meet. I found a bunch of gorgeous eighties workout clothes there! PS LOVE those suede boots here!
I love this. Everyone should have a walk wardrobe.
Oh my God I love this especially the part when she said it appeals to the drag queen of me”
Oh how I’d love to pick through that closet!🤩🤩🤩🤩
Ahhhhh love this channel
I need that vintage cheetah skin on the wall. I’m aching for it.
I m watching this video for the 7th time
