I just replaced another set of Good Year F1 Asymmetric 5 summer tires after 33,000 miles on my model Y. Set 42PSI in cold and this type of tire will last for a while with good grip. Got them from Tirerack for $208/each and they shipped to my local Discount tires, cost of installation was $120 for all 4.
The Michelins that came on my Tesla M3 have lost most of their tread at 11K miles. I do mostly town driving and I do not hard brake or accelerate. I will be lucky to get 14K miles on them.
I’ve heard similar reports from others. I ran my original Michelins for about 55k miles, so obviously I had a different experience. However, I did have bald patches on the inner strip of tread due to negative camber, so I did run them dangerously low. I really got my money’s worth out of them. 😂
I have the elect PZeros A/S on my Model S, and even with regular rotation and proper tire pressure, I'm down to 5/32 at 14,000 miles. Thinking my next tires might be the cross climate 2 just for the reported longevity - even if they are a little growly. The PZeros are still very quiet, but the S just does not handle well with 4/32 tread depth.
I just got the P zero AS Elect installed yesterday (4th set of tires) replacing Michelin Pilot AS 4 on my 2018 model 3 LR. I was nearing the wear bars on the Pilot AS 4’s and had put about 26k miles on them. As soon as I drove away from America’s Tire (same as Discount Tire) I immediately noticed how quiet they were. The ride is excellent so far. Hopefully they will last longer than the Michelins. I still love Michelin but I wanted to try something different and an EV specific tire. Great video !
thanks for sharing dann! i'm wondering if 2 weeks out after driving on them if you still feel the same?? i'm considering your pirelli's vs hankook vs continental's EV's
@@Dann902I know this is a late follow up but curious how your drive has been with the Pirelli tires. My car came with continental pro contact rx tires from Tesla. I need to get new tires so I dont know if I should get the same tires or something different I was thinking the same tires or the Pirelli tires with elect or the Michelin pilot sports all season
@@bumblebee1500 I’ve driven about 6000+ miles on the Pirelli P Zero AS Elect tires and they are awesome. Comfortable ride and nice grip on the road. I recently rotated them a month ago. You can’t go wrong with either the Pirellis or Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4. But I do recommend the Pirelli for an EV specific tire option. I would get them again.
@@Dann902 I dont know if you ever had the continental pro contact rx. Not a bad tire it’s good! Just I think loud and not smooth. But I also drive 2 Acuras before the Tesla so I dont know haha. But I was thinking the pilot sports or Pirelli. I heard lots of people say get the pilot sports but I also heard it eats 10% of your range and it’s louder cause no foam. I dont know how they really compare to the continentals but I’m kinda going between those 2 tires.
What do you recommend for SoCal? No snow, but February can get quite wet. I don't drive that much. What do you like? I'm going from 20" to 19" rims. I have Pirelli P-Zero tires on the 20" rims. Good video, thanks. I'm probably gonna go with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Performance Summer tires for the 19s. P.S. I suggest you wrap those black handles in white. :) Will look much better.
I have a 2021 standard range rwd. I'm at 25k miles and will need new tires soon. I am surprised since I rotate my tires every 6k miles. Any suggestions for a tire that will.last me longer than 25k miles?
Do these make your car feel heavier or about the same as the continental tires you originally had on the car? I ask because I just put these on my Model 3 and It feels like the car isn't as nibble. I'm aligning my tires to see if they will make a difference. But ultimately what sold me on these were the high tread life.
MPS4S are far superior. Not sure what made Tesla to stop putting those on facelift model. When we did a drag race using 2 exact same cars with same soc and temperature, the ones fitted with MPS4S was faster.

Same. I have 16k on my original primacy MXM4. Have rotated them twice with them all now at 4/32
I like Michelin. Right now I am on cross climate 75% tread at four years. 2019X

Thanks for reporting back about your long term experience with them. Hopefully I’ll get some more life out of mine since the model 3 is lighter.
I am on my 3rd set of Pirelli P0's at 57,000 miles. I do spend a bit of time at 85-90+ for extended periods and push the corners whenever possible.

Are these tires quieter on coarse pavement?

6 year or 50k mile warranty? What is criteria to evoke warranty?
I'm thinking of putting these on my M3... how is it so far?
They’re still doing great. 👍

I haven’t noticed any difference really. I had pilot sports before these, and they feel about the same.
Geez! these tires are now $100 more per tire...

For those wondering what MPSS4PSPSRESPSS is, they're Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (Performance Summer) tires.
My used tesla came with westlake cheapo tires i got to change them quick im scared 😰
Another bonus of ev ownership tire replacement save the planet 😆
Do u charge at home or super charge
Mostly at home and work. I do supercharge, but not regularly.
Not mutually-exclusive. :)
Michelin cross climate 2 are top notch ! Best tire in my opinion. I have had them on my model y and model 3 for 3 years now and they have been amazing
I always hear great things about them too.
Where did you find cross climate2 for 20” Model Y?
I run a 255-45-19 on my model y
